This is an example of you get what you pay for. The hotel was clean, comfortable and convenient and for one night it was perfect; however, I wouldn't say it was the best hotel I've stayed in. "Great Place!"
At first, I was a little nervous since the hotel had a very awkward entrance off the street. It's not the hotel's fault really. The road itself is very busy and confusing if you are from out of town. The staff was very friendly as I checked in. I got to my room and was extremely surprised. I didn't really need all that it had to offer, ie. kitchenette, […] 'living room' area, etc., but on my next trip to Lafayette I will stay there again because of the extras. I have stayed at the Candlewoods Suites twice now, and both times I've had a pleasant experience. The hotel is well kept and sufficient for an affordable overnight stay. This was my second stay at this Candlewood Suites. The hotel is far superior than the 2 star rating implies. The rooms are superbly maintained, very spacious, and very clean. The price is right too. It was way below other hotels with the same ammenities in the area. I stayed in a 1 bedroom that had a separate living area with a couch and recliner. "Absolutely The Best Place to Stay"
This was by far the best hotel i have stayed at in Lafayette. I would recommend this hotel to everyone its very clean, the rooms are wonderful, the staff is very friendly and its in a great location surrounded by many restaurants and places to shop. "Hotel needs to remove balck mold on ceiling."
This hotel had problems with the growth of mold in the room we were staying in. There was a large 3-4 ft. area on the ceiling which had black mold growing on it. The room also had a very heavy moist atmosphere and when I awoke in the morning after breathing it all night, I had a headache and a stuffy nose that went away in about 24 hours. Wanted to check in early and it was no problem. However, we wanted a room facing the west and the clerk was confused as to which room numbers those were....even actually. I will know for next time.
