Holiday Inn Express Munich Airport Schwaig-Oberding

The only reason we stayed here is that it was close to the airport. However, the staff was very friendly. The free breakfast was lovely. The bar was convenient and provided good snacks. The kids were happy, we were happy, and I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room too small for 3 people.

It is a god hotel overall. Close to the airport. smokers beware.. It's a non smoking hotel. Also, nothing much to do around the hotel.

The hotel is clean, comfortable and perfectly adequate for an overnight airport stay. But the lack of a free shuttle to a hotel which exists almost exclusively for the airport is irritating.

Great location, next to the airport. Easy to get to the terminals. Staff were very helpful.

Convenient to the airport but difficult to find the small town and nothing much else to do in the immediate area.

This hotel is close to the airport, had prompt pick-up service, was clean and nice-looking. They had salads and pizza available at Registration, or you could walk to a couple of restaurants near-by. This hotel is great. I was so happy to come to a clean, modern, fresh-smelling room after long flights and layovers from Canada. The bed was great! clean, crisp, and soft. They spoke English, they had computers with internet to quickly check email, they had a court yard and the breakfast was great. Hotel is convenient to catch a next day flight from the airport - about 8-10 min. drive. They have an airport shuttle - 8 euros per room. We found hotel very clean, reception personnel very friendly and helpful and all spoke good English. There is no restaurant there but snacks are available at the bar. Breakfast buffet is available, had good variety […] of food and is included in the room price. Not too much in the immediate area however a 20 min public bus ride (5 euros) will get you to a lovely town (Erding) which has plenty of cafes, restaurants and shopping. Continua a leggere

This hotel is called Holiday Inn Express Airport, however it is quite far from the airport. There is a hotel shuttle to and from the airport, but it is not complementary. The only other way to get to the airport from it is a cab. We stayed here because we expected convenience, but were somewhat disappointed. Additionally, this hotel seemed overpriced […] compared to the similar ones we stayed in throughout Southern Germany. The staff was somewhat helpful, but could have been better. We were hoping for fine dining on our last night in the country, but the restaurant we hoped to go to was closed that day. We asked for recommendations from the staff and after recommending a local buffet we clarified that we were looking for something a bit nicer (we were dressed for fine dining) they suggested a place in Munich. Hotel is very close to airport. Hotel shuttles to airpot start at 4am and are 5 minutes away from destination. They have their own parking (8E/night) and hotel staff is very friendly. Everybody speaks English. Breakfast was OK - nothing spectacular. Some cheeses, meats, cereal and fruit. The hotel is not near anything touristy. You have a small town […] 5 - 10 minute walk away with a Bavarian and Italian restaurant. Not an ideal place to stay as a tourist. Hotel rooms are small, efficient and very clean. I recommend to NOT STAY in the rooms in front of the main entrance door: we were awaken 20 times starting at 4am by loud people leaving, talking outside, taking smoke breaks and car doors slamming shut every few minutes. This hotel is perfect to stay a night before your flight and need to get to airport in morning. One reason that we chose to stay at this hotel was specifically because their website claimed to offer free WiFi in guest rooms. Upon arrival, we found out that WiFi was only available at a rate of six euros per day, even in the lobby and business center. We reserved a room with a double bed instead of two twins. Upon arrival, we were told that they […] were all out of double beds because it was late in the day. We were upset at this, so they offered us a room with a pull out sofa that turned into a double bed. After accepting that solution, we went to the room to find out that the one we were given was actually exactly what we had reserved in the first place! I'm not sure where the miscommunication was, but it seemed like there was possibly a training issue going on. Regardless of not having free internet access and the confusing room situation, the stay was nice, the staff was very friendly, and I the shuttle to the airport was rather affordable. I have chosen this hotel primarly for the proximity to the airport. It was confortable, the service very efficient and the rooms confortable in compliance with the price. The breakfat is simple but acceptable. I definitilvely recommand it.

This hotel is very convenient to the airport and very reasonably priced and was clean, The shuttle service works great. I would recommend staying here.

It was very nice to see a person that was smiling all the time and made us feel like we were important guests. The only thing that we had lots of trouble with was your shuttle, we had to wait way to long 45 min. We missed the Munchen Glocken Spiel because of the shuttle being 45 minutes late. It only plays at noon then at 3PM and at 5PM.

The hotel was very clean, the staff friendly, helpful and courteous. The rooms were quite small and we asked for an extra bed which took up most of the room's space. There is one nearby restaurant, Italian, which was good but that is the limit of the restaurant selection. Breakfast is included and is quite good. Staff was great, breakfast was copious, and the facility was in great condition for such a busy place. There was a charge for parking, which I expected so was not surprised. Good, newish & modern. Very friendly staff. Only negatives: we landed at 11pm and the shuttle stops at 10:30. The taxi ride cost 16euro. Internet a problem. Hairdryer is outside of the bathroom and you can't move it. No place to eat, unless you want to walk 1/4 - 1/2 mile. No complimentary water... I paid double what I paid at the other hotel.com hotels we stayed at and got 1/2 of what the others offered. I would not stay here again!

