The Clarke Hotel Waukesha

We had a very late check in after a delayed flight, and the hotel staff was very accommodating. The hotel itself was fantastic - very clean and good upkeep. The only problem we had was parking, but that is a small price to pay for such a great hotel. The location was fantastic as well, right in town.

It is a shame to say that I have stayed in this hotel a total of three times prior to my previous stay, and I have to say that my last stay was not up to the same quality as my priors. The room we stayed in was a bit on the small side, sparsley furnished, needed repainting/patching, and the bathroom needed to be cleaned a bit more thoroughly. The glass […] on the shower was spotted with waterstains and soap scum. The floor of the bathroom was also a bit dirty and could have used a more thorough sweeping. I also have to say that the hotel's resturant was closed do to remodeling, which meant no room service. I suppose that for the price I paid for this hotel, I have stayed in much cheaper and nicer hotels lately. That said, its not a bad hotel, its just that I have noticed small quality declines lately and that for the price you pay, you could probably find a hotel offering more ammenities at a cheaper price. My husband and I enjoyed everything about this hotel! The hotel was very quiet. The bed was so comfortable, lots of pillows, I didn't want to get out except the shower was wonderful, five spouts! The hotel location was within walking distance to great restaurants and shops. We will definitely be returning for another quiet, relaxing weekend! The Clarke Hotel was great! I loved the fluffy duvet cover and comforter and the 6 big pillows waiting on the bed. The bathroom was amazing and I loved the shower and jucuzzi tub. My room was very comfortable. I walked down the street to the cafe/bar for a bite to eat. They were very accomodating and delicious. The Clake Hotel was a great experience for us... A great room in an awesome setting... directly in the heart of all of the Waukesha nightlife, arts and restaurants... We were only blocks from Carroll University which was the reason for our stay but we found more reasons to return... We will definitely return for more stays at the Clarke Hotel...

We ask if we had right room was told that it was. No bathtub in bathroom or tv or phone. view out window was of a brick wall. they need to update there descriptions of rooms i paid alot and recieved very little

The hotel was recently renovated and was very nice. The only complaint is that it is located directly across the street from a very loud bar. The music seemed like it was in the room with you and didn't stop until around 2:00 am. Otherwise, the room was very large and very nice.

I loved the hotel, however there are many bars on the street around it. At bar time the noise level on the street was so loud that we were not able to sleep through it.

Paid parking is two blocks away. Valet service is available when you can find someone to park the car for you. No overnight street parking. Loud music until 11:00 pm from bars across the street. Business center is a joke. No toner or PDF software allowed on a very slow pc. Called room service for a cork screw. I was told they did not have one in the […] hotel, but I could walk across to some local bar and ask to us one. Unbelievable! Upon checking out, no copy of the bill was provided and I was not asking about our stay. Hard to believe this was rated 3.5 star by Hotel's.com. i definitely would not stay here again. Had a nice stay, great hotel. Wireless internet was not working and the only guy working couldn't fix it. Said he would call the maintenance guy, but nothing ever happened. Made the business trip difficult to manage using only my cell phone to email, research, etc.

Lovely room, clean and attractive. Comfortable bed, with comfy duvet and lots of fluffy pillows.. Nicely appointed room. But, saving the best for last...A total Kohler bathroom, with steeping tub, and the greatest walk-in shower I've ever used. Water streaming from all directions.I never wanted to leave it. It is located above a lovely down town district that is growing their arts community. The room had oversize ceilings, the bed was very comfortable and clean. It was a wonderful experience. Lots of pillows, and very clean bathroom. We did not know that there is no street parking available. They have valet parking, but with everything else so pleasant, […] it was not an issue. Many local places to visit for a short week end trip. There is a coffeepot in the room, small pasteries available in the morning and modern feel with chocolate colored walls in the hallway. I loved spending our 31st anniversay weekend there. Friday night music / art in the streets with saturday Farmers market made it fun as well. I highly recommend it. Continua a leggere

After the Brewer game, it seemed like too long a drive back to the hotel. It was late and raining. Room and personel were wonderful. Would stay there again if convienient to our activity.

The Clarke Hotel sounded great on line and even better in person! We have stayed at numerous four star hotels in Chicago, this can rank with any of them! The room was beautiful, bathroom roomy; shower and tub first class. Enjoyed the neighborhood, great location. Parking was not an issue for us, valet was wonderful and parking garage just a few blocks […] away if you need to walk. Nice building, very nice room, close to restaurants and bars, but there are two huge down sides. 1) noise, only one floor up from the street and there a lot of people, Harley's, and car noise until at least midnight. What a suprise! Beautiful room. Large clean bath. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Can't wait to come again.

