Makena Surf - Destination Resorts Hawaii Wailea (Maui)

Love the place! The grounds were very nice. Inside, our room could have been updated, very 70's. Also, you have to check in at Destination resorts, which is no where near condo. Then they will give you a card key to get into gated community. If you have a lot of luggage there are Large wheel barrows to use. Our condo was a large 2 bedroom with 2 full baths and a wonderful view of the ocean. A short paved path led right to the beach. The condo literally had everything you would need to live there for a week including a gas grill on the porch, patio furniture and even furniture to take down to the beach. Maids came everyday and replaced towels (if you wanted), […] made beds, loaded or unloaded dishwasher, picked up, etc. The concierge at the office was available to makes reservations or suggestions for eating and/or activities. These condos are on the Wailea or south side of Maui. It's very quiet as opposed to the Lahaina area where there is more to do, but you have crowds and traffic to deal with. If you are going to Maui to have an adventure vacation, you will have to make the 30-45 minute trip to the Lahaina area for most activities. If you are going to relax, sit on the beach, snorkel and eat good food, then the Wailea/Makena area would be perfect. The shopping in Wailea is high, high end but Kehei is just a 5 minute drive down the road. Kehei has most of what you can get at Lahaina but it's closer and cheaper. If we were to return to Maui, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. We stayed in building C, unit 105. Next time, I might ask for building A which was a bit closer to the ocean and had easier access. Continua a leggere

The ambiance is so quiet that we can relax all day long. The ocean was just infront of the condo and the view is bless taking. I defenetly would like to return again.

Located on a beach with gentle waves. Neat area to body surf, kayak, or stand up paddle boarding. Condo was large enough with plentiful seating to let people find their own corner. The kitchen was well equipped with dishes and miscellaneous cooking, baking, serving, and storage items. We vacationed at the Makena Surf Condos in Maui with our three young adult sons. The condo was right on the beach, gorgeous with a huge deck overlooking the beach and ocean. The unit was stunning with a fully updated kitchen, dining/living room with amazing views, three bedrooms with really comfortable beds, daily maid service, everything first rate. […] We watched breathtaking sunsets and observed porpoises and whales frolick in the ocean from our deck , walked down the beautiful beach and swam with lots of curious sea turtles. The unit had large TV, free wireless, stereo. The Makena Surf is a quiet spot, a little off the beaten path without a lot of action or services/activities. It is not a resort hotel but is adjacent to several golf courses and the consierge will arrange activities and excursions for you. The property is modest with a couple of pools and tennis courts. It is close to wonderful hikes and 1 mile or so to shops and all the big Wailea hotels. We would all definitely return for a relaxing vacation in paradise. Continua a leggere

Makena Surf was BEAUTIFUL!!!! It was our Best vacation that we have ever had. Tha landscaping was way beyond our expectations and the housekeepers were so friendly. The only down fall was that the pool wasnt able to be heated because of a Hawaii gas issue. We were really looking forward in swimming in it, but we did fine without it.