Good value for the money, simple, clean, friendly staff, easy to park, close to airport. I would stay here again without a 2nd thought. There is a great Bavarian restaurant about 400 meteres East on the right.

The hotel was very nice and everything was new and well kept. The Staff, Reception, Maids, Food Service, were all very helpful and nice. The breakfast buffet was very good with lots of fresh foods. I would definately saty here again. The 8 Erro for parking was frustrating as there was nothing around the hotel and no reason to charge for parking. Beautiful Hotel excellent location , convienent to Airport and Munich, very polite and efficent staff, would stay again

Three people, one of them a 3 year old looking for a place to stay close to the Munich Airport to catch a morning flight. Hard to find something without having to resort to 2 rooms or paying 300 Euros. The hotel was great. My wife is still talking about what a good stay she had almost a week later. We had a double bed with a fold out sofa bed that the […] staff had already laid out prior to our arrival. Room was spotless with very new fittings. A little tight with 3 large suitcases and the sofa opened up but I've been in smaller rooms (one in London required us to put the suitcases on the bed to walk to the bathroom). Should be quite comfortable and cozy with the sofa folded up. It's in a business park environment so not a lot of amenities in the area. I overheard staff saying there were a couple of restaurants within walking distance but we got by with items from the bar (pizza, sandwiches etc). The bar was nice to unwind with a local draft after a long drive through 3 countries. My wife loved the continental breakfast (free) but she prefers the euro style fare where I'm more a big breakfast fan but I was happy with it. Staff was professional and friendly with a good command of English so I didn't have to resort to a phrasebook. (the majority of the guests seemed to be English speakers) It took us a few minutes fumbling with the lights before discovering the keycard had to be placed in a slot on the wall in the room near the door for them to work. Energy saving I guess - if you leave you take the key turn the lights out. Hallway lights are also motion activated. The road to the hotel has several roundabouts which resulted in one wrong turn especially in the dark but we got there. Hint - GO STRAIGHT :-) Suggestions? Mostly nitpicking - Their market is likely the business traveller based on the size of the rooms but a kids channel on the TV would be nice. 8 euros for the Wifi to check my email? Grea hotel! Great breakfast. Do not plan on going any where when you stay at this hotel. It is on the far side of the airport and the shuttle cost 8 euros each way. So add that to the cost of the hotel. WiFi Internet service cost 10-12 eruos for 24 hrs during your stay so add that. It is very clean but plan on staying in your room.

nice and modern hotel, good for the transit passengers on the way to the aeroport. OK breakfast. Do not book if you are planning to stay more than one night: there is nothing to see and you have to take shuttle to aeroport (8 euro per room) each time you have to go to town.

The hotel is clean, the breakfast was good. The rooms are tiny! we had the sofa open for our son but it consumed the entire room so we decided to close it back and chose other ways of not letting him fall off. The airport is a few minutes drive, rental car was returned easy and re-fuel is at airport. Parking cost money (but the shuttle would also). […] Wifi is not free but cheap. There is 30 minutes free wired net in the lobby. Schwaig (the neighborhood) is nothing but hotels and services. Car recommended to go to Munich (and that is easy). Otherwise, yo'd have to shuttle to airport then by train. Conclusion: I would not stay for weeks but a few nights are okay and MUC being close (i.e. you don't deal with traffic when flying out) is a plus. Freeways can be clogged. Continua a leggere

Needed a clean, safe & reasonably priced place to stay overnight before boarding a flight the next am; the Holiday Inn Express Munich met our needs. Breakfast was included; however, we did not participate. We were transported to and from the airport via their van which cost 16 euros for the round trip for my husband and me. This was less than a taxi […] would have cost; The drive took at least 10 minutes each way. We were pleased with our accommodations and do recommend. The hotel is clean, well maintained, pretty quiet and free breakfast is always a bonus. For 2 people with a lot of luggage, however, the rooms are somewhat small. Staff is friendly and helpful. It would be better to make additional costs like parking, shuttle and Internet use in room clearer and more obvious so that one can compute that into comparable […] hotel offers. Very nice, reasonably priced hotel, convenient to Munich airport. Only problem, which beyond hotel control, was that hotel shuttle bus at airport was hard to find. Airport needs more signs directing people to shuttle bus stop.

The hotel room and bathroom are both very well designed. All space is efficiently utilized, particularly in the bathroom, where there is ample countertop beyond the sink. The entire area is modern, clean and very comfortable. We appreciated the staff who spoke English and was extremely helpful during our stay. The hotel is very conveniently located […] near the airport and near several restaurants. We had a good dinner at a nice Italian restaurant within walking distance.
