Not a enjoyable stay
We were originally booked for two nights. Cancelled the 2nd night due to condition of the facility. Building was being painted and fumes were noticeable in the room. They did exchange our room which made it better but it was still noticeable. Also, paint cans and materials were blocking the entrance. Hotel did agree to cancel and refund our 2nd night. This may be a nice place when they get it done but they should have made it public that they were updating the facility before people booked the rooms.

decent value for money, and location.
All of the negatives we experienced would fall under the maintenance heading. First the pros, location, location, location, price was also very good, as was the staff, breakfast was decent quality, especially factoring in the price of the stay, now the negatives, most were minor, it certainly is outdated, and could use a makeover, (they were painting exterior when we visited), inside needs it worse. bathroom lock did not work, 2 fire alarms in the middle of the night was a pain, (and was electrical related, not fire thankfully), biggest issue was AC didn't work, they had no other rooms, so offered a fan, and discount, due to painting, couldn't even open the window, staff did the best they could under difficult circumstances.

Not the best experience
During our stay there was a 5am fire alarm that went off. Was extremely disappointed on how things were handled. The guests were not informed and they only had one 1 staff there that did not come outside to let us know about what was happening. The guests basically had to find out themselves. Ended up being a water leak that caused the alarm, went back upstairs only to have the alarm ringing yet again. One hour of complete caous. Very poorly handled, no explanations, no apologies, no compensation.

Love the location, close to universal studios. Free shuttle in the morning. Free hot breakfast. Burger King in parking lot. Very clean and quiet. Would stay here again.
