Sweden House Hotel San Francisco

You must have low expectations to book this hotel - if you do, you will not be disappointed. After reading the negative reviews, I was a bit apprehensive about staying at the Sweden House. However, given the price and the location, it was just what I needed. Was there a big hole in the ceiling? Yes. was the sink faucet installed properly? No. Were stains […] abundant? Yes. Did I care? No. The bed was comfortable, the hotel staff was incredibly helpful and the free wireless worked great. While the block on which this hotel is located is a bit sketchy, a few blocks west on O'Ferrell is fine . Bottom line: if you need a good deal and have appropriate expectations, you cannot go wrong. I was looking for a low priced hotel in San Francisco, granted on quite short notice. Via Expedia Web site I eventually found the Sweden House. The pictures looked ok and the price was appr. 100 US$ a night, still a bit more that I wanted to spend. When I walked down O'farrell Street I almost missed the hotel, since it is very unimposing. When I finally […] found the entrance, it was closed. I called a phone number that was on a piece of paper fixed at the entrance grate. someone opened the door and after more calls I got into my room. This was a shock. The room was extremely small, no furnitures beside a bed, chair and wardrobe. Dirty carpet but most disturbing was the stench of urine. Bathrooms are commonly used. They are very basic but considering the other circumstances ok. One of the worst places I ever stayed. Annoying was also to find out, that the room rates declared in the hotels were half the price of what I paid on the Expedia Web site. Continua a leggere

Hotels.com probably shouldn't list hotels like these (the Tenderloin distrcit) it can be a scary neighborhood especially at night where there's no one available, in fact, you are given front gate key. There's basically no maid service and the building is very run down and old. You will basically dread having to go back to this hotel every night even […] if you only care about a bed to sleep on. The neighbourhood is full of drug dealers and people yells at you as one passes by. Guests at the hotel were pretty weird too, one day a guy with his t-shirt All covered in blood opened the door for us. Prices were much too high, both compared to already expensive San fran, but also in the perspective of a non-convincing guest experience.

This hotel is HORRIBLE!!! Though they currently have renovated the bathroom, the lobby and room are so gross and smelly. It doesn't worth the price at all! I actually only stayed for one night and cancelled the rest 3 days of reservation. It's been over one month and the hotel manager has become unreachable for hotels.com, so I still didn't get my refund! […] This is the most unpleasant hotel experience I ever had!!! Busverbindungen in unmittelbarer Nähe. Sehr gutes veganes Restaurant nebenan. Keine gute Gegend. Rausgehen nach Einbruch der Dunkelheit nicht zu empfehlen. Zimmer war zu klein und stank nach toten Tieren. Toiletten waren verstopft und dreckig. Keine Aufzüge. Kein guter Service.
