Uncomfortable, over charged, and possibly not safe
When we pulled into the parking lot we were greeted with piles of construction debris, including old bathtubs piled up. At first we thought we had the wrong place and wondered if we were in a safe area. The hotel was “clean enough”, but very tired and worn. We chose this location partially for the pool, but it was closed and we weren’t told until we got to our room and found a piece of paper telling us that.
This hotel still uses tiny bed pillows that seemed to be a trend for a while. And they only gave us three for two guests in a king sized bed. We were both miserably uncomfortable, and I’m not kidding when I say it was one of the worst night’s sleep of my life. On top of that, the air conditioner was loud and didn’t work that well, although we managed to come to a setting we could agree with after a while (we normally keep our a/c on about 72, but we had to turn this down to 64, so clearly the thermostat needs calibration).
Finally, when we checked out the total amount came to $24 more than our guaranteed rate, which included all taxes and fees. Front desk was unable to explain the extra, and because we were in a hurry to get to the funeral we were in town for we paid and resolved to correct the issue later.
I don’t expect much from Hampton Inn, but I certainly expected better than this, especially for the price. Learn from our experience and don’t stay here. I wish we hadn’t.
