Essendo un 4 stelle pensavo fosse un pochino meglio. Ho trovato un buco nelle lenzuola e ho dovuto buttare a terra gli asciugamani per poterli cambiare per il giorno dopo. I pigiami sono stati lasciati abbandonati come erano stati lasciati da noi.

L'hotel è situato in prossimità della Grande Place, ma gli spostamenti sono resi difficili, sia in situazione normale, sia e forse soprattutto perchè sono attualmente in corso lavori importanti proprio sulla via in cui è situato, per cui si creano ingorghi e difficoltà. In questo periodo dell'anno il riscaldamento delle camere lascia un po' a desiderare. […] Il personale è efficiente e gentile, in linea con la migliore tradizione belga, ma forse il numero è un po' ridotto. Nel complesso l'albergo è gradevole, le camere ampie e confortevoli, La locazione è molto valida per chi ha precipui scopi turistici, con il centro storico molto vicino e molti ristoranti a portata di passeggiata. Per chi invece si deve spostare perchè ha impegni, diventa difficile far capo all'albergo durante la giornata. Le attese per avere un taxi sono lunghe. e in certi casi possono dunque trovarsi soluzioni più convenienti. Continua a leggere

Io e la mia compagna abbiamo scelto The Dominican Hotel per trascorrere un weekend nel centro di Bruxelles, usufruendo solo del pernottamento senza colazione (27 euro a testa!) nè altro. L'hotel è in posizione perfetta ed è facilmente raggiungibile a piedi dalla stazione centrale. In pochi minuti di passeggiata si arriva nella Grand Place o alla fermata […] metro per visitare altri quartieri della città. Il personale della struttura è stato molto disponibile fornendoci consigli su cosa visitare e come spostarsi, e permettendoci di lasciare i bagagli presso di loro anche dopo il checkout per continuare la visita in attesa del volo in tarda serata. Le camere sono comodissime, silenziose e pulite. Nel complesso, raccomandiamo fortemente questo hotel a chi volesse trascorrere un rilassante fine settimana nel cuore di Bruxelles. Lasciate perdere il Dominican, è più un hotel di forma che di sostanza. In quattro giorni di soggiorno non mi hanna mai cambiato gli accappatoi, non si vede la tv italiana, la pulizia della camera e del bagno lasciano a desiderare, solo a volte rimpiazzano sapone e prodotti per l'igene che sono finiti, in compenso capita di ritrovarsi sul conto colazioni […] mai fatte, In compenso è comodo pechè a due passi dal centro e la nostra camera era molto silenziosa, ma per un 4 stelle non basta... Un albergo veramente bello, con camere ampie e molto confortevoli (dotate di bollitore e macchina Nespresso). E' raggiungibile a piedi dalla stazione (400 m ca.), vicino alla Grand Place (5 minuti a piedi) e alla fermata della metropolitana De Brouckère e a molte fermate di autobus. Nella zona ci sono anche molti posti per mangiare e supermercati. Da […] provare il centro benessere gratuito (con macchine, sauna e bagno turco con cromoterapia) aperto fino a tarda sera. I loved the hotel from the moment I walked through the front door. The lobby and restaurant area is beautiful. The staff was always very helpful and professional. I had a lovely and very comfortable room overlooking the courtyard. The location was perfect and I truly enjoyed my 3 night stay.

Gripe two is not being able to drive right to the door for unloading. I was pick pocketed on my way from the metro to the hotel leaving me with no cash and no cards. Unfortunately this seems to be a very common occurrence in this area. The hotel staff were very helpful and allowed me to make international calls from the reception desk to cancel my cards and allow me to access alternative funds.

The hotel was great, convenient location. Impeccable decor. One fellow guest said the lifts are "truculent" - you need a key to access them. Internet service was so-so, one of the main negatives.

This hotel is in a great location, close to Grande Place and the excellent fish restaurants of Place St Catherine. Very clean and lovely room with both a shower and bath in the ensuite. Only downside was that room was too hot and we could not cool it down, even with the small window open, which unfortunately let in noise from the streets below. We chose […] not to eat breakfast at the hotel as we thought it too expensive but rather to breakfast at one of the local cafes at around one third of the hotel price. I would recommend this hotel. We were very impressed at the scale of the lobby and later found out that the hotel was once a Domincan Abbey, which explained the generous space and height of ceilings. There were some artefacts still in place from its Abbey days that had been skillfully integrated in the redesign. Very comfortable room and we slept soundly as it is a peaceful place […] and well insulated. Also, very friendly staff who were consistently keen to be of help. Slightly atypical, in that it is playing Gregorian chant in the lift, but great hotel. Convenient for both shopping and the old town, while just outside of the tourist bustle. Nice room style and hotel decor.

