"My stay at Westgate Resorts had both positives and areas for improvement. The resort itself is beautiful, very clean. We especially enjoyed the evening entertainment, pool area, and water park.
However, the check-in experience was not very welcoming, and it was concerning to hear rooms might not be ready despite the 4:00 PM check-in time. There is no housekeeping and we had to call twice for towels.
We dined at two restaurants on the property. At Amigos, the staff was friendly; however, the food quality did not meet expectations. In contrast, the food at Sid’s restaurant was very good, although the overall dining experience was impacted by slow and somewhat disorganized service. Despite the restaurant being approximately 75% empty, the wait time was around 45 minutes, and the staff did not appear particularly welcoming.
On our third day, the power in our room went out. Maintenance addressed the issue promptly the following day, which we appreciated. Had we known the circuit breaker panel was located behind the mirror, the issue may have been resolved sooner.
My main concern was the 10:00 AM checkout time, which feels unusually early. Extending checkout to 11:00 AM would significantly improve the guest experience. While I understand the operational need to prepare rooms for incoming guests, the current checkout policy can make departing guests feel rushed. Overall, property is beautiful improvement in customer service and hospitality would enhance guest experience."
