I was expecting something better
The hotel is not worth the money it costs and way below mercury standards. The staff was somehow weird. Some tried to be very helpful while others did not give a damn. I asked for information on how to get to riocentro and instead of helping me find a way to get there they told me to get on the bus to the central station and ask there. When I tried to organize a tour around the city I told them that my colleagues at the Hilton got a better price for the same trip and they told me to go and book the tour at the Hilton!!!! That is not acceptable.
At the swimming pool I asked for a towel and the guy told me to go downstairs and get myself one: he was busy chitchatting with another guest. Wouldn't it be better to keep the towels in the pool area anyway?
The bathroom ceiling light kept bumping during the day and the night because of the wind making a very weird and annoying noise.
Not all the staff speaks english and somehow it is hard to be understood. Some of the staff was indeed very nice.
When I was leaving I asked for a cab to the airport. I booked the cab the night before my departure. They did not tell me that it was not a real cab but a private car that charged me way more than the standard cost to get to the airport. I would have been ok with a private car and a private driver but I would like to be the one to decide. They should have informed me.
