This was a nice place to stay. The staff was excellent! Room was clean and comfortable with a fun, funky decor that the kids liked.

Office staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean but could use some maintenance such as fixing running toilet, slow tub drain, missing light bulb. WIFI connection was not reliable. Upon entering the room for the first time we noticed empty water bottles under the beds and behind the 'bed/lamp table'. Comforters were filthy with obvious stains and smears! YUCK! Kitchen counter had a sticky red stain that was quite simple to wipe up, but for some reason it just wasn't! Bathroom floor was soooooooo filthy that after placing the shower […] floor town on the floor it left a big streak of wet dust/dirt that needed to be mopped up with other towles. Shower towles were about the size of most dish towls and they were very rough and stiff. I went to the office and asked if they had a courtesy toothbrush because mine was dropped and I didn't want to use it again. I wonder how much a five star hotel cost in Okoboji? For me, it was a two star hotel. Elsewhere outside of Okoboji with that kind of pricing is for five star hotel. It is clean but, the room is small and the bed was not comfertable.

Although the room appeared somewhat clean it smelled very MUSTY. Newer bedspreads but questionable cleanliness of the carpet. The bathroom door would not close unless forced and then someone on the outside had to push it open. The phone in the room did not work. Night staff was friendly but the woman at the desk during the day exuded dissatisfaction. […] The cost of the included breakfast seemed to be controlled by limiting selections at any given time. Example: Gravy is available but no biscuits; later biscuits are available but no gravy; more gravy put out but it is cold. When asked about a microwave to warm the gravy the answer was to turn up the crock pot and wait. Everything was nice. The pool was clean and fun. The area around the pool had like a picnic area it was very nice with place to grill. a camping atmosphere. the rooms were clean and spacious except the bathrooms are a little small to move around in. Very unhappy with the motel. When I went to check in at the desk, I was greeted by the person, "Oh, I thought you were attacking me!" Very odd comment and alarming. The toilet seat was cracked, shower had rust around the drain, the countertop had been damaged and patched...very unsanitary looking. The room was ok. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. On both mornings we were there, the gravy was cold and the biscuits were dry. On the second day, there was no plastic wear but spoons. There were on plates out. There was no regular coffee ready.There was a couple mini muffins left. Were not too pleased with it.

The place was a dump, Carpet was wet and stunk up the room. They had a fan runing in the room in an attempt to dry it out.

We had stayed here about 17 years ago and it was a little run down. They have remodeled the whole place and it's a very nice place now. The continental breakfast was one of the better ones we have experienced- biscuits and gravy (biscuits could have been warmed up, but I just put mine in the toaster), waffles, cereal, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, etc. […] Nice. We had plenty of ice from the ice machine, usually you're waiting for the ice to freeze and catch up, but not here. Nice outdoor pool. Very friendly staff. I'd highly recommend Abe's Okoboji Inn. Was upset because initially they said they had no record of my having a room there. They kept saying dont worry we have rooms available. I said I want this room as I have paid for it. I had not printed out my confirmation I did have to have a friend look up my number and was ok. Had a hard time getting to sleep as people next to our room were sitting […] like right outside our door till midnite..drinking talking loudly. Housekeeping was untimely and poor quality. I had to empty my own trash can(one small one given in bathroom) to the outside dumpster 4 times. If they have kitchenettes, a kitchenette trash can should be present! Frig needed defrosting. The bed making was atrocious....need to have lessons in how to make a bed...comforter was left wadded up in the middle […] of the bed. extra shampoo and shampoo was not left everyday. We needed a place to stay unexpectedly at 11 at night...for 8 people. Expedia recommended Abe's and it was perfect! Plenty of room and family friendly! We'll definitely be returning!

Needed a place to stay while we checked out all the fun stuff in Okoboji. This place satisfied that need without charging an arm & a leg. Could have been a little closer to lakes, but it wasn't too bad - just not within walking distance. Clerk was new and not able to give us very much information but was able to direct us to the tourist information […] center where we were able to get the information we needed. Room was clean if a little outdated. Outdoor pool was a little chilly at 8:00 in the morning but clean with comfy loungers to lay out on. Will definitely stay here again if in the area. Very basic motel, older style but clean, spacious room. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The room (2 queen beds) was in need of updates, but was very, very spacious. Beds comfortable. Bathroom door would stick when opening it - a little hard for the kids. The breakfast was basic but good. The biscuits and gravy were excellent - a favorite […] of mine so that's what I had each morning. Kids liked donuts and cereal.
