The Waring House

Property is very pretty. My specific room was nothing fancy, dated furnishings and obviously not one of their high end rooms, but I guess that’s what I paid for. Service was generally good and room was clean. Didn’t really get an opportunity to use amenities, but breakfast started at 8am, which is too late in my mind, when I’m on a business trip. Need to be on the road before then.

The staff at The Waring House were lovely, very polite and ready to help. My mom and I had booked tthis trip as our first mother and daughter trip in Canada, a little quick get away from the city. We had booked a small room and they upgraded us to a bigger room with a jacuzzy and a fireplace to make the ocassion just that much more special. We also really enjoyed the breakfats which was included in the booking rate, lots of delicious choices. Plus having a restaurant/ Pub with live music right next door was a huge bonus when it came to finding a place for dinner near by. Over all 5/5! Highly recommend!

We stayed in the main house which made it convenient to go downstairs to the pub or dining room for meals. We found the bed to be abit on the small size but certainly not a huge inconvenience. The property is well maintained and close to Picton although not walkable. The meals we had at the Barley Room and the breakfasts were quite good Overall we enjoyed ourselves and would likely return to the Waring House

Beautiful grounds and architecture, great value for the room and breakfast;)

We stayed here back in 2006 and very much enjoyed the Waring House. Thus I didn’t think twice about returning for this trip. It is not the same place...even in spite of the pandemic and its requirements (no housekeeping which was fine), it is now ‘old’ (outdated) and dingy. The rooms and the dining room, both. We paid too much. Will look elsewhere next time.

Located conveniently close to the Millennium trail. Nice choice of breakfasts. Pretty grounds and garden. Unfortunately, the rooms were not well sound-proofed as we could hear neighbour’s radio through the walls. The halls smelled musty in the building we stayed in.

Nice place. Only issue was with no fridge or ice bucket in the room to keep things cold while on the road. Also no kettle in the room for tea, just a coffee maker.

We were stuck on the second floor. I have bad knees and could hardly navigate them. We inquired, but it was going to be $80 per night to get a ground floor room. Never again.!

Clean and quiet place to stay

Why are all the lamps in the room unplugged? Otherwise lovely character to the facility, staff very friendly!
