Brown's DownTown Lisbona

E' stato un soggiorno brevissimo in quanto si trattava di uno scalo di volo ma e' diventato un'idea per una futura visita a Lisbona, naturalmente con base al BROWN'S, non si puo' chiedere di meglio : qualita', cortesia ,pulizia, comfort, posizione, prezzo. Lo consigliamo vivamente !

Albergo in posizione ottimale per visitare la città di Lisbona. Collegato benissimo ai mezzi pubblici. Arredato con gusto e dotato degli accessori indispensabili e qualcosa in più (phon come quello di casa, bagno schiuma e crema corpo di qualità..). Unica pecca la porta scorrevole del bagno che lascia poca privacy e se chiusa del tutto impedisce di […] chiudere la porta della doccia (almeno nella mia camera). L'albergo è in posizione centrale, comodissimo per visitare Lisbona. Il personale è disponibile. Gli ambienti sono belli e nuovi. Nella stanza spaziosa avevamo a disposizione il computer con accesso a internet gratuito ed un angolo cottura con tutto il necessario per cucinare.

Posizione ottima, imac in camera, connessione internet inclusa nel prezzo e cucinino utilissimi, personale disponibile. Stanza piccola ma ci si deve solo dormire, unica nota negativa un odore poco gradevole che arriva dal bagno; per il resto ottimo.

L'hotel si discosta molto dal clima generale di Lisbona, ma offre stanze confortevoli e ipertecnologiche. In camera c'è un I-Mac con accesso free ad internet, una radio con docking station per I-Pod, un piano cottura ad induzione, un lavello ed un pensile con un set da cucina completo. Il bagno è pulitissimo, come il resto della camera, e completo di […] tutto (tranne il bidè chiaramente, ma fuori dall'Italia è pressocchè introvabile). L'hotel è in piena Baixa, a due passi da tutto. In pianura trovi, da un lato Rossio e dall'altro il Tejo. Sali da un lato e trovi il Chiado e il Bairro alto e dall'altro l'Alfama. Intorno è pieno di locali per mangiare (da evitare quelli con i camerieri di fuori che adescano i clienti). Sarebbe auspicabile un po' più di cordialità da parte del personale della reception, ma penso faccia parte del carattere dei portoghesi. Continua a leggere

Posizione superlativa, a due passi dalla fermata della metro Baixa-Chiado e ad un passo dalla zona pedonale. Abbiamo scelto la camera piccola, quindi eravamo preparati, ma nonostante il poco spazio non è mancato assolutamente nulla, anzi, abbiamo trovato molto di più: arredata in stile moderno-design e ben strutturata, con I-Mac, postazione I-Home e […] megaschermo al plasma. Parquet a terra, lettone comodo, specchiera immensa, aria condizionata funzionante e possibilità di cucinare grazie alla minicucina dotata di fornelli elettrici, stoviglie e tutto il necessario, frigorifero e, ovviamente, il normale bollitore. Chiaro che, dopo tutto questo popò di roba all'arredatore non è rimasto spazio per un armadio, ma il piccolo stand è più che sufficiente se non devi portare con te tutto il guardaroba. Bagno in camera bello, pulito e quasi comodo (unico neo la porta della doccia che, se non aperta con attenzione, avrebbe allagato tutto) e dotato finalmente di asciugacapelli decente con diffusore, non di quelli ridicoli che si trovano di norma in albergo. La vista dal balconcino non era eccezionale, poiché affacciava su un cortile interno piuttosto fatiscente, ma in via di ristrutturazione. La reception è aperta 24 ore su 24 ed il personale è stato disponibilissimo e cortese. Mi piacerebbe trovare alberghi così in tutte le città con questo prezzo!! Continua a leggere

