We stayed here for two nights and it was just great. The room was spacious and clean, a little dated but we were here to see Boston not the four walls of the hotel room. The room had a fridge freezer and microwave which we did not need to use, but could have come in handy. The hotel has a gym which seems popular, we did not have time to use it. Very […] close to one end of the freedom trail, you can walk into Boston in 20 minutes or take the ferry ($1.79), we did both! Great location. Boston trolley tour bus pickups short walk away. Ate evening meal at the Warren Tavern- short walk - amongst lovely homes and history monument. A must for meal and history. The hotel room location, unfortunate for three nights. Amongst noisy school group and their noisy teachers.Hotel staff may need to address this concern. Handy convenience […] store nearby. Breakfast and daytime meals in nearby conference centre with wide selection of healthy meals. Vehicle parking nearby $6 per day. If I had more time and space to write this review it would be 10 pages long.... Overall, please do not stay there unless you absolutely have to (due to price). The security in the building is horrible. The person at the desk was very rude. When I checked in she didn't even verify who I was, just gave me a key. (She did the same to another person who […] checked in). The room itself was absolutely horrible. The vents had tons of dust. My bed had no pillowcases on it when I entered and the bed was dirty. When I called to ask the lady downstairs to change it, she was very rude in letting me know she was the only person there and everyone had left. After I pushed the issue she finally said she would go to the closet and get them for me. When I came downstairs she had the pillowcases just sitting there (which were ALSO dirty). I asked for a fresh set, when I showed here the stains she acted as if I was bothering her. I attempted to take a shower only to find hair in the shower. That did it for me. This hotel was perfect for our stay. We wanted to spend a few days of our spring break in a different city. This hotel was comfortable, small but comfortable. The Y is right downstairs, so if you're one that NEEDS to get a workout daily you'll like this hotel. The only downside is that it's not in the heart of Boston, in fact it's in the Naval Ship […] Yard district. BUT there's a FREE shuttle that will take you to Boston, though at night we ended up taking a cab back to the hotel ($8 including tip). At first you may feel like it's part of the YMCA and the rooms will be low in quality, but it actually uses the funds you pay for to help out the YMCA and Veterans. It does have a good quality gym attached which you can go to, and is about 1 mile walking from the North End which is littered with excellent Italian restaurants and bakeries. This hotel is cheap and clean and fairly comfortable. However, On the night we stayed they lost power- not briefly,-it was off when we got there at 9pm and still off the next morning. There was not a blanket on the bed, only sheets and no hot water for the morning shower, or ability to charge phone etc. So rather annoying overall.

We were surprised with the quality of the room. We stayed for 3 nights and found the hotel staff very nice. The room was very new and was fully equipped has shown in the pictures. Very comfortable, quiet and cheap stay. A free shuttle bus was available to take people into town. We really enjoined our stay and would definitely stay there again.

I was satisfied with the Hotel

We recently stayed here. Some notes: 1) No air conditioning (or at least none that is guest controllable) 2) If you understand that you're staying at the YMCA, don't mind cinder block walls, and don't mind a very institutional feel, you'll be fine. The hotel suited our needs: inexpensive accommodation close to the airport, with easy access to city sight-seeing. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful, even at 6 a.m. The USS Constitution is only minutes away on foot, as is the ferry to Long Wharf, where all the bus tours start.

The Hotel was fine for me and my Family (4 persons). We stayed on the 3. floor facing towards Boston. The Hotel is situated 1,2 miles from the center of Boston, and taking the water shuttle gave a fine view of the water front of Boston. The hotel is not flashy, but with the location and price level I would stay there if I was to go to Boston again

The location was convenient to nearby sights as well as the various trolleys and busses. The staff could not have been nicer. The lady at the front desk recommended The Navy Yard Bistro - within walking distance - it was great!

