Recensito da un utente di Hotels.com in data 12 dic 2012La suite che mi è stata assegnata era confortevole con un un ampia sala da bagno, la jacuzzi è molto grande ed è separata dalla doccia. La gentilezza dello staff è stata molto apprezzata così come la prontezza in ogni nostra richiesta. Forse la colazione è l'unico neo di questo hotel perchè è poco ricca. Il quartiere dove si trova l'hotel è a motlo vicino al grande parco di Manila e alla città vecchia ma ricordatevi che siete a Manila e che quindi il caos regna sempre.

Recensito da un utente di Hotels.com in data 9 ago 2012Mi hanno dato la possibilità di scegliere la stanza e questo mi ha fatto molto piacere, la stanza era molto grande, come anche il bagno e l'arredamento era molto carino! Bollitore in camera con caffè e thè gratuiti! Tutto il personale è educatissimo e ti salutano sempre con un sorriso! Pulizia impeccabile, mi hanno cambiato gli asciugamani ogni giorno! La zona è carina, l'addetto dell'hotel ti trova il taxi in 1min e non si capisce come :), sono convenienti se hanno il conta km! Consiglio vivamente quest'hotel, ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo!

"Badly aging rooms"
The rooms are really old and very badly furnished, bad maintenance, bad lighting, very old and small bathroom, very small LCD TV for a 5 star hotel. "Amazing hotel"
Our stay at Dusit Thani was flawless. The hotel itself if absolutely beautiful and the rooms are lovely, spacious and have comfortable beds. A little bit of luxury! The staff are so friendly and helpful and don't hover around always waiting for a tip like everyone else in the Philippines. The buffet breakfast was excellent, lots of variety and the food […] is all fresh. The hotel is around the corner from greenbelt, glorietta, SM and Landmark, walking to the malls feels safe and is very easy. Also very close to the airport- we took both coupon and metered. If you are going from the hotel, make sure they put the meter on as it is less than 200php to get to the airport as opposed to the first day when the driver sold us 300php flat rate (which is only good if you get stuck in heaps of traffic). "Great hotel but cheaper to eat out"
Located close to shops and restaurants. Breakfast selection was fairly impressive for Manila. Nice lobby/foyer area with fantastic smiling staff always willing to help, little outdoor garden was nice to sit down and have a beer in the afternoon. Overall pretty good. For westerners this is more like a 3.5 star hotel but very good by Philippine standards. Would stay here again although it's a little bit expensive. But very very convenient. You can literally see SM mall out the window just accross the road (and it's very easy to cross the road as there is a pedestrian crossing there which surprisingly […] the drivers do take notice of). Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff. My only complaint - the free welcome drink. It's a bit silly to have one drink per room when there is more than one guest (i.e a couple) staying in the room. A bit of a shame to have to share one drink between a couple! "Good for a business trip"
Nice hotel, but showing its age. The service was excellent in every respect. The staff were cordial, helpful and friendly at every step. The club was OK, but I am used to a little more food and beverage choice for the cocktail hour and a more welcoming atmosphere. I understand they are building a new club on the 17th floor though. The hotel is located […] in a nice part of town, but it faces backwards, so you actually have to walk around the building to find the nicer area. The main entrance faces a parking structure, so it doesn't feel very safe when you first walk out the door. there is a side entrance that faces the side of a large shopping mall, so it's not exactly inviting to go for a walk. If you actually walk another block on the left side of the hotel, you get to a very nice large avenue (Ayala Ave.) with a lot of shopping, restaurants, etc., but you won't see any of that when you arrive at the hotel. The hotel staff follows the Thai traditions, explaining the excellent service, and the decor and atmosphere reflect the Thai ownership of the Dusit brand. Overall, great for a 4 day stay. "Surprisingly Great 'old' Hotel."
Only stayed overnight but would love to come back next time. The king size bed was great! Beddings were clean, pillows soft, and the bed was totally relaxing. Would have loved to have slept longer but had to leave early the next day. Hailing a cab was not much of a problem. The staff and guards were bery helpful. Great Pad Thai and Thai Iced Tea […] at Benjarong Royal Thai restaurant. Kudos to the chef and staff as well. They could add some more people in the wait staff to help out Kaye M. as it looked like she was the only one handling orders. The older women were assigned selected tables/rooms I guess for a more personalized service. Business area was very accommodating as I had to use their printer to print my boarding pass. Only thing is I was not told upfront that there was a charge and only found out after overhearing another guest. They were nice enough not to charge me (P15) as I only printed one page. Probably not going to happen next time around. Complementary WIFI in the room was great plus! Proximity to SM Supermarket helps in gettin some local items at a cheaper price. Seems like Dusit Thani Makati has not seen a face lift lately. It might be worthwhile to do so since Ayala Center is completing the upgrade of it's last remaining area (glorietta) to blend with it's new look. "Good Location"
This time I arrived at approximately 12:30am and as normal the check-in process went smoothly and I got the king size bed for my six-night stay. The upsell is always part of the check-in procedure, but they back off quickly when you say no. I was in my room within five minutes of my arrival. However, I will say that the room I got this time was worn-out […] as compared to others I have stayed at in the past. In particular the “Comfort Room,” had seen its better days and the general condition of the room was less than I had expected based on my past stays at this hotel. This time my room was next to one of the corner rooms and for the first two nights there was nonstop partying into the early hours of the morning. This could be a benefit for those who have the desire to get the larger corner room and plan to entertain guests knowing in advance that hotel will tolerate their activities. The problem for me is that I could hear their noise in the hallway (as they transited to and from the room) as well as through walls of my room…and on the first night I needed some rest after the long flight (in excess of 48-hours due to flight delays) from the USA. Nevertheless, none of this takes away from the excellent location of this hotel or the friendly staff. The key is to book your room well in advance and you should get a discounted price.