Siamo una coppia ed abbiamo soggiornato in questo Hotel dal 24 ago al 31 ago, vi dico subito che la scelta di questo hotel si è rivelata quanto mai comoda ed appropriata. L'hotel si trova perfettamente al centro del quartiere della Baixa dove si concentrano la maggior parte di negozi e ristoranti e dove dalla mattina alla sera c'è un via vai costante […] di turisti. La posizione dell'hotel permette di raggiungere facilmente ed in poco tempo tutte le altre zone di lisbona (addirittura il Chiado ed il Barrio Alto erano raggiungibili passando attraverso la metro...ovvero entravamo dall'ingresso della Baixa ed usavamo le scale mobili che ci portavano all'ingresso del Chiado quindi senza pagare nessun biglietto o attendere la metro). Noi abbiamo alloggiato nella stanza standard (l'hotel divide le camere standard da quelle extra) e sebbene effettivamente le dimensioni erano molto contenute (non avevamo nemmeno l'armadio ma solo un appendi abiti con delle gruccie le dotazioni dell'hotel erano molto comode e confortevoli: - Angono cottura - Attrezzatura da Cucina - Phon - Ferro da stiro con mini asse da appoggiare sul letto La cosa sbalorditiva è che in ogni stanza c'è un IMac, si avete capito bene avrete a disposizione un Apple con connessione WIFI gratuita e TV Samsung da 50" I ragazzi della reception erano molto cortesi e cordiali e parlano benissimo Inglese e Spagnolo ed un pò di Italiano. Concludendo Cosigliamo a tutti questo albergo e mi raccomando mangiate le Pasteis!!! Continua a leggere

Great hotel, really friendly staff - room was excellent. We ate out whilst there but there is actually a small kitchen in the room so you could be a lot more self-sufficient. We stayed in the "suite" room 501 I think - stunning room but i have a few minor gripes; 1) Double bed is actually 2 single mattresses 2) Shower was amazing but leaked really, […] really badly (even with door fully shut) 3) Quite a lot of the lights didnt work - but room was so bright it didn't really matter (only in eve or when In the shower) Nonetheless a great room and hotel and will definitely recommend to anyone i know going to Lisbon and I would certainly stay there if in Lisbon again. Brown´s Downtown, and especially the staff, are top-notch. My grumble, though, is with the current generation of so-called ``modern´´ hotel interior designers. I swear, not a one of them has ever stayed in a room of their design, used the bathroom fully or worked in housekeeping and had to clean and ready a room and bath. In this case, it is impossible […] to take a shower without water eventually covering the bathroom floor. It is nearly impossible to adjust the water in the shower without first getting a head-drenching of cold water. There is a mirror covering one complete wall, but essentially no shelf space for a woman´s make-up kit and-or a guy´s shaving gear. Very nice modern hotel in the center of town. Computer in the room along with an iPad if you don't bring your own. WiFi was great. Parking only on the street which can be scarce or in the very expensive (€35 for 24hrs) public lot a short 5 minute walk away. We enjoyed the comfort and style of our room. An excellent stay in a great hotel. Well located for access to Lisbon tourist sites and eating places Fully equipped room with iPad and Mac faciities.and small "kitchen" facility. The only downside was the leakage of cigarette smoke smells in the corridors and partially into our room.

First the position of the hotel is brilliant for visiting Lisbon. Everything easy walking distance. Problem is the hotel markets itself as a funky designer place, at the expense of simple practical requirements of a hotel. Our room was perhaps especially bad but some of the concerns would apply to all. Air conditioning. The statement implies that the […] air is conditioned. But on the last night of our stay the so called air con was only pushing out hot air despite the room being hot! Thermostat made no difference. Talk to staff and was told they had just switched the air con from cool to heat as someone had complained about the lack of heat (it was still 18C so not that cold!). Now that is not air con. As our room only had windows onto an internal atrium, even with these wide open there was no cooling breeze. Shower. This leaked vast amounts of water over the floor and the staff said that this was a problem for all rooms. Funky design V practicality. We used a face cloth to stop the worst, but the next day these were not replaced. Musty. The sink had a distinct musty aroma coming from the drain that was somewhat off putting. Sink design. Small funky and flat. So (A) nowhere to put stuff and (B) water stayed on the surface rather than draining. Lighting. Not enough – funky design v practicality On the plus side the iPad+Mac were great. The staff were friendly but seemed unable to solve the issues when raised. The location is great. The style and design is fabulous. Was a little disappointed that the internet was not working very well at all especially when there was a mac computer and ipad in the room.

