The room was a suite. Nowhere comfortable to sit. It was impossible to use the shower without flooding the bathroom. Poor design. The staff wasn’t helpful in terms of finding restaurants etc. and of course, had to keep windows closed to keep out second hand smoke from the patio below

A beautiful hotel in a traditional part of the old city. The room was very clean and well presented. Hotel staff in the Reception and Restaurant were helpful and friendly. I have stayed at this hotel quite a few times and it’s my first choice when in Basel.

Great city!
Great central location although it’s up a big hill.
Pretty old but super roomy.
Bed was 2 singles pushed together and pretty firm.
Loved the coffee maker.
Close to many attractions and lots of reasonable dining and public transit - which is free with a card from the front desk! Also took advantage of half price bus and AWESOME ZOO.
