The Salutation Sandwich

The Salutation is a wonderful haven for a short or long weekend break. The suite, with bedroom and living room (fully stocked with drinks) and the kitchenette make you feel comfortably at home in beautifully decorated surroundings. We went for a short break here after seeing the hotel on Channel 4's "4 in a bed". The hotel staff were excellent and pretty much everthing you could want was provided. The houise and grounds are beautiful, the gardens will be lovely in the spring/summer (february not the ideal time to see them). The cottage we stayed in was perfect, like being at home […] only cleaner and with better furniture! The only tiny gripe is that internet connectivity locally and tv reception was very poor considering this is in kent, which is not very remote.That is down to infrastruture providers, not the proprietors. It would be great for a small corporate offsite or group gathering, provided you don't need to be online all the time, or for a complete getaway without having to travel too far, for couples. The Salutation was a very comfortable residence, with full complimentary drinks, excellent surroundings, splendid breakfast. Our only comment is that the walls to the adjoining bathroom were a little thin, but this was not enough to spoil our three night stay. We'd return.

A wonderful place to stay! Really enjoyed our stay, but unfortunately it was only for one night as a birthday treat. The gardens were gorgeous, and was nice to be able to walk round them at any time. The only slight disappointment was the length of time it took to cook breakfast, but we enjoyed talking to the other 2couples staying at the hotel, and […] we weren't in any hurry!
