Hotel Riviera Venezia

We received exactly the rooms we had asked for. The hotel is very conveniently located next to the Vaopretto terminal. Unfortunately that is a rather noisy place, so I will not recommend booking a room to the lagoon side. The room was comfortable but my wife complained about very hard beds. Hotel was clean, convenient, employees were nice and spoke English so language isn't a barrier. The area around the hotel is clean with places to eat. The hotel serves a very nice and complete breakfast. Hotel is on the main water taxi route so getting from Plaza Roma to Lido Island is a breeze.

Hotel is on Lido, which is an island across the lagoon from Venice. Takes a little longer to reach via the Vaporetto, but we loved Lido's laid-back pace and access to the beach. We didn't expect much with the 3 star rating, but it was more of a 4.5 star hotel to us. The hotel is within a couple of hundred yards of the boat station, so can be walked […] to very easily. Staff was friendly and accomodating (especailly Claudio at the front desk), and our room had a lagoon view which was just spectacular! Furniture was ornate and the tub/shower combo was much bigger than the standard "phone booth" shower elsewhere that we've encountered. No refrigerator or ice in the room, but they'll give you ice at the front desk if you just ask. On the second floor there's also a patio facing the lagoon which you can use to enjoy the view as well. It's next door to a church (we love the bells!) and also next to a street which can get somewhat noisy. Just close your window at nite and you should be fine. Breakfast is adequate. No hot food but a good selection of meat/cheese/biscuits/etc. as well as several types of juices, coffee and tea. A very pleasant stay for my wife and I! Continua a leggere

hotel riviera is in the Lido which is ~30 mins from the main island of Venice. it's a really well maintained hotel with great customer service and located really close to the main ferry stop. surrounding area is very safe well into the night with a couple of lively bars and a decent nightlife scene. as a bonus, they even let you store your bags for […] free after you check out. An absolute steal! We liked it so much that we booked a second night. We got off the train station, picked up a 48 hour water bus pass and away we went. It took about 30-45 min to get to Lido on bus 51, but as soon as the water bus stopped we walked off and into our hotel. The rooms were lovely with large showers. (Ladies you could shave your legs) […] not always possible in european showers. The beach is a 10-15 minute walk straight down the road from the hotel and is soooooo worth seeing. There are shops along the way. The gelato stand serves it in a small cup for 1e. Great deal. The hotel staff was marvelous. There was someone there 24hours a day and they were all great. They booked reservations, helped with wifi, gave us directions, and guided us to the best waterbuses for everywhere in venice. I will not only recommend this hotel to all of my travelling friends but hope to one day stay here again. I truly felt like I was on vacation with american amenities that you don't get in many european hotels. Continua a leggere

The beds were hard and we were only given one pillow per person. Other an that the room was clean. We had to switch rooms the first day we got to the hotel because the air conditioning was not working and it was about 95 degrees outside. The next room we got to had a very small shower and a shower curtain which would stick to your body as your tried […] to shower. We asked to switch to a different room that had a shower door and not a curtain. Finally we got into our 3rd and final room. The shower was just as small but atleast had a door which made showering more enjoyable. The breakfast was good. Very nice hotel in a fantastic location. For a young couple on our honeymoon we felt a little out of place but were welcomed by all staff and liked the dated interior

Hotel is right by the vaporetti station on the Lido, only minutes away from San Marco's by boat. Beach is accessible and lots of cheaper bars and shops around. Very nice breakfast with plenty of different pastries. Room was larger than average and very pretty.

I stayed at this hotel 10 years ago, and it was fine. Now, 10 years later, the AC in my room had a leaking and the noise of the leak was very unpleasant to sleep, besides that the AC worked only on setting #2 which kept the room very hot and humid. Very nice hotel. Good breakfast. Have to pay for internet use. Not very convenient to stay at this hotel if only staying a night or two. Boat ride back and forth can take up a lot of time. The hotel is located on the island of Lido which is a short boat ride from the main island of Venice and is a wonderful place to escape the crowds that can get overwhelming in the city. The hotel is located directly across the street from the boat stop. The staff members were friendly and the overall stay was very nice.

