Lovely boutique hotel in a great neighborhood with convenient in and out of the property. Nicely appointed but small-ish room but I was by myself on this trip. Assume I’d have a larger room if I was traveling with my husband?

The Brentwood Inn staff exceeded all expectations; very accommodating, courteous, attentive and wonderful. The hotel rooms are somewhat spartan - small and unfancy - but perfectly clean and well-maintained. The only restrooms are in the rooms, meaning don't arrive before check-in, as we did, and expect that you can use the "facilities." There are none for public use. The lounge areas (lobby and patio) are not spacious, but they are comfortable and we enjoyed several hours with our friends out on the patio on the evening of our arrival. The primary purpose of our visit was to go to the Getty Museum and the hotel was perfectly positioned for us to do that, though I think I read somewhere that it was within walking distance. It may be possible to walk, but not advisable. I'd recommend taking Uber or Lyft as they are cheaper than parking a private vehicle at the museum. For other destinations, there is a subway train station about 2 miles away, which is best reached by a rideshare of some sort. Handy enough though, and cheap transport to downtown and elsewhere. The neighborhood is quiet and lovely, but the hotel is not well-situated for walking much of anywhere, including shopping or restaurants. You need a car or a ride.

Very good, but avoid rooms on the side road

The comfort level in the room was quite nice and the morning breakfast was a appetizing lay out. but frankly this boutique hotel is a touch crampted for public space. Also there is no elevator not even a tiny French retro fit lift to get bags up to the two upper floors. The extra $42 a night for parking was certainly not anticipated and we did not remember any mention made of that in the listing.. Lastly the room rate seems a little high given the shortcomings of the amenities oustide of the nicely furnished rooms and the well laid out breakfast.
