Dar al Bahar

Dar Al Bahar was simply lovely. The room (Malika) that we chose was on the third floor but we were helped both going up and down with our luggage. The view is to die for, absolutely breathtaking. The terrace was perfect for watching the sunset and breakfast. We were a little cold so we had breakfast downstairs which was fine. We always had 2 types of bread with an omelette, coffee and juice. Location is good for all parts of the Medina, about a ten minute walk from where the taxi drops you off.

Rooftop deck overlooking the ocean and rooftops. Delicious breakfast, spotless rooms with efficient, helpful and happy staff. A softer bed would have made the stay perfect.

The staff were so great and friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place for a great stay in Essaouira.

Excellent Riad

Room offered was substandard we had to pay another CS 20 to get an acceptable room. The owner very unfriendly. No creditcard option she charged us 10% surcharge over bank rate for the payment. Very dissatisfied.

I had been staying at a different riad in Essauoira but decided to switch to Dar al Bahar and I am so glad I did. It is a lovely riad located on a cliff above the ocean. Some rooms have ocean views, mine did not but I would leave my windows open so that I could smell and hear the ocean. It has a spectacular roof off terrace where a lovey breakfast is served. The staff is very nice and helpful. It is located on the northern side of the medina which I preferred. There are a number of good restaurants nearby and it is an easy walk to shops. When I come back to Essaouira I will definitely stay here,

This hotel is in a relatively quiet part of the Médina, next to the sea (although it’s not on the beach). It is basically a tower, and the rooms get less expensive the higher up you are (because the climb is steep). The room itself was clean and well decorated. The staff was a problem, though. The man on night shift was not at all helpful, and in fact, refused us a slightly earlier breakfast (we requested breakfast 15 minutes before regular time), which we needed because of a 9:00 bus. So we paid in full but received no breakfast. And not even an apology. There are plenty of other options in Essaouira so no need for this one.

Greeted with coffee and amazing almond pastries. The sea view room on the city wall was amazing. Don't miss sunset from the fourth floor terrace.

I only wish I could have stayed longer! The rooftop patio is a great place to spend the morning reading. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful. I loved every minute.

The kindest hosts at this guest house! Amazing location and sea views from the terrace. I would go back in a heartbeat.
