I chose your hotel specifically because of its central location in Sintra, expecting comfort and quality that reflect the significance of this historic town. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing.
The hotel is, frankly, unacceptably outdated. The elevator only works if you press and hold the button constantly. The restaurant serves uninspired sandwiches and lacks a proper lunch menu. The front desk is staffed by young receptionists who appear untrained and unable to answer the most basic questions about the area.
One rainy day, I was given an umbrella which broke as soon as I opened it outside.
On the evening before my departure, I requested a taxi — the next morning, the receptionist on duty had no idea about the request or my destination.
There was, however, one excellent staff member — Francisco — whose professionalism stood out starkly. I made sure to ask his name because he was the only person in the hotel who truly knew what he was doing.
Overall, every detail of the stay was weighed down by poor coordination and a lack of basic standards. This level of service — in the heart of a UNESCO-protected historic town — seriously damages the image of Sintra as a destination. I believe it’s important not to hide this truth.
