It is a very good, clean hotel.The staff is very friendly and very helpful. However, the more Spanish you know, the better they will understand you. The English that they use/understand is very, very minimal. The Internet is of very reasonable speed/quality for Peru. The hotel is located very close to the historic centre of Arequipa (Plaza de Armas, […] Monasterio Santa Catalina). There are numerous shops, restaurants, and travel agencies within 5 min. walk. The Post Office, several banks, pharmacies, medical/dental clinics, etc. are close by. I had an enjoyable stay in Arequipa (1 week) and the hotel was part of my satisfaction. "Hotel Mamatila in Arequipa, great value and staff"
I booked this hotel for 2 days and had a tour to Colca for 3 days, left all my excess luggage in the hotel and couldn't be any safer. The staff is professional and attentive and does everything to make you stay comfortable. It doesn't mater if you are traveling alone, with friends or our family, this hotel is a great choice, at a very affordable price. […] The hotel was free wireless with an excellent speed if this maters to you, it doesn't have a restaurant but they will prepare food for you or order from the local restaurants and bring it to you. The only downside is if you are looking for a 5 star hotel with a spa, restaurants and bar, this is probably not a hotel for you. On the contrary to Lima, Arequipa is a very clean city and the hotel follows that philosophy, I strongly recommend this hotel for everyone that wants value for their money, great location and safety.
