6/10 Good

The room itself was clean and tidy. Unfortunately, the radiator in the wet room was not working. This made the room cold when having a shower. The shower itself required attention as there was no pressure at all, making it extremely difficult to have a decent shower.

Very disappointed

The pub was closed so you can not get a drink or a meal on Mondays or Tuesdays. I managed to stay in this hotel without physical seeing a single member of staff as there are non on duty. You get given a door code and a phone number. When I made the booking it was not mentioned that the whole place is closed. This is not local to any pubs or restaurants, they are at least a 10 minute drive to get a meal. Even breakfast was help yourself with no staff present. Would I stay again, No.

8/10 Very good

Good welcome - cheap and cheerful which is just what we needed for a simple B & B stay
David, 1-night trip

Don't expect a breakfast it's just a Bed!

What can i say, on a positive the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, staff polite, but for us let down massively by the breakfast, in our opinion a really poor self service attempt, coffee sachets, some bread for toasting and jam, a few cereals, yogurts and a bowl of fruit is hardly what i expected in this B&B, definitely an insult to even try to call it a continental breakfast, they would honestly be better off not offering breakfast at all for what was on offer here, the worst breakfast i have seen in a B&B, i have worked in the hospitality trade for nearly forty years and know all about costings so please dont use that as an excuse, so conclusion is, if you just want a comfortable room to sleep in its fine, if you expect a Bed & Breakfast! you will sadly be left disappointed and not ready to start your day.

We were running late and required a late check in. Chris was massively accommodating and we sorted out payment and door codes very easily. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was simple but very well laid out. have recommended the Trooper Inn as a place to stay for the business I work for, as an option to stay when in the area.

True Measure

Our stay at The Trooper was cut short due to a personal health issue, however the management and staff were most helpful and understanding at all times and this, I believe, is a good pointer for any traveller. We certainly hope to go back to The Trooper.

Not enjoyable

On arrival I noted that the place was in virtual darkness, A lady answered the door and then told me the bar and restaurant were closed. Petersfield is 4.5 miles away. Having been on the road since 6.45 this was not welcome news. When i returned from Petersfield the place was in darkness. It seemed I was alone.I went to my room. An hor or so later i heard some movement and somebody tried opening my door. This was rather worrying. I did not sleep and i felt awful in the morning. Not an enjoyable stay. Please check that the place is properly open!.
