Stratford House Inn and Suites Temple

I was pleasantly surprised that the 2 queen size bed hotel room also had a fold out couch, coffeetable, kitchen table & chairs, mirco/fridge combo for the price!

Older motel. They had a room for us on second floor but my husband is ill and cold not walk the steps. They had one room but the key card devise did not work. The little manager unlocked it with a key. Even thought they had not been using, the room was clean and neat. Heater worked great. Only problem was only one wash cloth. This is an older motel. Everything was 'alright' at best. Nothing really bad and nothing really good. This is a very average place to stay.

Personnel seemed willing to help with whatever we needed--and the location to the hosp. was good. Noises above our room were bad --shuffling noises and banging noises. I called the front office at 10:30 PM and complained. The man said he'd take care of it. Noises quit pretty soon after that--I went to sleep--but husb. said the noises happened off and […] on all night--he didn't sleep--and he was in need of a good nights sleep prior to going into surgery at 6:00 AM. Room was fairly clean--but tiles missing in various places with raw awful looking wood showing. No drain stopper in sink. Shower head in bath was great! Good water pressure. I guess it is just old --and I have to say the price was cheap enough--all things considered. Husb's surgery was cancelled due to High Blood Pressure and when I talked to the front desk about checking out early they were very concerned and wanted to help in any way. He gave me his card and pho. number so I could give it to hotel.com when I called about cancelling our remaining 2 days. The hosp.said they'd release my husb. only if we went home to see his physician that same day, so we had to check out immediately and drive 3 hrs. to see the doctor. We booked the hotel sight unseen and recommended it to husb's bro. and wife who had come to lend us moral support during surgery. Was a little upset that it was so old, but I feel like they keep it as clean as possible for being old. Needs remodeling. The outside of the hotel was nice looking. We were disappointed when we saw the room however---we remained there mainly due to the closeness to the hospital. We didn't turn on the TV nor partake of the breakfast-so I can't comment about those things..Bed wasn't very comfortable.-..and there must have been a leak from the window AC unit because they had a box of soda opened and in the corner and the carpet looked wet. When i first checked in i did not understand, first of all because of their accent. I then checked in and the room was real hot. they did not turn ac on to help cool room off despite that i called a hour earlier to let them know i was in the vecinity. They did not inform me that even thou i had reservation for 3 nites that i would have to check in every […] day to get key activated so i would come back in the evening not knowing i was locked out, it was hot outside so u can understand my frustration. I asked them the second nite everything will b ok for tomorrow i wont be locked out rite, they said yes everything will be ok. Then what happened the next day ? i was locked out of my room again. very unprofressional. Children were the ones checking u in instead of the real attendant. Well great for the price especially the suite. Easy to check in and people helpful. Likes: Room size, convenience to eateries, mall and main streets. Dislikes: Sofa bed mattress was dirty, missing towels, morning food not worth it (one fruit, no ice, no cold water, no pastries, only waffles, cereal, oatmeal and cool juices. Very helpul staff.
