Overall it was a nice stay. Location is amazing, easy walk to both Bourbon and Frenchman streets. Our room was on secon floor and there is no elevator, the stairs leading up are a very steap spiral staircase. Room was nice enough and bed was very comfortable A few things that we didn't like were the water pressure was non existent in the shower like literally a dribble also you had to turn on shower for 4 or 5 min before the hot water arrived. We chose this hotel because of courtyard and hot tub but the hot tub only worked 1st day. Front staff was cordial but not openly friendly like you see all over New Orleans.

8/10 Very Good

Clean with comfortable bed, lacking in amenities.
Overall the customer service was great, aside from a miscommunication at the beginning of our stay. We added a night through hotels.com, and after the first night I got a call accusing us of failing to vacate our room on time when we were in fact staying for another 4 nights, and had confirmed twice verbally with another staff member that we would have no issue. The person apologized but this was not a great way to start our trip, minutes before starting a pre-planned tour. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but the climate control didn't work great and we found ourselves getting overly warm at night. Also difficult was that there was no fridge in the room, which was a drag, as it meant we had no place to put leftovers after a meal or to store beverages, snacks, etc. if we wanted to come back to the room during a break between activities. The listing on Hotels.com says there is a shared fridge and a shared microwave; this is not true. There was only one small chair and no desk, so again, not really inviting if you needed to kill 45 minutes to an hour before dinner, for example. The lack of guest laundry facilities was also a challenge.

$275 for one day total. 👎
Hard to find they charged $40 a day for parking. We were not aware of that when we booked. No backup generator. We woke up to a hot room and spent the morning in the dark. We then decided to go home a day early. We asked for a refund but they said no.

Would stay here again…:)
Great location for NOLA… close to the market & Frechman street; actually close to everything. What we didn’t realize was that this was on the third floor with no elevator. The room was large with wooden floors and a balcony. Staff was friendly & helpful in every way. Would definitely stay here again

The Lamothe House is a beautiful historical building. It’s charming and elegant. The French Courtyard is well maintained. The pool is clean. The staff is great very friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. However, outside the hotel can be a little off putting because there is a lot of homeless that loiter around the area.

Great Location & Experience
Had a wonderful stay here! Loved the property and the management was incredible. We had a small issue with plumbing (understandable with an older building) and they were so quick to fix and provide us with alternative services while it was getting fixed. Would definitely come back again! Shout out to my girl Gabby too :)

Rooms vary in size quite a lot; ours was small but tidy. Bed was good, sheets and towels in good condition. Rooms at rear, adjoining Kerlerec Street, can have partiers passing by in the wee hours. Room did have a coffeemaker and K-cups. A few rooms have mini-fridges; ours did not. Lamothe is one of four hotels in a small chain here, the only one offering parking at $40/day. Overall, I'd give it a very good value for the price.

Good value, room for improvement
The Good: easy check-in/out, friendly and helpful staff. King room was very clean, and spacious for a single traveler. Wi-Fi worked fine, bed was comfortable, though the pillows didn't offer much support. Areas for Improvement: there was no safe in the room. This is pretty standard at even budget hotels. There was also no functional deadbolt on the door. The door had a bolt, but it was covered, rendering it non functional. The door instead was limited to a security latch (the kind that have basically replaced chain latches), and one side of the door could be bolted into the door frame. Maybe that's enough, but particularly with doors that face directly outside, the lack of a deadbolt was curious. I should note though, that by facing "outside," I mean into a courtyard/alley which requires key access - your room door is not directly open to the street. Water pressure in the shower was pretty poor. Washing and rinsing hair really took some extra time because of this. The sink was clogged with a very slow drain. Generally the room was quiet but less so on weekends, given the proximity to Frenchmen. Some noise spills over from there into the wee hours, as well as loud folks walking the streets after a night of partying. My room was also an adjoining room. Though my neighbors weren't unusually loud, a good bit of noise through the shared door. I would stay here again, but it would not be one of my first choices. But in cases where the price is unbeatable, maybe.

Overall the hotel is in great condition. The rooms are nice, the courtyard and pool are gorgeous, and it's a terrific deal. Downsides? In the carriage rooms in the back (where I stayed) the walls are thinner than the brick walls of the main house. You can easily hear people talking through your walls. I was also right next to the back gate, which you can enter and exit using your room key, and it slams so hard it woke me up during the night more than once. It's a minor quibble, but you might want to ask them for a "quiet" room when you book.

We wanted to stay in an old New Orleans hotel and Lamothe fit the bill. Gorgeous antique lobby. Courtyard was just lovely. Stayed in a very quaint state room. Loved it. TV was weird, like you had to cast it off your phone. We’ll be back!!!
