Worst hotel experience ever!
Unfamiliar with the area, we booked a two night stay at the Long Beach Hotel, due to close proximity to Jones Beach Amphitheater.
Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised to learn our room was ready for early check in. The room was relatively clean and the shower pressure was decent.
That is about all the positives we experienced.
The hotel is old with minimal updates and a faint mildew smell. The room was tiny, dimly lit, with absolutely no decor. The linens were thin and dark as were the bath towels. Closet space was tight with only two hangers. There was no outside space and our views were of the fire escape complete with dumpsters and the other of the rooftop air conditioning units.
The bathroom sink pressure was a spray trickle and there was no exhaust. The body wash and shampoo dispensers in the bath did not work. There were no cups/glasses or a place to hold tooth brushes or bar soap. There was no early morning (6:00 AM) coffee the next day and no room housekeeping or clean towels.
This was our worst hotel experience ever. So much so, we checked out after our event and did not stay the second night.
If you don’t mind staying in a room that looks like one in a boarding house, we implore you, find another place to stay and save yourself disappointment.