The Clarke Hotel was nice, but not as nice as the photos listed in hotels.com which it showed. The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly, however their is no parking, as you need to park two blocks away, but parking cost were $2.00 per 24 hour period. The room doors started to be slammed at 6:30 am and were very noisey when guest came and went. We had a nice stay. The hotel attendant gave us an upgraded room which was beautiful. We were glad we had ear plugs, as all the motorcycles go through town. The room, the bed, the bathroom - all top-notch. The maid service was not so great. They made the bed around 4 p.m. and didn't change the coffee cups or give us more coffee for the next day. Perfect hotel to be near Waukesha memorial hospital - even within walking distance if you don't mind a little uphill walk on the way to the hospital. The only negative is the need to park off-street or valet, however, the staff was very prompt in retrieving the car and it was not inconvenient at all. We found the Clarke Hotel to be a fabulous place to stay for the weekend. Downtown Waukesha had a lot of fun places and the staff at the Clarke were extremely friendly. The only minor issues we encountered were that the website says complimentary breakfast when in fact there was no breakfast. Fantastic hotel. Big rooms with 14 foot ceilings. Big clean baths. Shower with body sprays. Nice view. Ate down stairs, good food but small portions and a bit pricey. Short walk to river walk. Lots of places to get a drink. Staff was excellent. Will definitely will stay again

The hotel was great. Our room was beautiful. Wish we could have spent more time in it. It was large with a great bed. Bathroom was huge and clean with 5 different types of heads in the shower. Would stay there again in a minute.

There was only a few problems that made an awesome stay into a slightly worse one. The separate bath tub was dirty, the television was tiny compared to how large the room was, and the breakfast they offered was five 10-ounce orange juice bottles and about 8 old pastries stuck to dollies they were placed on. The staff at The Clarke was very friendly and helpful. We asked them for recommendations on dinner and the desk staff gladly obliged. We didn't eat at the restaurant in the hotel and we didn' used the valet. There was a parking ramp a couple blockes away that we used because we didn't know what we were going to that night. We could not find the valet when we arrived. No one was at the desk to check us in. no one informed us the street would be closed for a festival when we returned. We were unable to get back to the hotel because of the street being closed. The valet doesn't drive manual. Just a weird, lack of service.

This was a very nice spacious room. It is very comfortable and the shower is very nice. Don't expect a nice breakfast but everything else was really nice.

My husband and I stayed at the Clarke Hotel for our 1 year anniversary and it was an absolutely beautiful room. With a whirlpool bathtub, a stand up shower, and an amazing King size bed we couldn't have asked for more. The only down fall to this hotel is most stores close early (4) and there wasn't a wide variety of restaurants to eat at. The hotel itself was amazing. The bathroom was incredible. Bed was very comphy. Best hotel I've stayed with the exception of vacations. The dissapointing part: hotel is in the heart of downtown across from a few bars. While this may be nice if you do not have a room facing them. LOVED our stay at the Clarke! Our room was HUGE!!!! The bed was very soft and super comfy. Bathroom had a jetted tub, and a separate shower with multiple shower heads. It was really nice too, because they had regular TV on their TV, just normal cable, without having to pay for everything! Fridge in room, with cheap water, Keurig coffee maker in room. I was soooo disappointed in this hotel. I travel to Waukesha 4 times a year and this was my first try at the Clarke. The room had a disjointed layout - sofa that faced a wall of nothing with no natural light, a desk with no desk chair, reading chair near bed that was uncomfortable and pillows that were too hard. The continental breakfast was out of […] orange juice and rolls at 8:15 (open til 9) and serving area was messy. Housekeeper left my dirty glasses and fork. Asked for another room and was told none were available, altho the man helped me move some furniture around. I told him about the food service and he said I should have told him they were out - hey, this is a top-rated hotel - do I really need to do that? I also asked him for a softer pillow and never received one. All I can say is the little 2 star Ramada in Waukesha is way above the Clarke and that is sad sad sad - I grew up in Waukesha and love the concept of this downtown hotel. Continua a leggere

Very nice and upgraded hotel with comfy beds and an enourmous bathroom/shower area. The hotel is located above a nice restaurant and bar. No parking but the friendly staff will valet your car, no issues, no extra charge. Would stay there again!

This hotel offers large, spacious, classy rooms with modern amenities. the only negatives are: no onsite fitness facility, and parking. The hotel is a island in the central square so you may either park in a lot down the block or pay a few bucks for valet. I will look forward to staying there again.

This past weekend my boyfriend and I stayed at the Clarke. Who would have ever thought such a nice hotel could be located in the Heart of Waukesha. We both are avid travelers and have stayed in all types of hotels. I would highly recommend the Clarke. The service was outstanding and the rooms were very nice. The hotel is nestled in a quaint, village-like area loaded with artists. A town with diagonal parking outside the shops and the hotel, but you can't park over-night on the street, so you must move your car to a pay lot, but the rates are cheap. The check-in is on the second floor. My view out the window was a wall. I'm sure the other side of the hallway […] was much better. I use a c-pap machine but all the outlets by the bed were full, so I had to unplug things and rearrange the room so I could set the machine up. I am finding this is common in hotels. I didn't care for the soft bed with 6 pillows but my wife loved it. The bathrooms were very modern with a shower with a great, multi unit sprayer. The room was set for 68 degrees and we were freezing (in August) we played with the temp to get it to turn off, but found it kept returning to 68. The restaurant had wonderful food and really friendly staff. The hotel allows pets, which I am allergic to, and I found animal hair on the chair, which was an instant urn-off for me and affected me a bit. I don't know if they have rooms that are pet free or not. My wife liked it better than I did and loved the decor, so I have to give the place the benefit of the doubt. She would return there in a heart beat and I would opt for a place without pets, first floor check-in, free parking, firmer beds and a thermostat that allows me to get the temperature I want.
