The Franklin Hotel

Nice host, very responsive. Room is nice enough at a great central location. There was however a giant stain on the carpet in the middle of the room. Also, the TV was oddly 7ft up on the wall, very awkward to watch. Almost no channels available. Stayed on Thursday and Friday night. Thursday was quiet but Friday night the restaurant below played very loud music beyond 2:30 am. Whole room shook the whole time. Would not recommend to stay over the weekend if not going out yourself.

The location of the property was great. The room was spacious and the shower was nicely renovated. But otherwise, this place was a huge disappointment. The room had garbage in it when we checked in. We were there for three nights and no one ever came to make up the room, or leave us clean towels. I wish I could say they were trying to be eco friendly..... but I don’t think that’s what this was about. I think this place has some potential because of the great location but they really need to up their service game - a lot.

The hotel is in a great location, comfortable bed and large shower. Our only complaint was the complete lack of housekeeping. We stayed for 3 days and the room was never made up and we ran out of bathroom supplier.

The Franklin Hotel is ideally located on Water Street surrounded by pubs, restaurants and interesting shops. The top-floor rooms feature balconies with a partial view of the harbour. The rooms are small but efficient, although minor amenities (eating table, chairs) are lacking. Room cleaning was also sporadic (three times in six nights). Despte the proximity to activity, noise levels for our room facing the harbour were low.

This property is perfectly located in downtown, near the water and close to the excellent music on George Street. A unique feature as well, although there was little time to watch TV, is the location of the screen, high up on the wall near the high ceilings. One can lie comfortably in bed and watch indefinitely without getting a kink in the neck, or even a drilling sound in the ears as is the case in a dentist chair. This is a third visit from Dawson City, Yukon in the past 10 years to this fabulous hotel. And the 43 steps to the room only invigorate the traveller to enjoy the finest of lodging.

I loved the patio connected to room 304, a great bonus for the hot summer nights, but there's no view as you're in the heart of downtown, a parking garage is directly next door, but the area was quiet, no noise from the street or other occupants was heard in the room. The patio could be freshened up, a coat of paint, a flower in a pot and some decent deck chairs and table from Walmart would go a long way, just saying, could use a designers touch. Fully met my basic needs for 2 nights, check in was easy and I like the privacy of no front desk and a passcode to get in. The coffee maker was supplied, but there was no sugar or coffee whitener so I didn't use it. A mini fridge would have been very helpful but was not included in my room. No vending or ice machines. No hair dryer or toiletries available. Note that there is no elevator and all stairs so I would not recommend staying here if you have a lot of heavy luggage. I travel light and love the location so I will probably stay again.

interaction was friendly but no interaction with staff. It's almost self-service boutique hotel. It is strategically located

Wasn't saved into system that reservation was made , didn't have proper room , place was being renovated, messy, dirty needle in the room, gave us 2 double rooms in place of the king room we originally had booked , when we only needed one, who sleeps in 2 rooms in one night , wasn't helpful at all , definitely won't be going back

This place was great for girls night so close to all downtown animates. They are renovating it didn't bother us.The owner is super sweet & friendly he makes us want to come back again&again! We had a great conversation with him forawhile then he had to come back late at night because we locked ourselves out of the room he was so nice about it.Awesome guy!! The room was great the balcony was convenient ( for you smokers) & over all it waa great no complaints!! & we will be back! The owner & staff are fanominal 5 stars!

Location of hotel is great, and to be able to have access to a patio at a hotel in the city is also a plus. However, the experience was awful. When my boyfriend and I arrived, we were there long enough to drop our bags off then out for most of the evening. When we got back there was water all over the bathroom and carpet, leaving any bag/belongings nearby absolutely soaked. We left first thing in the morning and I called the owner to notify him of the issue and express my disappointment. Not only was he utterly rude, but also hung up on me and refused to answer my calls that followed. An apology would've sufficed. Needless to say we won't be returning and would not recommend to future guests.
