Dar El Medina - Guest House Tunisi

Location in the medina is interesting but there is a lot of rubbish about and much of the medina does not look inviting at night. Our room was small with basic furniture and decoration although the decor in public areas is beautiful. Service was generally good and very friendly. Overall quite expensive but worth it for a night or two.

Located right in the medina it was perfect. One night was enough.. Tunis isn't the nicest city. Restaurant at the hotel is okay. Try the restaurant around the corner instead. Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful.

As a couple, we came to Tunis at night and got a taxi to the hotel. The taxi will drop you off by the 1st minister's house, as you cannot drive into the Medina. Don't be put off by the armed guards, they are always there. The hotel is only a short walk from the road, under well lit roads. We got there at night, when the doors were shut so had to knock […] to be let in. We were greeted by friendly staff and were given a glass of refreshing orange juice as we checked in. The hotel was very clean, with individual beautifully decorated rooms, with aircon. There are various courtyards and a roof terrace where you can sit with a nice glass of Tunisian tea. The food was excellent, possibly some of the best meals I had in Tunis. Whilst not all the staff speak English, they are very helpful if you want advice on restaurants or where to visit. If you leave the hotel for a wander after dark or even in the day, one of the hotel staff will walk with you and flag you a taxi to where ever you want to go. The only thing that I would have wanted was some wine with my dinner, but this is an alcohol free hotel. The hotel is well worth a visit though, even if it is for a spot of lunch of some tea. Read rave reviews about this hotel but didn't see anything to rave about. We had 'executive' double room but it was just a double room. Nothing special, small dark bathroom. Friendly staff, patient with my schoolgirl French (they didn't have much English). Breakfast hilarious in a Fawlty Towers sort of way - both days they behaved as though they had […] never had breakfast guests before. The first day one family left after waiting 40 minutes for the boiled egg - and there were only 3 tables of people there so to as though they were busy. Day 2 we were not even offered eggs, coffee one rotii, jam and a cheese slice. But in a nice part of the medina with lovely roof terrace. Continua a leggere

If you've never stayed in a riad-like hotel in a medina you would be charmed by this extraordinary place. Service was a bit slow and the common areas very warm, but overall a good launching point to enjoy old Tunis.

Its an old 17th century mansion in the casbah. Extremely quiet, and in the middle of the old town. No TV or WiFi, but who comes to Tunisia for that? The staff were incredibly nice and helpful! As an anecdote. I left the hotel on Tuesday AM and only when I went through security at the airport did I realize I left my phone in the room. I could not get […] back to the hotel as I had passed immigration already and only had an hour before departure. I called them and asked them to mail me the phone and said I would do the same with their key. They were so concerned that the receptionist drove to the airport with my phone without my knowledge. I heard my name on the loudspeaker and then went to immigration and we passed the phone and key through the police controls thanks to wonderfully kind and considerate immigration police and airline workers who allowed me to cross back through with an escort to make the exchange. The management refused even to let me pay them a tip for their efforts. Wonderful service, way beyond anything I expected, and they also provided free bottled water, tea, orange juice and other refreshments in the evenings... Highly recommended! Continua a leggere

Walked in from a warm sunny day, was greeted with a champagne glass of cold orange juice. Staff very friendly, but didn't speak much english. Convenient location on the only clean stretch of alley in the whole medina. Breakfast was spartan, and some doorways were too narrow to walk through with by backpack on. This hotel was lovely and perfectly located in the medina. You do have to walk in a short bit from the place de gouvernement/place de la kasbah, but it is a short walk. If you are anxious, you can call the hotel and they will send someone to guide you in. Tunis and it's environs are amazing and the hotel is a great base of operations.

とても気持ちの良い快適なホテルでした。たまたま？ TVの収録が入ってましたが、家具調度などもとても素敵です。ただ、朝食は3食全部同じでガッカリ。それでも、スタッフの方の対応その他で相殺です。タクシーが目に前まで入れない？のも難点では有ります。でも、また行ける機会が有ったらお世話になりたいホテルです。

Vi havde kun en overnatning, så svært at tage stilling, men personalet var hjælpsomme med at forklare, hvad man kunne se i medinaen. Dog var der renovationsstrejke, mens vi var der, så det flød med affald i de omkringliggende gader (april 2013). Hvilket naturligvis ikke kunne bebrejdes hotellet, hvor alt var rent

このホテルはメディナ旧市街から間もなくの所にあります。お買い物や散策にはとても便利でチュニスならではの雰囲気を存分に感じられる最高の立地条件だと思いました。私は個人旅行者で１０日間程の滞在でしたが、少々の英語だけで事足りました。スタッフはとても感じがよくフレンドリーで、ルームサービスもとても美味しかったです。（ホテル内にはレストランもあります。）部屋はシングルルームだったのでとても広いとは言えませんでしたが私には充分でしたし、バスタブは大きくトイレの流れもよく清潔で可愛い内装でした。個人的には、屋上のテラスが素敵で毎日通った程でした。（塀を隔てた所にはかわいいワンちゃんがいます。）次回チュニスを訪れる機会があるならば必ずまた、このダルエルメディナに滞在します！外装も内装もスタッフさんにも、私 […] はとても好感が持てました。海外では初めて素晴らしいと感じたこのホテルを、私は高く評価したいと思います。 Continua a leggere

Hôtel de charme, chambres très agréables, spacieuses, patios magnifiques...terrasse très avec vue sur Tunis. Dar el Médina est placé au coeur de la médina, le personnel est disponible et très agréable.

アクセスは、メディナの中なので少々歩き、不便ですが、廻りの雰囲気等を考えると静かに過ごせるいいホテルです。部屋の種類の多様でハード面での満足感はありました。 ただ残念なのは、部屋の荷物の中を勝手に触られ、物色されたこと、また、金品を抜かれていたことですね。チェックアウト当日の朝食時を狙ってのことでした。ドタバタしていたため、後でわかり抗議もできませんでしたが、残念でしかたありません。 ソフト面でのスタッフの質はホテルの根幹ですので、このホテルはもう駄目でしょうね。 場所、部屋の雰囲気等が非常に良かったので、何度も言うようですが本当に残念です。

Hotel Dar el Medina is een prachtig, klein hotel. De kamers zijn verschillend en arabisch ingericht. Het ontbijt was luxe in vergelijk met andere hotels en het personeel ontzettend aardig. Zeker de moeite waard om een keer naartoe te gaan. In de buurt ligt het geweldige restaurant, oud paleis, Dar el Jeld. Een must!
