Hotel Alem is slightly run down, and located in a quiet neighbourhood outside of the downtown. The service at the hotel was good, but the room was tiny and the bed was hard as a rock. Not a bad hotel for the price, but I am sure that there are other options closer to the center of the city.

Tre rökfria dubbelrum med balkong var beställt, fick ett normalstort rum och två små kyffen, alla utan balkong! I alla rummen måste sängarna flyttas för att komma åt kontakten, om det fanns någon, till sänglampan. Dessutom var ett rum inpyrt av rök och möbler måste flyttas för att kunna öppna garderoben! Måste torka bort damm i garderoberna för att […] kunna lägga in kläder! Fick byta alla tre rummen nästa dag efter klagomål för att få de utlovade balkongerna. Lika ostädat i dessa små rum, kontakter saknades så elsladdar stack ut från väggen, grejer satt lösa, gick ej att spola på en toalett osv. Efter ytterligare klagomål, blev det flytt igen och nu fick vi apartments som kompensation. OK frukost, men man fick gå ner i köket och säga till om allt som tagit slut. "Facile d acces mais excentre"
Hotel facile d acces par la route, situe a environ 2 km du centre.Confort, service tres bien, mais tres mauvaise qualite de la connection internet sans fil (en avril 2012)

"Hotel Alem"
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Alem. It is possible to walk into the citycenter and a taxi was 2,5 Euro. The room and bathroom was clean. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is awful.

Et hyggeligt hotel, som virkede landligt og meget hyggeligt. Maden var god og betjeningen meget hjælpsom. En halv times gang til centrum, men en taxa kostede kun 20 d.kr.
"Vänta er inte för mycket"
Personalen var trevlig och tillmötesgående. Dessutom är hotellet relativt centralt beläget, ca 10-15 min promenad. På den stora minussidan är att ingen air condition finns trots att det utlovats. Det första rummet jag fick var extremt smutsigt, men efter att ha klagat fick jag ett andra som var renare. Väldigt små enkelsängar. Kollade inte om det […] fanns gym m.m. som utlovatt. Frukosten däremot består av en kopp kaffe, bröd och sedan fick man välja om kocken skulle koka korv eller steka äggröra åt en. Rekommenderas inte för den kräsne eller barnfamiljer. Dette hotellet var det mest bedritene stedet jeg har sett på lenge, jeg torte ikke engang å ta av meg på benene inne på rommet, det var møkkete og svarte ikke til min forventning av stedet, min mening er at dere ikke bør ha med Hotel Alem i deres tilbud. "Nice hotel for a nice price"
We came to Alem for one night only as we were backpacking around the Balkans and on the day before arrival Alem was the cheapest place on hotels.com that still had rooms available. Had a little trouble finding the place (it's up on a hill with steep streets) but if you take a taxi (which is very cheap in sarajevo) you won't have that problem. The area […] felt really safe and secure and it's relatively centrally located. Lobby personnel was helpful and friendly, but service in the restaurant wasn't as good though still nothing to complain about. The room was nothing special but clean quiet and nice. "Not impressive"
We were given the wrong room in the beginning. We ordered a king size bed but were given a room with two seperate beds which smelled like toilet. After complaining we were given a new room, but with a lot of noise from the fan of the kitchen. We were complaining for the second time and then they told us they could just turn it off. That meant we could […] get some sleep. But the fan started again 6.30 in the morning. Then we were given our third room, which were actually, but a little dirty. "bence pansion ile bu hotelden daha iyidir"
sicak suda problem var. dus alirken bitti. kahvalti berbatti. oda çok biçimsiz konfor çok kötü. Bunun yaninda çok pahali ayni zamanda. Sakin tercih etmeyin. Ayrica yaninizda haniminiz ile sakin gitmeyin. Rahatsiz bir otel.
