Caswell Resort Hotel

The view of Lake Bernard on the porch of our cabin was truly magnificent. The price you pay is for the view. This property has a lot to be improved, it has a potential to attract tourists in a small town such as Sundridge. Unfortunately, the rooms are not well maintained, the amenities are short of cheap (torn towels, holes in the blankets, unvaccumed carpet)

Be aware, that they are under MASSIVE renovations!! We had booked two nights in advance and stayed Friday night. The mattress was so uncomfortable that we didn’t sleep well at all. And the door didn’t seem secure as the top looked slightly ajar with a mediocre lock. I was not made aware of the many renovations that they have taken upon themselves. From the pool and dining room not open, the lobby is a mess with furniture all over. I asked nicely for a refund for Saturday night as our plans had changed and we are not staying in town another night. And we need to have a good nights sleep. They refused to give me a refund for one night and let me know that they have to check the room to see if they can give me my deposit back. I called Expedia as I had booked through them but payed at the hotel so there was nothing they could do, as the manager had also refused the refund. If you do stay here please be aware and pay through another source as this business only seems to want your money.

Location, view of the lake, room was comfortable, no tv but there was a small monitor, very little channels, need better lighting but it was a nice stay.

The beds were comfortable, but the carpets were bit unclean. The biggest problem is the patio lights which were lit up for the whole night, they were enormously bright enough that one cannot sleep. I didn't find a switch to turn it off and I will have to say our sleep was affected very badly

Booked a night while camping to get out of a storm. Slept better and felt cleaner in the woods.

It was great right by the water Just wish washroom had more room so my partner could get his wheelchair in Next time I would like to take him

We were in a cabin, nice view of the lake. Beds were comfy and room was clean. Outdated facility but ok to stay. Breakfast not availble and nothing close by was open in the evening or early morning to grab a bite to eat.

Have stayed here for years. New owners. So some renovations going on. Very friendly. Just a couple of things. They advertise they have a pool and sauna. However when you get there they say it is closed due to covid-19 as they could not possibly change the water everyday? There is a gym however they rent it out to a local business and if you want to use it you have to call that business and pay for it. When looking through a local guide, they advertised this gym and said that they offer training at the gym along with a pool and sauna! Not sure whats going on. If we had known, we might have reconsidered staying here. We used the lake which was nice and shallow for kids. There is really nothing to do in the area. Ever since they put in the highway that by-passed all the little small towns everything has died out. You have to drive about an hour to Huntsville or Northbay. But honestly you are on vacation to relax, not run around all over the place and like I said very friendly new owners! Hope they can bring back the Caswell to its former glory!
