This is alovely 4 star hotel close to the centre of Kolkatta and idelally located for shopping or sghtseeing, with both main railway stations easily accessible. Everything from the sytle of rooms, the quality of fixtures and the bright breakfast dining room are top notch. Nice to have a balcony to see waht's going on oustise or just relax in the sun. […] It is well suppported by the friendliness and knowledge of the staff with kolkatta Metro system about a 10 minute walk away. You can get everything you need from local shops outside the front door of the hotel otherwise there are many markets and shops in any direction including the famous Maidan which contains the , St Paul's Catherderal, Palace and Birla Planetarium all very close to each other and near the hotel. The staff are extremely helpful. The hotel is very homely and clean, and the restaurant's food is fantastic. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I will stay here again should I pass through Kolkata again!

I cannot understand the positive review of this hotel. It trusted the positive comments.. i shouldn't... : 1/ I arrived very early in the morning (5am) but I booked the room for the whole night. Hotel was aware about this late arrival, however when I arrived all the rooms were occupied!!! I waited more than 1 hour (after a 24h trip, great!) to have […] a room. 2/ the noise insulation is terrible, I wasn't able to sleep the first two nights. 3/ the neighbourhood are terrible; if you're not used to India poverty, don't go there! 4/ breakfast is good but the choice is very tiny 5/ breakfast room is very small, you've to wait for a long time to access breakfast. I had some appointments, so sometimes I hadn't breakfast. that's a shame. 6/ Internet connexion is terribly slow. Continua a leggere

Bad/ Dirty neighbourhood given the expensive rates. Checked in late, called hotel and informed in advance. Booked 2 rooms - one deluxe, one executive. Clean rooms. Executive was ok, bathroom in Deluxe was not good - problem having a warm shower. Complementary breakfast buffet was good. Overall stay was ok.

We were a group of 3 women and we had paid for 3 single beds there were only 2 single beds in the room and it was almost impossible to get another bed despite numerous requests eventually we got a fold up bed which was not what we had paid for,staff while courteous had no clue of anything.place was clean and safe.hot water for shower was very scarce..location […] oh hotel excellent. This hotel is close to everything, central Kolkata, it is about 30mins from airport but that was at 1 0'clock in the morning, lovely breakfast, small smorgasbord, Landry very cheap and beautifully presented, pressed and folded immaculately, staff quite attentive, I was quite ill at checkout and they allowed us to stay till 2pm, at no charge, quite nice […] of them. We stayed here twice. Each time when we arrived they did not have available the type of room we had reserved. The second time we were given a downgraded room. Their check in system appears ad hoc and chaotic. We were told we could pay by credit card and were then told they only accepted Indian cards. extremely poor location.filth all around. staff friendly and helpful but unproffesional. food adequate. cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired regarding towels,sheets etc. i will certainly not stay there again.

WIll go there again. Great central location, double-glass windows, airconditioning, elevator, friendly service, free wireless internet, even a bathtub etc., all the things that I need. But if they can cut down the internal noise - whenever a room door is left open somewhere, a prolonged beeping noise ensues - probably due to the airconditioning - which […] people in noise-ridden Calcutta are used to, but we from the West would prefer not to have to deal with. Also the beeping noise of the lift arriving at every floor is quite evident - maybe some sound insulation would help. When housekeeping comes, they should not independently decide what to throw away. My wife kept her used medicinal spoon on a special paper towel (she had a short supply of these) for continued use - the towel was repeatedly thrown away though she had hoped to use it again. Hotel its comfort, condition, cleanliness is quite good but service especially the behaviour of the front desk was below standard. They were attending phone enquiries while guests were standing in front of the desk. then again they kept guests waiting and filling forms for minuits which could have been done later as everything were pre booked and prepaid. […] . I booked two rooms for two day for my family during their trip to Kolkata from Seattle, WA. According to them, this hotel is #1 in cleanliness from lobby to room, good customer service and also the hotel offers excellent breakfast buffet (included w/ stay). They definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers.

It was one of the better hotels which we stayed while on vacation in India. It is a newly built hotel, so it is clean and well maintained. The staff was very helpful. It is close to India Museum and not too far from other major attractions. But the size of the room and the amenities were not enough for four star hotel.

This is a good hotel. A bit pricey (USD 80/night) given it's not even a 3 or 4-star I think officially, but def in centre of city. that could be a curse also if you dont want to get in the craziness of the city. but if you like to be centrally located in the crowd as well, this is great. also, when I took the cab there, it took an hour at off-peak hours. […] so be ready to keep time in hand on regular times. finally, the cab driver told me that in the past there were major local (racial) fights in that area. so until recently cabs didnt even want to drive to this area. now I heard it's fine.. but FYI. overall, it was fine. room was spacious enough... although late night there were loud parties and music sounds coming from my alley that no one else seemed to mind! The staff was excellent. The restaurant was excellent with very reasonable prices. The room was clean and nice and adequate in size. Complementary breakfast buffet was very good.

This was maybe a 3 star hotel at most. You have to turn on a switch to heat up your hot water. After turning it on you have to wait for hot water. The shower handle fell off while showering. The people working there were all very nice. Nice view from our window of the trash in the street, that's India.

Upon first impression, I thought the hotel was very nice! However, the room as not as clean as it could have been. The refrigerator did not work in the room. The shower didn't run hot water, when I switched it from the faucet/spout to the showerhead.

The hotel is ok but dont expect much. The room was clean but had old and ragged towels. The minibar does not get anything even slightly cold. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was average. Its very close to park road and other tourist attractions.

Prima hotel al is de kwalificatie van 4 sterren niet juist volgens westerse maatstaven. Kwalificatie van 3 sterren is meer op zijn plaats. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk al zijn ze absoluut niet te verstaan, maar dat geldt voor zo'n beetje alle inwoners in india. Het ontbijt vonden wij beneden elk niveau.
