Bayview Plaza Waterfront Resort

Our stay was good. The place smelled clean, we enjoyed the fact that it had a full kitchen and it was on the first floor. It would’ve been nice to haveMore pillows.

Suited us perfectly being situated mid point between Fort De Soto and Caddys bar restaurant. Also Publix and Walgreen nearby.

Super stay, everything you need

Wanted to try bayside for a change and added on a day. Didn’t realize that check in was at a different place than the hotel. Had hard time finding the room but was pleasantly surprised when we got in. Hubby was tired so he slept for awhile, I was going to watch tv. Remote didn’t work, assumed needed a battery. Did it manually but no TV channels listed to know what’s where. Time to get cleaned up fir dinner, couldn’t get any hot water and pressure went to nothing. Called and he said next room same way. So pack up and move. They did upgrade us to the motel side on ocean and oceanfront room. There’s only 4 oceanfront rooms! Asked for resort fee be waived as we missed our anniversary dinner reservations and include a late check out. They obliged and at check out asked joe stay was we enjoyed it and received a 50% discount on next first night. We’ll go back and request same room 217.

The positives: the staff was welcoming, friendly, and clearly took pride in their work. The room was clean, though slightly musty which is common at beach properties. The bed was clean and comfortable. One must applaud the effort to be “green” and eco friendly. However, this property should not call itself a resort. We could not identify the “resort” characteristics at all. This is a basic motel at best. The “green” efforts resulted in terrible water pressure through most of our stay. Two mornings in a row, there was actually no water coming out of the tap at all, and even at its best later in the day it was not enough to wash my hair. The staff asked that we wear wristbands on the property but I am not clear as to why, since there were no chairs or umbrellas or other amenities provided by the hotel that we could identity. Other than the water pressure, the property is fine, but it is not worth the price and certainly not worth the additional “resort fee”.
