Mabely Grand Hotel

Hotel molto bello, elegante, curato nei particolari. Personale attento e professionale. Cibo ottimo, da consumare sulla terrazza con vista straordinaria sul mare, specie al tramonto. Si trova nell'interno in una zona bella e tranquilla, più fresca rispetto ad altre parti dell'isola e piuttosto lontana dal mare. Da consigliare a chi preferisce un soggiorno tranquillo, muovendosi in auto tra le spiagge dell'isola. Ci sono comunque due piscine ben attrezzate con ombrelloni e lettini. L'intrattenimento è stato presente quasi tutte le sere, sobrio come l'atmosfera dell'Hotel, molto utilizzato il bel pianoforte della hall. L'hotel in generale vale le 5 stelle. Non per le stanze che secondo noi sono un po' al di sotto dello standard. Inoltre il wi-fi gratuito non è presente nelle camere ed è decisamente scadente nella hall. In generale una bella esperienza, da ripetere.

We were very happy with the location and the hotel in general. The breakfast was amazing!! The only bad thing is that there's no WiFi in the rooms, just at the reception.

Pos - Area is great, view is great, some parts of the hotel are 5*, that view and the layout is quite impressive. Another positive is the shuttle buses as the hotel is secluded. Neg - Not a 5* - more like a good 4* - Website says free wifi - when we got there, we found out it was just in the lobby/main building and even that didnt work very well. Hotel needs to be updated, its a bit outdated and old. the economy rooms were especially bad - maybe if you stay in the suites with their own swimming pool, you might actually get a clean and mould free bathroom with broken extractor or shower that doesnt cause the bathroom to flood with water, but as i didnt stay in one of those suites, i can't speculate. Service was alright - didnt really seem to take our concerns when it came to mould in the bathroom very seriously but they did allow us to move to another room. This new room also had mould but the extractor worked and lessened the smell. Food options for breakfast are a bit boring, you get bored after a while. Dinner was also quite selective and you dont have so much choice. Also heard that not all the food is prepared on site - cant confirm this to be a fact but overheard.

Hotel is beautiful although it needs some updating. For example, the lining of the pool is coming away, chair brocken, bathrooms tired etc). The biggest issue with this hotel is the evening entertainment. It is infrequent and boring (Greek night was good). The bar area is more like an old people’s home than a holiday hotel in the evening. The food is gorgeous but the all inclusive drink choice is very poor. All in all it is a gorgeous (it is a stunning building but needs updating), views are beautiful, hotel in a very quiet location with lovely staff staff but they need to up their game as their all inclusive and entertainment in not as good as most other hotels. Finally, I do not think the hotel is 5 star in its current state.