Not a bad hotel at all! Clean, decent sized room with shower and toilet facilities. The hotel is right across the road from the waterbus service ports where you can travel to main Venice every ten minutes or so. Longest part of travel is getting there from Marco Polo Airport. A good price and guest reviews caused me to choose The Riviera for our 2 night visit to Venice in Oct. And although we wondered if it would be a mistake to be on the Lido island instead of the main island, we found it to be very convenient. First, the water-bus from the airport actually stops at the Lido before going across the water to the main Venice […] island, and the stop is directly across the street from the hotel. Next, the water-taxi runs so frequently that we never had to wait more than a few minutes, and 3 quick stops later you arrive at St. Mark's Square. That same water-taxi goes all the way through the Grand Canal, past the train station to the last stop, and we took it all the way the last morning to catch a bus to the mainland to pick up a rental car for the rest of our trip. This was all very convenient. When we checked in and got to our room we were disappointed with it, but we checked with the front desk about changing rooms, and with rooms available they were quick to offer another and we were very satisfied with our new room. The hotel is satisfactory for 3 star. If you are staying for 3 or more nights then the traveling back and for across the lagoon possibly twice a day is OK. But do factor inthe cost and time for travelling back and for. Also you will have to go back for your luggage if you do not want to treck it around. A 72 hour travelcard will cost another 33 euros […] per person. A sinlge trip is 6.5 euros. Note you can get a rolling Vencie card if aged 14-29 and then the cost is reduced to 22 euros. Positives: Our room size was very large for Italy, we also had a great balcony overlooking Venice. We choose Lido since it was a more quiet alternative to Venice. Negatives: Internet was extremely slow and u nreliable and they charged to use it. 6 Euro's for an hour?? I don;t mind spening it, if it's fast. It took 10 minutes to get a web page open. […] Also, charging to use the hot tub and sauna seems tacky. No Heat ? I called the front desk to see how it worked and was informed that they cannot start using heat until end of October? It was mandated by the country of Italy?Could be true but not sure. Also the shower was designed improperly. The glass shower doors seemed to dump water all over the floor and the TV was small, barely worked and about 30 years old. Finally, Lido is quaint, but a lot farther from everywhere else. The boat from the main train station took at least 40 - 45 minutes. They have another one that's more direct but is not included in the boat/taxi passes so it's extra. Finally, we ate at 2 restaurants in Lido and both were not very good. Continua a leggere

The hotel was conveniently located across the street from the water bus stop. It is a short distance from the beach and all the shops. The staff was very helpful and eager to please. The room was clean and air conditioned. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in Lido.

Nice hotel in a great location..as long as you don't mind being across the water from the bustle of St Marks, which we didn't. Go for a superior room with lagoon view..we had a little balcony and the view was spectacular. L'emplacement, à côté du débarcadère, est très pratique. Mais le giratoire sur lequel donnait ma fenêtre était très bruyant de jour comme de nuit. Le charme de la ville de Venise, si différente des autres parce que sans voitures, est quelque peu rompu quand on rentre le soir...

Excelente situación enfrente de la parada del vaporetto y a tan solo tres paradas de la plaza San Marco. Muy buena relación calidad precio.

Der Boden der Zimmer knarrt wie in einem alten Haus. Frühstück ist ok, aber nicht so wie viele geschrieben haben, top. Die Lage ist super und das personal freundlich.

Vi var mycket nöjda med vår vistelse. Perfekt att bo på Lido och att få några dagars bad. Välj ett rum med utsikt över lagunen. God frukost med frukt och goda bakverk. Negativt om man har problem av båttrafiken som kan vara störande till midnatt, men inget som störde oss. Lätt att ta sig med hyrbil till vindistrikten, Verona eller till Gardasjön några […] timmar bort. Bor själv mycket på hotell i tjänsten, vi rekommenderar Hotell Riviera. Continua a leggere

Leuk hotel,schoon, goed ontbijt en vriendelijk personeel.Uitstekende ligging tegenover de watertaxi en bussen, restaurantjes en winkels in de omliggende straten. Het strand ligt op ongeveer 750 meter Op Lido kan je lekker rustig bijkomen na een drukke en geweldige dag in Venetie.

LIDO es una isla enfrente de venecia y se puede ir con el auto en ferry. muy buena la relacion de precio y el vaporetto esta en frente del hotel

Für ein italienisches 3*Hotel ist das Rivera vollkommen in Ordnung. Die Männer am Empfang sind sehr freundlich und jederzeit hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer und das Hotel sind sauber. Wir hatten ein sehr ruhiges Zimmer in Richtung Innenhof. Das Frühstück war vielseitig und reichhaltig, wenn auch jeden Tag gleich. Auch hier waren die Menschen sehr freundlich […] und stets bemüht alle Wünsche zu erfüllen. Die Lage des Hotels ist optimal. Direkt am Anlegesteg und Busbahnhof. Natürlich ist dadurch die Geräuschkulisse etwas höher, aber bei einem Zimmer in Richtug Innenhof überhaupt nicht zu hören. Für uns war die Nähe zum Anlegesteg ein wichtiger Aspekt. Nach einem langen Entdeckungstag zurück auf Lido noch eine Busfahrt zum Hotel in Kauf zu nehmen wollten wir nicht. Es hat sich gelohnt dieses Hotel zu buchen. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Hotel is zeer goed gelegen, vlak bij de lijnboten. Het is ongeveer 10 min varen en dan sta je op het San Marco plein. Goede uitvalsbasis om omliggende eilanden te gaan verkennen. Zeer vriendelijk personeel en het ontbijt was ok maar niet subliem. Zeker een aanrader voor het geld dat je daar betaald.

