Hotel Porte Mars Reims

We liked everything about the hotel Porte mars, the staff were very friendly and absolutely the most helpful people. Sarah, the blonde haired lady at reception and the lovely Italian receptionist, with dark hair, are a true credit to this hotel. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel for its staff,cleanliness,comfort and location.

I spent a single night in this hotel and I had a good time. My room was neat and spacious with a large bed and a nice bathroom. Unfortunately no closet in the room but you can survive it. I had a single room on the first floor. Reims downtown is a short and nice walk from the hotel.

The public parking advertised is an open one nearby with no security. The nearest secured parking is 1/4 of a mile from the hotel. The hotel is on a very busy avenue and roundabout, behind the train station. Not a nice area.

We have used this hotel twice this year as a first night stop over after traveling through the Channel Tunnel. Reims is 3 hours from the Tunnel and an interesting place in its own right - and the Porte Mars is ideally situated for exploration of the old parts of the city and the cathedral. Hotel good, if expensive, and easy to find. Nice quiet room, as requested. Short walk to centre. Cars parked on wasteground in a seedy area - a bit worrying but we didn't have any problem.

This hotel was a great find for us. Easy to find, the parking was over the road but free and easy to access. The hotel is situated a pleasant 8-10 minute walk from the main pedestrian area and this will be even easier when the tram starts to run in April 2011 as there is a tram right outside straight into the city centre. The covered market is right […] next door too which you might get lucky enough to catch. The hotel is old, but well maintained - if a little 'french' in decor. Someone has an eye for 'cool' artwork which is everywhere and the family room we had was large, modern and comfy with all mod cons ( air con, bar, tea/coffee, extra towels/blankets,pillows etc) As was the entire hotel, it was immaculate and had everything on offer you could want, including a bar/salon, papers, music, and lots of information at the front desk. Breakfast was generous and we were not charged for the children to eat. Fresh bread and croissants were on offer as well as cereals, cheeses, meats, yogurts, fruits and every kind of drink. The patron was very kind and friendly, and we had a very pleasant and comfortable stay. My only red flag for anyone who is a nervous traveller or travelling alone, with children or those easily offended, is that the hotel is right in the heart of a red light area, which might mean a few associated undesirables hanging about late at night, however we didn't feel threatened by this and were only aware because we arrived very late at night to a hotel just around the corner the previous week!! Chambre agreable, bruit inexistant . Seul bémol le déjeuner (cher par rapport à la prestation et ce jour là , la salle etait trop petite pour contenir les nombreux touristes)

excellent accueil; parking (non gardé) pour voitures, proche et gratuit.

Vlakbij de invalsweg vanaf de snelweg, op enkele minuten loopafstand van het centrum. Parkeren geen probleem, gratis bovendien. Onze kamer aan de voorzijde van het hotel was klein maar proper, met uitzicht op de Porte Mars en (in de verte) de kathedraal. Uitstekend verzorgd en uitgebreid ontbijt.

bien situé à l'entrée de Reims.Parking gratuit à 100 M de l'Hôtel. Douche étroite. Personnel serviable. Endroit pour prendre le petit déjeuné n'est pas agréable, table au milieu d'un amas de fauteuils entassés les uns sur les autres,j'avais l'impression d'être dans un débarra.

Accueil agréable. L'hotel est bien situé, à 10 min à pied de la cathédrale Les chambres sont un peu petites, surtout la salle de bain.