The hotel is in a very convient location. The only thing I didn't like is you have to be in your room to have the electricity to be active. I left the piece from my key to keep the power running, but the maid took it when she cleaned the room, and I had to go to reception to claim it back. I would stay here again.

Having worked in Rua Augusta many years ago, it's great to find a hotel in the heart of Lisboa, within walking distance of the main shopping, entertainment and tourist areas. Also 10mins stroll to cais do sodre, perfect for train connections up the coast to Estoril/Cascais. Small room was.... Small. But enough room to walk around double bed, so fine […] for crashing out. Style and gadgets were great and staff very pleasant. Only negative comment is that aircon and plumbing was quite noisey between rooms. Rule of thumb - avoid cafes/restaurants on Rua Augusta and main squares - service is average and prices are high. Go a few streets back and pick one of these. Restaurant Palmeira (left of Baixa metro arch entrance) serves typical food, or if thirsty, great cold beer for a fraction of the price. Continua a leggere

What a great little boutique hotel! The area couldn't be more perfect for touring around Lisbon. The staff was extremely friendly, and they even made a reservation for us for dinner. The design details of the room were awesome- from the fresh flowers to the computer. I loved stepping out onto the balcony and watching the street action below. The kitchenette […] was great as well. Although we didn't use it, I'm sure we would've if our stay was longer. The only negative I might say about our particular room was that it was a small space and we had two very large suitcases. Location is ideal, only moments from the metro, cafes, main avenues and tram stop. The hotel is on a side street... would i have walked home alone? No, i wouldnt. Even with my husband, i felt a little uneasy. Lots of drug dealers around the surrounding area too. We were met with a very friendly and helpful manner and the check in was hassle free. Overall […] the condition of the hotel was fine, stay for only one night and you might not notice the wee things. Dirty walls, less than perfect paint work, the shower door doesnt close soaking the bathroom, nowhere put anything more than a toothbrush. No soap at the sink, unless you use the shower gel. A strip broke off the windows and a light fell off the wall within the first day. We slept well.... apart from the 1am awakening every night by the bin lorry doing the nightly rubbish collection in the street below. We were on the 6th floor, so found the climb in 42oC heat tough when the lift broke. TV was huge, but channels are very limited to BBC World News and similar. Great view out the 6th floor window. Small kitchen was handy. Staff pointed us in the direction of Sacramento for dinner, which was fantastic. We were in the largest room, 602 (which sleeps 2) there were 10 seats/stools PLUS the bed. The room was so packed with various chairs and tables, we kept bumping our heads on the roof!! Although the chairs were lovely, there really is no need for so many at the expense of space!! The hotel is situated in a really convienient central location, surrounded by the shops & restaurants of Baixa and close to all public transport. The rooms are on the small size (mine was described as a medium and was only just big enough). The bathroom was compact and contains a shower only. My room was equipped with a small kitchenette (fridge, kettle, hotplate). It would have been nice touch if this was stocked with a few basics (tea, coffee, sugar, salt etc.) for those wanting to use the facilities. The bed was actually two singles pushed together rather than a double. I found this to be really uncomfortable and was quite disappointing. I also found that the hotel itself was very noisy. There was a lot of sound transfer from other rooms and the cleaners appeared to have a habit of slamming doors in the morning. This spoilt the stay slightly. Continua a leggere

The hotel was like a loft in NY, I loved it! It was close to everything, in a quiet street just feet away from cafes, restaurants, monuments, buses and trams, trains, and shopping. The staff was wonderful and gave me great suggestions for outings to include a beautiful nearby city Sintra- a must see while there. Although there is no breakfast there […] is a free coffee/hot chocolate machine in the relaxing lobby and every room has a kitchenette which i found adequate for my meals. Centrally located, close to metro and within walking distance to restaurant and bar area. Rooms are pretty funky, cool designs, massive flat screen tv, apple commuter in the room, strong free wifi throughout the hotel.

Love the hotel, very trendy and right in the city centre, walking distance to many places of interest. The hotel have no restaurant but there are Brown's coffee shop & Brown's burger bar round the corner. The kichenett inroom also great, all equipments u needed for small cooking if u wish. IHome is great station dock for Iphone, Ipod & Iphone.
