Manager Tony is very personable and friendly, and helpful when you need anything. I knew I couldn’t make it back to check out at checkout time on my last day and he volunteered to let me check out first thing in the morning and took my bags in the office to keep until I could return at 2pm to take off. When leaving he called the cab for me to make it easy on me.
It is a 96 year old hotel so some of the fixtures are old, but everything works fine, and there are a lot of old historic photos on the walls throughout the hotel which is quite interesting, some of them telling old time stories, especially with famous people who have stayed there from many many years ago.
The only complaint would be that there is no parking there, I rented a car when I stayed there a year ago and you have to drive to find an old parking garage that is metered. This year I decided to not rent a car since I come to go to an annual convention every December since it is so close to the convention center, only 1/3m to walk so this hotel works out great if you’re there to go to the convention center.
An older quaint hotel with a lot of history, very clean and comfortable, will stay again next year.
