"Great stay, wonderful staff"
The Governor's House was a lovely B&B for a mother-daughter get away to Charleston. We didn't even need to rent a car as it was walking distance to most downtown sights. The staff was very helpful in arranging tours/transportation for some of the further out plantations as well as restaurant reservations. I would hghly recommend it!
The historic building is beautiful and there are lots of places to sit and enjoy the building itself. Afternoon tea was a very nice time to enjoy a glass of wine and visit with other guests. Room itself was quite small but nicely decorated. I enjoy a king size bed, which this was not. Queen size bed was comfortable however. |Location was perfect. "Downtown Charleston"
If you want to be within walking distance of anything downtown, this is the place to be! Great location! The staff were very pleasant and 4pm tea was great. Breakfast was pretty good as well. Love the period feel of most of the property. Well kept and comfortable. We stayed in the Independence Room; stayed warm (individual thermostat for the rooms) […] and comfortable bed. "Governor's House B&B---Luxury, Service & History"
This B&B is the fully restored and internally modernized home of Edward Rutledge, signer of Declaration of Independence and Governor of South Carolina. The staff was very friendly, helpful with local directions and bookings and there were excellent amenities (Wine, home-made snacks, etc) available in afternoon and evening.