Room was huge, comfy bed and good TV. Location was fine once we worked out the timetable for the ferry, which only took 10 minutes to get us over to the Aquarium area. Very handy if you want to spend a day doing the Freedom Trail as you can start at Boston Common and finish up close to the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is not luxurious, but is very acceptable. It has reduced rate parking; free shuttle to the subway so you can be at Boston Common within 20 minutes; is in a beautiful area, safe for wandering around even at night; close to breakfast and dinner places. The experience involving our stay at The Constitution Inn is such that I'm writing a review for the first time in the hopes that someone reading will not make the same mistake. We booked two double beds. They checked us into a King. They then moved us to two doubles. The "non-smoking" room had someone stay that had smoked heavily. The beds were "made", […] but loosely as though someone had been staying there and was asked to vacate because we were incorrectly booked. The TV did not work. The bathroom had what appeared to be mold in the corners. The night stand and dresser had holes in the top of them. They then moved us to a third room saying they had no other options. It was better, but I was very disappointed at this point that the website used to find this hotel would list it. Upon taking a shower, we found out there was no hot water. At checkout, guests in front of me at checkout were complaining about the lack of hot water and other services. If going from room to room to room seems like a comedy of errors, I assure you this was no comedy. Now having experienced The Constitution Inn, I would rather sleep in my rental car or on chairs at the airport. Continua a leggere

I have never paid so much to live in a place that was such low quality as the Constitution Inn. The rooms had cinder-block walls and the whole hotel had the feel of a low-budget youth hostel. The beds were uncomfortable and had no blankets on them--only a sheet and a thin comforter. The hotel had an overpowering smell of cleaning product. We only had […] hot water on the first day of our two-night stay at the Constitution Inn, and aside from the USS Constitution museum, there were no attractions or reasonable public transportation nearby. Finally, when we needed to leave our bags behind the counter after check out for a few hours, we found that they left our bags unattended in a room with an open door so that other patrons could go in and out. Although our suitcases did not appear to have been opened while we were gone, the room was far from secure. In short, our stay at the Constitution Inn was overpriced and disappointing. The room was rather old and worn down, but clean. It's not expencive, so you get your money's worth

the room itself is very basic ,clean neat,but dated and bathroom needed work. I loved the area easy on off from route 93 .The navy yard and the rest of the area are clean secure and just a 15 min. ferry boat from longwharf. and the ferry ride is one of the most scenic rides ,well worth the$1.70 trip .

liked the location. Main complaint: I burnt something in the micro and fire alarm went off. Very loud. I called front desk to say all is ok. Couldn't get an answer and finally alarm went off. But no one ever came or called. Made me glad wasn't real fire. Desk staff very helpful. I would stay there again.

The hotel is just not a very clean place ok for a one night stay if you don't plan on spending much time there. The head board fell off the wall in my room no parking I don't see myself staying there again

to far from Boston city

Big old pool with small nice sauna, gym was ok.

The hotel was location really nicely compared to the price. However, we booked a room with a King bed and got two queen size beds. Furthermore, the floor could have been cleaner. And there was writing on the notepad by the bed - not made by us. The staff was very friendly and informative. Best place to stay for more than 1 night. Great amenities for a low price.

In a redeveloping section of Boston, it is a YMCA facility that has a minimum of services and hospitality awareness. Great concept; needs more redevelopment around it, but more importantly more professional management. my friend and i stayed here at short notice. We wanted cheap accom but with graduation week most places were fully booked. We decided to stay here for a little more than we wanted to pay because of its location to the cdb and because it looked like an inviting place. we had our bicycles with us so it was only a short 5 minutes over the bridge to be […] in all the action. and at night it was very quiet having no neighbors and no traffic noise. the surrounding area is very colonial and pleasant. the building its self is fantastic and the ymca facilities make it a fantastic place to stay. if you can get past the slightly odd, but quite lovely front office staff, this old navy yard is fantastic. Hotel very dated. Bathroom fan extremely noisy and must be on when light is on. Refrigerator did not work. Room was very clean for what they had to work with, but lots of easy items could be re-glued, painted, etc. to finish room properly. Using free shuttle to down town was nice. Staff very knowledgeable.

