Open Gate Praiano

A very friendly family run hotel in a beautiful location on the outskirts of the town. It was therefore a 15 minute walk to the town centre. We were made to feel very comfortable and the only criticism is that the bed was very firm. Food was good and there were a good selection of reasonable local wines. All rooms seem to have a balcony. We were on […] the second (top) floor and had stunning views out to sea and of the local coastline. The location is good for the Amailfi coast. We had a hire car and Sorrento (for Capri) and Amalfi itself are within easy striking distance. If you are looking for a very lively nightlife then it's not the location for you. Very easy to find. Off street parking most welcome. Bus outside the door going to all villages along the coast. Not easy to get to the beach, which actually is more of a fishing village but truly worth the walk down to experience it. We stayed at the end of the peak season and the hotel lacked some atmosphere. Despite great terrace eating area there […] were no other guests dining. Service was friendly from the staff but the owner seamed a bit grumpy when the staff were showing some interest in us. The room was adequate, but the food could benefit from a little more quality. Breakfast was a little on the just okay side; cereal and one croissant, no meats or cheeses. My boyfriend and I stayed there for two nights and had a wonderful time. The staff was so friendly and really went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and provided everything we needed for a nice romantic weekend. The rooms are airy and they all have large balconies that look out over the sea. Our first night we had dinner at the restaurant […] on the terrace overlooking the ocean. It was a delicious meal with lots of fresh seafood dishes. We looked around town but found this restaurant to be the most affordable and it was right downstairs! The breakfast consisted of croissants, bread and jam, cereal and fruit, with your choice of coffee beverage. It was not too fancy, but filling and a good start to the day. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk outside of the main town, but it is such a beautiful place and very relaxing. There is not much to do in Praiano besides eat, but there is a quick bus that goes straight to Positano. I would highly recommend going there, it is so beautiful. It felt like walking through a postcard. The only one complaint I had was that the beds and pillows were very very hard. But other than that our stay was absolutely wonderful. Är väldigt nöjd med min vistelse på Open Gate. Personalen var otroligt vänlig och hjälpsam. Hotellet var rent och fint och frukost ingick. Fin utsikt och varje rum har en egen liten terass.

Dejligt lille hotel. Ligger imellem stranden og byen. Der er parkeringplads hvilket kniber de fleste steder. Morgenmaden er sparsom der mangler ligesom lidt ost, ellers super. Kanon udsigt fra alle værelser og opholdsrum, gider man ikke traske ind til byen kan man spise på hotellet, god kvalitet uden at være for dyr. Der kunne godt være et køleskab […] på værelset, men man kan købe i receptionen døgnet rundt. Er man ikke selv kørende kan man tage bussen op og ned af Amalfi kysten. Min kone og jeg (64-årige) var glade for at have valgt Open Gate i Praiano frem for et hotel i de mere "hektiske" nabobyer, Amalfi eller Positano. Praino - med ca. 5 min. gang til SITAbus stoppesteder i begge retninger - ligger ideelt for udflugter på Amalfikysten. Fra Open Gate er der til højre 5-10 min. gang til selve Praiano med småforretninger og […] flere restauranter og til venstre 5-8 min. gang til La Praia, det lille fiskerleje med en udmærket mindre rullestensstrand - og også her et udbud af flere restauranter/caféer. Familien og hotelpersonalet iøvrigt er meget imødekommende og hjælpsomme. Værelset (alle har en stor balkon) blev hver dag grundigt rengjort. For en gangs skyld fandtes der en hårtørrer, der virkede, skulle jeg hilse og sige fra min kone. - Det (udmærkede) traditionelle italienske morgen måltid blev suppleret med rigeligt ost og skinke. Vi nød i fulde drag en uge sidst i maj 2011. - Nåede - ud over vore SITAudflugter - også en betagende vandretur fra Praiano til Nocelle på "Il Sentiero degli Dei". Brand new, italian design and very comfortable hotel for a decent pricing. Personnel is very friendly and helpful.
