Delano Homestead Bed & Breakfast Fairhaven

Big thank you to Paul and Heidi for their hospitality! We were looking for B&B's to stay in while we explored the coastal towns of MA during the off season (2nd weekend of April) and happened to find the Delano Homestead B&B. Paul - the owner and proprietor - welcomed us when we arrived, gave us a tour of the house and showed us to our room. The room […] was very spacious, lots of windows that brought in the spring sunshine, and a huge comfy bed. Being a B&B, our bathroom was right around the corner from our bedroom, but it was clean, spacious and didn't detract from the experience. We were pleasantly surprised at the historic nature of the B&B and the ambience of it, beautiful antiques and stylish decoration. Host was very welcoming and extra helpful re nearby ferry service from New Bedford to Martha's Vineyard. His knowledge allowed us to make the most of our stay on the island. Plentiful breakfast provided.

Gorgeous b&b. Large rooms, very private, very centrally-located. Both Paul and Heidi were delightful to speak with. Breakfast was wonderful - fresh fruit, fresh pastries, abundant selection of food. Overall, amazing stay!

We absolutely loved it!! Our room was comfort bright and clean. The house is gorgeouse built in 1835. Spectacular location in the center of Fairhaven. Can't wait to visit again.

Absolutely a wonderful place to stay. The quality of the staff was welcoming and friendly. Nice and clean rooms.We are definitely going to put it on our top ten place to return!

Elegant and in good taste is how I describe this beautiful old fashioned home filled with solid period furniture, oriental rugs and decorated as it might have been when the owners lived there. We stayed in the Delano room. It is spacious, has a very comfortable King size bed. We felt at home in the genteel environment, much to our liking. Paul showed […] us the living spaces we could utilize the snacks in the kitchen. He, showed us were breakfast would be served and made suggestions about sites to see in Fairhaven, restaurants nearby he recommends. We were only traveling through on our way to Nantucket but were delighted to discover this lovely quiet town, and the homestead which was built in 1832 by a great grand father of FDR. This vistorian bed and breakfast is gorgeous -- nicely renovated, and decorated well in period furnishings. The location is perfect -- surrounded by a lovely garden and exquisite churches and town hall, as well as other victorian homes in the neighborhood and just across the bridge to New Bedford.

Historical FDR family home where FDR stayed several summers. Fantastic architecture and construction. Great restoration and period furniture adds to mystique of home. More like a museum than a B&B though. No one lives there and there's no staff at night. Strange. Glad we spent the one night there, though. Would recommend a stay if you're interested […] but would not want to stay there more than 2 nights max. Boring, a bit musty, too quiet, TV didn't work, decor museum like and not home like. This place was delightful. Victorian decor with 10 fit ceilings. Quiet neighborhood. Lots of breakfast options---they even asked in advance what food preferences we had! Would definitely consider staying again if in the area or jumping off to Martha's Vineyard (the New Bedford ferry to MV is only 5 minutes away).
