DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Soiled linens, dirty floors, space heater, no smoke detector/fire alarm, leaking Bathroom sink, no garbage can in room. Never stayed in room, had to go and buy another room at a CLEAN motel up the street. Asked for refund from Colonial Inn & Hotels.com, which we never received…. Awful service at Coloniel & Hotels.com

Great Location, Price, Good Value
Checkin was so smoothly delivered I thought I was doing something wrong! I was messaged a code for the front door and my room door. There was a message regarding sending a deposit via a link in the message, which I inquired could be done in-person. Location wise the venue is a win. Vibe wise it felt like “spending the night in nana’s attic,” which is comfortable and homely. Bed was firm, fridge and microwave provided, all amenities were serviceable. It was easy to explore town, even if I visited off-season. Only gripe is that I did have a bug or two to kill, yet the bedding and otherwise was clean for me.

We checked ourselves in around 9:30 pm. There was no instructions on how to turn on the heat and I didn't get any response when trying to reach out to the staff via emails, text message or phone calls (still nothing throughoutour stay). We spent the first night without heat in 30-degree weather. Another guest showed us where to turn it on the next day (the switch is behind a recliner). Great location but literally 0 service or communication.

Perfect location! ALL 🚶‍♂️ DISTANCE!
Everything that would satisfy a bachelor looking to hike the Watkins Glen, hit up downtown in walking distance and not break the bank. Previous reviews were correct, though, per not having a chair in the room. I simply used the lawnchair in my suv. Problem solved. I enjoyed Landon's 🍕, and drove up to Solera brewery, Scale brewery and the Finger Lakes distillery. The Watkins Glen liquor store has good variety, prices are decent. Arrived at the Glen at 8:30am on a Wednesday, and I was the only one there til 9am-still very few people. Good times! Cheers PS The pizza they provide was closed for the season, so hit up Landons.

The noise from the Main Street was horrific. Even with blankets over windows and ac running to mitigate noise, there was barely sleep. Only after 3 am when truck traffic and locals were asleep did it quiet so the kids could sleep. My family didn’t stay the second night and found other accommodations. Due to paid in full ahead of Time, attempting a refund for 2nd night but it may be lost. It was worth finding other accommodations and spend more than to remain. The inn keeper made a special remark that it’s a 7 day warning to cancel the second night - how was I suppose to know 7 days ahead of time at a place I’ve never stayed… that it would be the worst night sleep at a lodging I’d ever had to cancel the second night. Very little empathy, especially for the kids. The inn was nice otherwise and enjoyed the building and history. But I’d not be returning. I do hope this posting is kept up for others to read, and I’m sure others had a better experience. But not for the other two folks I spoke to in the hallway the next morning. Wish it was better - was excited about the place.

Colonial Inn and Creamery review
There was a little confusion about a room change. We did not get another email for the update. But the motel was not unmanned as previously stated, and Mario figured it all out and accommodated us with a very nice room. He was also helpful with info on the area. Coffee at all hours in the common area was nice and the bed very comfortable. Best of all, we could walk the 4 minutes to Watkins Glen state park.

Staff was fantastic and location was within walking distance to everything. I do know that there is remodeling going on but Room 8A very dated. Questionable stains on old carpet, bed had big dip in middle and window AC did not fit window properly so flies entered and had to put towel up. The rocking chairs in front were a great place to sit and enjoy the amazing ice cream.

We enjoyed the cozy little room and the creamery on site! Would recommend Nickel’s BBQ in town as well as the Blackberry Inn Cafe for breakfast. The hotel is close to the state park and they let us keep our car there even after we checked out. Would highly recommend!
