the hotel was fantastic,even though it was extremely busy they were well enough staffed to handle it and were all very pleasant to deal with,it was a nice relaxing easy going weekend, the only down side was the set menu's in the restaurants and the unwillingness to modify any dishes,very little choice for ceoliac and non meat eaters.

Only fault was that they seemed to forget about us on the second day. We stayed two nights. We weren't on the breakfast list, and room service didn't come to change sheets or do a turn turn on our second day, and they didn't seem to have record of us when we checked out. In relation to the room cleaning, we could rang reception to request it, but by […] the time we realised they'd we been forgotten about, it was already late into the evening and we winding down. Very attractive hotel with a wonderful feel of luxury as one experiences the old part of the hotel. The modern rooms are wonderfully entertwined within the charm of the location. Service is excellent though we only stayed the one night we did not make full use of the amenities. Breakfast was a little disappointing, rubbery tasteless smoked salmon, black […] and white pudding that were tasteless. Overall not what we had anticiapted. Continua a leggere

From arrival everything about Lyrath is very impressive! Staff at reception were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a good sized deluxe room which overlooked the gardens, everything you would need for a relaxing break. Leisure facilities great. Good choice of restaurants. Breakfast superb!

Probably the only hotel I have stayed in where I have no complaints. The food was excellent, the service non-intrusive but ever-present, decor and cleanliness superb, and the building's architecture outstanding. Our only sink was blocked, I did not want to interrupt our wedding party activities with getting it sorted out. We felt it should have been sorted before our arrival.

Our first night of a road trip through Ireland. This is a wonderful property in the country but close to Kilkenny. The staff were attentive and friendly with nice bar and restaurant choices if you want to stay on site.

The hotel is a little isolated but for a quite week end quite ideal although they probably could make more use of their grounds. Food was excellent and staff very pleasant.

Nice hotel but too far from town. Breakfast was great. Pool was very busy. They had an awful cheesy musician playing at the bar upstairs which was played on the sound system throughout the other bars & lobby of the hotel which created a horrible atmosphere when we got back in the evening. Kilkenny is a great town, book your restaurant well in advance, […] most of the well recommended ones were booked up when we called them at approx 6pm. This hotel has a lot to recommend it, cleanliness, service, food and facilities. The only criticizm I have is the smell of deep fried food that permeated throughout the foyer and the bar. I found this very off-putting.

This hotel was superb. The room was huge and had two double beds, even though we only booked a room for 2 adults. The bathroom was a fair size. There was coffee, tea, biscuits in the room. The TV had a large selection of channels. The hotel is new and spacious. At breakfast there was a large selection of cold and hot foods. Some of the hot food was […] cooked on the spot. The reception staff were not rude, but not that excited either. The hotel is on a large estate, whcih is perfect for runs and walks. Beautiful place! We only stayed one night, wished we had stayed more versus another hotel the previous night! Staff were very helpful and friendly. By far the nicest hotel we stayed in all trip! Had a drink in the bar. Nice and warm room with helpful staff. Breakd fast was amazing! Buffet style with many, many options! We are only sorry we did not have time during our stay to enjoy the hotel and its grounds fully. The hotel room was excellent. We did find the restaurant service a bit slow but they were very friendly.

We stayed in the Lyrath for 2 nights and enjoyed it thoroughly. We were greeted at the car by Tom sho welcomed us and offered to carry in the luggage. Check in staff were very helpful and friendlly. Our room was on reception level and very convenient to leisure centre, dining areas, bar etc. Nice slippers adn robes set the mood for a leisurly weekend, […] nice quiet rooms with excellent air conditioning. The La Perla restaurent was a lovely venue for dinner and the staff, choice of food and presentation at breakfast was flawless. An afternoon in the semi outdoor jacuzzi was very relaxing followed by a chill out session in the tranquility room. The free internet access in the business room was very welcome. Will hopefully return in the near future and would have no hesitation in recommending this very prestigious hotel on it's own grounds with rolling green fields and lovely gardens. Great spot! A truly 5 star experience.Rooms are spacious and luxurious. Bathrooms the same, (divided into 3 sections.) Spa and treatments on offer looked inviting but we did not have time. Staff first class. Must have been hand picked. Ordered breakfast in bed arrived on the dot and scrumptious.Would highly recommend. .

Booked an executive room, arrived with chocolates and a bottle of wine in the room, followed by hospitality turning up with bottles of water and additional sweets minutes after we got to the room. Excellent facilities, lovely hotel, particularly the restored part of the original house. Great breakfast and had the pool to ourselves for about 40 mins […] after that. Minor comments, This hotel is not where it shows on the map on hotels.com so make sure you have there number to ring for directions when you get near. It is approx a mile if not further out of the town from where it is shown which left me driving round in circles for a good 15 mins. It is also not as close to the castle and other amenities as it states on hotels.com as a result as i assume these are calculated from the map. Bar and restaurant are on the pricey side but other than that a very enjoyable stay in an excellent hotel. Will be back. Continua a leggere

We spent a weekend in Lyrath as we were invited to a wedding there and we all had the best time ever. The place is absolutely gorgeous and the staff was extremely friendly. An amazing experience.

We had an overnight stay here and I could not find fault with this hotel. It was my husbands birthday and they sent a bottle of wine and some chocolates up to the room, which we thought was a really nice touch. we stayed in an executive room and it was enormous. The turn down service was fantastic. We didn't eat in the hotel, however the food we saw […] brought out to other guests looked gorgeous. The staff were very helpful, courteous and polite. The breakfast was beautiful. The range of food on offer was brilliant. I will definately be returning here for a longer stay as there is so much to do in this hotel. It is very close to kilkenny city and the receptionist ordered a taxi for us. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a five star expenience. Continua a leggere

The Lyrath is a wonderful hotel. A great location just outside Kilkenny, set back from the main road means peace and quiet, ideal for relaxing breaks. The staff are efficient, professional and unobtrusive but attentive, always a good thing. Well worth a visit.

I stayed for 2 nights with my partner and it was fantastic. The room was beautiful and spotless. The breakfast was great, we had dinner in the restaurant and it was very good. I only have 2 small negatives. The first is the location. If you want to go out in Kilkenny it is about 10 - 15 minutes in a taxi. The staff got us it straight away both nights […] so it is not a problem just that you can't walk in. The second is the fault of the hotel. There is a room service menu available from 10PM till 8AM. At about 1AM on Saturday night I rang the number several times over the course of 30 minutes and got no answer. Decor beautiful. Rooms good size with lovely marble bathroom. Food is most definitly a 5 star but leisure centre is not quite - a little dissapointing compared to the standard of rest of the hotel. Staff very friendly and more than helpful.

we were really looking forward to our stay at lyrath as it was recommended to us..just a few things made the five star rating unwarranted..stayed in executive room..first nite room very cold on arrival..air con very noisy and no remote control so broken sleep due to noise n then having to get out of bed to turn on/off air con..no remote for dvd player..very […] few channels on tv..when i complained to front desk next day..they offered an extra duvet..and when arrived back to room..what i can descibe as a shabby dog blacket was awaiting me to make my stay more comfortable!!! In the gym the weights machine was out of order..nothing should be out of order in a five star hotel..Also there was no sauna in the pool area..again not good enough for five star..breakfast was excellent and grounds are amazing but desk staff seem to be indifferent to customers..
