"Weekend Stay"
Hotel was quite clean and convenient to shopping and dining. I enjoyed my stay, but there are a couple of things that could have been improved. The first is the housekeeping. Our room never got serviced during our stay. To their defense, we were in the room almost all morning. The room was very nice until my husband found two big stains on the bedspread so we could not lay on it to relax and watch TV. We had a blanket in the car so we used that to cover us up during the night. Did not trust the extra blankets in the closet. The TV had a dark effect to it and the remotes did not have a function button that worked to fix the […] color effect. My husband is an engineer for a local TV station so he knew hot to try to fix the color but the remote would not let us on both TV's in the room. "Great Place to stay!!!"
For the cost this is a very good bargain. The hotel was clean, quiet, and wonderful hotel. The pool was clean, the hotel was clean, and it was close to stores and restraunts. Our room was huge, the pillows were comfy, and the breakfast was hot, which you dont see very often anymore.
The hotel did not have the correct room for us when we checked in and would not correct the mistake. Management was unfriendly and not very helpful.

We wanted something close to the Airport due to us flying out early. This place was great, had plenty of places to eat close as well. The exercise room was great too. The only bad part was the pool being too cold to swim but that was the only negative.

This hotel is fairly new and in good shape. Nice room. Good breakfast. Only thing wrong was the cleaning staff did not refresh the supplies for the in-room coffee maker for the second day.

we stayed at Country Inn and Suites on the way down to the gulf coast. When we decided to stay over in Birmingham on the way back, we stayed there again. It is convenient to RTJ golf course and area restaurants.

An excellent hotel value for this price. Very clean, well equipped - one of the better business centers I have seen in some time, and a very nice area for the ample free breakfast. "For this price, I expected LESS"
The hotel is extremely nice (updated, clean, friendly staff). The price is a complete bargain compared to the prices of the hotels in the immediate area. The staff was very helpful. the location lends to a quick drive to downtown Birmingham. I would recommend this hotel to others and I would certainly stay again!

Had a great room and service. The morning front desk person was very helpful AND the breakfast lady was very friendly and talkative. Overall a great stay for a great price in a Birmingham Hotel - a rare occurrence.
Needs adjustable curtains. My room was so bright all night from the lights outside the hotel I could have read a book without using any lights from the room. Caused me to get very little sleep. Made the next day horrible. I would choose another hotel around the area because the blinds are not adjustable to block out light.

"The Country Inn & Suites Elmwood"
The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Convenient to surrounding universities - Samford and UAB - close to several restaurants and stores. Will definitely stay here again.

"Off the Beaten Path; but worth it"
This was the second time I stayed at this hotel in less than a week. It's nice, clean, and quiet. The clerks and support staff are friendly and my daughter loves this hotel. If you're looking for a view; there isn't one; but if you want peace and quiet, the hotel sits in a circle at the end of a cul-de-sac. Booked through Hotels.com a King, but when I got there they gave me a double queen room. The room was already paid through Hotels.com even if I did not show up so the King room should have been held for me. Person working there said there was nothing they could do for me, and told me to contact Hotels.com. "Country Inns and Suite, 1-65 near Birmingham"
The hotel was clean and it smelled nice. Check-in and check-out was easy. I had one concern with my room. There was a nickel size brown spot on the spread. It wasn't dirty, but it was a stain that did not come out. Breakfast was OK. The hotel ran out of orange juice at 0800 and did not refill. We only stayed one night; but would stay again. "Country Inn"
Room Key failed 3 times. on 3rd trip to front desk, was informed not to place card near cellphone... (1st time would've been better).. Everything else except the breakfast was great... Breakfast inadequately stocked and quality was very lacking.

This my second time at country inn and suites. My first experience was great and so was this one. Rooms clean. Friendly staff. Everything worked! Will be there again
This hotel was very clean and the room was spacious. Only comment is that we requested a non-smoking room and was put in a smoking room. Would go back but would re-confirm the non-smoking part.

This hotel was awesome!!! the front office staff was amazing and allowed me to check in early during my stay!!! The breakfast was nice and I look forward to returning soon.

Our group was to play Oxmoor Valley in the morning and needed a place for 3 people to stay. The hotel's rooms were very spacious and easily accommodated our group. The hotel was very clean, breakfast was adequate and the hotel was within 10 minutes of the course. Overall we were very satisfied and would return.

Never stayed at a Country Inn before, but this was a very nice surprise. Better than I expected. Everything worked fine, very good breakfast choices and this one was close to what we wanted. Definitely stay there again.

I like Country Inn & Suites, but this one was not quite up to the others I have stayed at. The heating unit did not work very well, and mold was in the corners of the bathtub. B'fast was fine, and area is fine. No traffic noise. Check in/out was very "stiff", not your usual southern hospitality.

hotel sits on deadend street, which is fine but there were no directional signs indicating backend location. other than location hotel is standard hotel without bells and whistles.
