Found Hotel Boston Common

Buyer beware! Check the small print , this is not a legit hotel they offer very low prices if you want to sleep with 3 other people in your room. Probably for $20 you can share a bed too. This disguises itself as a hotel and sells bunk space. Typical bait and switch used car salesman tactics.

Great location in the heart of the city. Close to the theater District and Chinatown. A quick trip to-and-from the airport (traffic depending of course). Close to the Charles, and other wonderful Boston experiences. Rooms are chic and modern dormitory style. My room was extremely clean. Downside: you can hear everything- outside, upstairs, next door, the hallway. If you want a goodnight rest, I probably won’t recommend this hotel. The air conditioner in my room would make a horrible kick noise every time it would turn on. The elevator is slow - you’re better off taking the stairs. I also noticed as I was leaving that there were a few rooms that had had the numbers fall off and they were across the floor... The reception was not very welcoming - asked for my name and handed me a key. They do have luggage stowage. They have coffee and tea...as in a Kuerig in the housekeeping quarters downstairs. A bit odd for a hotel that is trying to be swanky.

Electrical work being done on our hotel of which we were not informed of in advance. Odd bed size, queen size that was a bit smaller than a usual queen. No dresser and very small table. Closet was adequate size. Side of bed was very close to wall making it a bit awkward for one of us to get out of bed.

I had a decent stay in the hotel. With the exception of the power now working when I checked in and being out throughout the night. They attempted to use a mobile generator to power the building and the power wasn’t consistent. Me mor my parenter could get a good night sleep due to this. My next issue which is probably just me complaining, but the check in was at 3PM. Usually, in my experiences hotel rooms are available by 12-1PM. Although it was an unfortunate setback, my partner and I found things to do in the city to keep us occupied until it was time to check in. Overall, the place wasn’t bad.

The room was surprisingly small and the hotel was without reliable power. During my stay there was an industrial generator parked out front that hummed as it ran. When the crew switched over to normal/house power, the lights strobed. And they switched back and forth during the evening making it a challenge as there were dark periods. I ended up tethering my computer to my phone as the wifi cycled along with the various power outages. The location is good ...
