Il Boom

Away from the crowds of Rome, this accommodation is close to bus and tram that takes you to all the sites. Our host, Angelo, greeted us and was very friendly and helpful. The guest room was lovely and we enjoyed sitting on the terraces overlooking the neighbourhood. You can hear street noise but it was mostly quiet during sleeping hours. Breakfast was excellent!! Overall, we were happy with our stay at Il Boom.

We stayed in Vitti Room from the 8-22nd of January and only booked this hotel because of the recommendations of others before for us. The 3 cats which live on the terrace also factored into our decision of course. Angelo, the owner was away during our first week at the house but did mention that the housekeeper Dorota would be there to greet us when we arrive. As Dorota's mother tongue is Italian, we naturally had difficulty understanding her but did get most of the simple instructions regarding the house, the keys, the room, bathroom, and kitchen/dining upstairs. The house is about 20-30mins walk away from several tourist attractions, Dorota mentioned two buses with a stop just outside which would take us to most areas in Rome. But we decided to walk everywhere instead and easily clocked upwards of 15k eachday. There are also so many beautiful restaurants in this area. From the eating area and if you get there early enough, you can easily see the sun rise on a clear day. Speaking of food, Angelo also owns a restaurant called Meridionale in Trastevere, where a number of the cakes and baked goods came from for our enjoyment during breakfast. The breakfast menu was great including fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt, cheese, ham, egg, butter, jams & bread as well as a coffee and juice machine. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, our room and bathroom was cleaned daily with fresh linen and towels. Both rooms were also nice and toasty during our stay which we loved.