This is a hotel for those looking for no frills. The rooms look like dorm rooms, with concrete block walls. Although I reserved a king size bed, I received a room with 2 full size beds. I left early and was denied my refund. At the least room was clean.

Web page does not make it clear this is a YMCA run facility. Bear bones, no services and uses a two pipe heating and cooling system. Either all heat or all cooling. Occupant cannot switch back and forth. Switch date is determined by manager and once changed it remains for season. Nice neignborhood along harbor, surrounded by expensive condos and offices […] in what used to be a navel yard. A lot of old buildings waiting to be torn down or converted. Landed in Boston at 3pm. Got to the hotel our room wasn't ready yet at 3pm. Waited for a hour.The lady at the front desk was very mean to me and my girl friend. If i were you i would spend a littel bit more money and book with a hotel who takes care of there guest.

Hotel is a great price. The maid didn't clean our room on a daily basis. Our pillow was on the floor, hair on the bathroom floor, tub not cleaned. The staff was helpful to answer your questions. When you turned on the bathroom light, the fan was so loud, you had to turn the tv up each time. It was hard to enjoy a shower, because of the fan noise. Also, […] no sink counter space. The Inn needs to remodel it's lobby, rooms and bathroom. Cabs don't sit there, you have to call for one, and it took sometimes 15-20 minutes to come. Continua a leggere

Me & my boyfriend went for a weekend get-away. Where do I start? We arrive at the hotel & it says it's the Constitution Inn & YMCA. No where on the site did it say anyting about being part of the YMCA. The front desk personnel were watching the Red Sox vs Yankee game and as soon as they realized we were Yankee fans, their attitude changed. I guess […] they take that rivalry more serious then I thought. We get to our room: the carpet was the filthiest carpet I had ever seen in my life. It had stains all over. One of the lamp shades had a red stain which we couldn't figure out if it was ketchup or blood. The tv was seriously old school. The iron kept spilling water on my clothes and the ironing board wouldn't stop rocking back & forth. The curtains didn't close completely so I felt like I was being watched at night. There are definitely more comfortable beds in the world. When the night comes, we wanted to watch tv and what do you know, we had no remote. I called the front desk & asked for a remote. They told me they would send one up. It never came. We gave up and went to bed. The next day after sightseeing, we get to our room and yes our beds were made, but the cleaning person left a pillow and blanket on the floor by the side of our bed, which made me cringe because that meant she threw all the blankets on that GROSS carpet while she "cleaned". We didnt' get fresh towels so we were lucky we hung our towels over the chair. Night came upon us and again, we had no remote. We called the front desk and told them about the remote. The lady on the phone said she would get maintenance to check on it. I asked her how long that would take b/c we requested it the night before and she said he had 3 other tasks to do before mine, but until then (and these are her EXACT words to me): "you'll just have to get up and change the channel until then". Our remote control finally came after 1 hour and the maintenence man had to come program it, since the tv was so old school. And the to Continua a leggere

AVOID this HOTEL this hotel was the noisiest hotel I ever stayed at there were people yelling outside, people running up the hallways, YOU call the fron tdesk and the best they can say is "it has been a bad night". Really no kidding,,, aside from the noise the walls of the room are institutional cynderblocks painted white...makes you feel real special […] aside form the treatment at the front desk. YOu ask for help at the front desk and they have this carefree attitude that they cant be bothered Oh by the way there are no retaurants, bars or cafes with in 2 miles of the place. Making it a very inconvenient location. Did I mention that the Y MCA runs this place,, you can tell. Avoid this place.. I tell you if you book here ot would be a great mistake.. Clean, quiet room, convenient location for sight-seeing and really friendly and knowledgeable desk staff made for a great stay. The location is perfect for historical tourists, just steps away from the USS Constitution and the Freedom Trail, and a 10-minute walk from the Italian enclave of the North End. The Constitution Inn was everything I expected: a place to sleep when I was done touring Boston every day. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, and about a 25 minute walk to central Boston (or even faster by bus or taxi). Overall, the Constitution Inn was exactly what I wanted!