Hôtel très propre et bien tenu. Le personnel est très sympathique. Le petit déjeuner est copieux. Nous avons passé un agréable séjour. Le personnel est toujours là pour donner des explications et tout ça en français. Je recommande cet hôtel qui est très bien situé par rapport au vaporetto.

prima ontbijtbuffet! Mooi op een afstandje gelegen om bij te komen van alle indrukken van Venetie. Direct bij de Vaporetto naar hartje Venetie. En het strand is vlakbij voor een heerlijke duik.

It was really worth to pay extra for a room with a view over the lagoon. Our room had a large balkony where we liked to sit and relax. Perhaps sipping a glass of well chilled prosecco and enjoying the view of one of the most beautiful views I've ever had from a hotel. We were very pleased with the hotel and the room. The staff were very helpful and […] nice. The room was medium sized and very cozy. The bed was a bit firmer than I like them, like a bunk bed. We were not on a honeymoon or love trip so the bed was not a problem. It was good for sleeping in. The TV was rather small and was mounted to a rack in the celing. It would have been hard to watch, when you're in your 40's and starting to loose your hawk eye sight. However we weren't there to watch TV... The breakfast buffet was good. It was not the largest varity of things to choose from but I didn't miss anything. I'd say it was a medium sized varity of things to choose from. We loved staying on the Lido island. It was a 5 minutes walk to the beach and 15 minutes boat ride to the city center. Lido was a good place to escape the crowds around San Marco square and Rialto. We were on the beach in the mornings until lunch time. Some days we brought lunch from the supermarkets to the beach and ate there. There were also plenty of restaurants on the island. After lunch we took the vaporetto in to the city center. Living on Lido gave us both a holiday in the sun and a cultural/city holiday. Continua a leggere

Hotellet ligger lige ved vandbussen, den sejler tit og i løbet af 10 minutter er man på Markuspladsen. Når man så har travet rundt i Venedig, er det dejligt at komme tilbage til Lido og nyde freden. Øen er hyggelig og der er en flot strand.

Die Aussicht vom Zimmer mit Lagunenblick ist atemberaubend, und die großen Kreuzfahrtschiffe kann man bei der Ein- und Ausfahrt ausgiebig bewundern. Das ältere Hotel zeichnet sich durch die Lage an der Vaporetto-Station aus, in wenigen Minuten erreicht man den Markus-Platz und auch die anderen Stationen. Die Boote fahren in kurzem Abstand, so dass man […] nie lange warten muss. Es gibt Fahrkarten für 24, 36, 48, 72 Stunden, die auch für die Busse auf dem Lido gelten. Die klimatisierten Zimmer sind im venezianischen Stil, nicht sehr groß, aber ausreichend. Das Bad ist klein, hat aber alles, was man braucht. Das Frühstücksbuffet war umfangreich mit Wurst, Schinken, Käse, frischem Obst, Cerealien und Sonntags sogar Kuchen. In unmittelbarer Nähe gibt es Restaurants, Snack-Bars, Cafeterias, Boutiquen, einen Supermarkt und viele Eisdielen (mit günstigeren Preisen als in Venedig - Cappucino 1,50 gegenüber vom Hotel). Zum Strand ist es nicht weit, man kann aber auch den Bus nehmen. Das Hotel hat eine Terrasse auf der 1. und 4. Etage (mit Blumen, Gartenmöbeln und Aschenbecher), hier kann man sogar picknicken. Und falls die Abreise erst abends erfolgt, kann man das Gepäck in einem verschlossenen Raum kostenlos unterstellen. Das Hotel-Personal ist sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit, wenn auch nicht unbedingt deutschsprechend. Englisch-Kenntnisse sind hilfreich. Continua a leggere

Hotel à recommander! Très bien situé, a 2min a pied de l'arrêt des vaporettos. Service plus que convenable!!!

Excellent hôtel pour y passer un petit weekend en amoureux. La chambre est climatisée ce qui est agréable vu la chaleur qu'il fait à Venise. Le petit déjeuner est assez copieux : café, lait, fruits, croissants, gâteaux, céréales... Cependant, l'ascenseur est assez petit donc pas très pratique pour les grosses valises ;) Par contre, cet hôtel est très […] bien situé : à 5 min à pied pour aller prendre le vaporetto et à 10 min à pied, également, de la plage !