The Dominican is a very beautiful and clean hotel...definitely top shelf. It is also located in a great spot close to the Grand Place, Christmas fairs, many bars and restaurants, and wonderful shopping. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The bed was the best we experienced during our entire trip to Luxembourg, Belgium and France (3 nights of […] 10). The only strange note is that the hotel did not offer valet parking. We dropped off our bags, and were given directions to a nearby parking garage (just around the block). It was not a big deal. However, we did think it strange that such a nice hotel would not offer such an amenity (reason for my 4 rating on hotel service). We stayed on Friday and Saturday nights in December. The hotel is quite discreet on the outside, but superb on the inside - comfortable common areas to the highest standard. Our room, too, was very well appointed and comfortable, with a large rain shower. A Nespresso machine was a nice touch, though the provision of just three capsules was a bit mean. […] There is an ice machine on each floor by the lift. Reception staff were very professional and courteous. A couple of little niggles. The TV didn't work properly when we arrived and despite asking it didn't get fixed by the time we got back the first night. The Hotel was superb. Staff were attentive but not pushy, very comfortable bed and room, and within 200m walk you could be in the bustle of the Grand Place restaurants. I would very happily stay at The Dominican again. Brussels Christmas Markets were leagues ahead of Lille. Parking was a little tricky, but there are 3 car parks close to the hotel.

A 5 minute walk to the central train station, the hotel is lovely and quiet. The President of Hungary was also staying there at the time - so it was even more fun!

Our stay at the Dominican was overall very pleasing. The mood was set by the entryway into the hotel. The front desk staff was generally helpful and friendly. The housekeeping staff definitely respected the "do not disturb sign", but were very efficient. (even if you left for a few minutes, they would come into the room and clean quickly). The hotel […] is centrally located and is in walking distance of many major attractions such the Grand Place. It was also convenient to shopping centers, movie theaters, grocery stores, public transportation and restaurants. The only negative was really their room service. For example, after specifically requesting a well cooked burger (no RED), it arrived absolutely rare. Also, make sure you check your bill because it seems that the room service will attempt to add costs that may not belong to your room. (not sure why this happens, but we had almost $300 Euros of erroneous meals applied to our room. The front desk was very good at removing the charges and addressing the issue). Nice hotel close to old section but quiet. Hotel appears to be business hotel but worked well for our vacation. Rooms have modern touches, but still has unique feel. Staff was helpful. Breakfast expensive, better deals just offsite.

It took us ages to find the hotel but that was mostly our fault. It would have been really useful to get details of nearest metro station in the email which came a few days before the trip. Staff,however,were very helpful when I phoned to say I was lost. Hotel was lovely when we finally arrived only 2 issues were that TV didn't work on the first night […] but they fixed it the next day and our room service took longer than expected but they apologised and it was delicious so all OK. Comfortable hotel. Didnt choose the breakfast option as this would have added about £40 per couple per day! I don't know about you but i eat about £2.50 worth of breakfast so we ate elsewhere. Roadworks outside meant that we paid too much for a taxi from Midistation.. either that or the driver was taking us for mugs. Now know that we should have jumped […] on a bus or the underground. Excellent location within walking distance of of the main train station (and therefore the tour bus) and the main square. Currently there is some refurbishment of the road the hotel is on, but this didn't affect our visit - once the work is finished the first impression of the hotel from the outside will definitely improve. Everything was excellent except for two related problems:1) The room faced the wall of another building and there was a large window on the other building facing our room. we booked & paid for what was advertised as a Triple Room for 3 nights but when we arrived it was a small double with a camp bed at the end of the double bed underneath the TV. We spoke to the Manager and she said that was all that was available. There was no apology offered and her attitude was one of indifference. This was our only holiday this year […] and we felt that our problem was not taken seriously. We were booked on a room only basis - and the rate was not cheap. We checked out the next morning to the fabulous Radisson around the corner and even though it was a dbl room with an extra bed, the room was big enough to comfortably fit it. While we appreciate it may well have been the only room available, and not much they could do about that ,they could have been a little more sympathetic and perhaps offered breakfast or even wine & chocs as a gesture of good will, instead because of the poor attitude they lost 2 nights accom & long term customers. This is a stylish hotel right in the centre of Brussels. The public areas are impressive, the staff welcoming, the room was very well appointed and very clean. The bed and bedding were really comfortable - large, with a duvet like a cloud and wonderful pillows! One of the few hotels we've stayed in recently to have a minibar (which we didn't use). I stay at this hotel every time I go to Brussels and it is an amazing experience every time. This hotel is simply perfect. The staff is extremely helpful, professional and very friendly. Rooms are comfortable, clean and modern. The shower is superb! Beds comfortable and you do not hear any noise from neighboring rooms or hallways. The outside courtyard […] as well as the bar/lounge are relaxing and they serve delicious food and drinks as well. Location cannot be beat as you are steps from the heart of brussels. Always enjoy staying at the Dominican Hotel. The location is central (4 blocks from the train station and 5 min. walk to the Grand Platz). I like have free wifi in the rooms and the main lobby has two free computers to use. The bar scene is popular with the guests. This hotel needs a better fitness area to meet the needs of theri clients.

The hotel itself is located very close to all major attractions. Upon check in, which was around 10:30AM, our room was ready. We had an early lunch (breakfast stopped being served at 10AM) and situated ourselves in the room. The hotel is very quaint and if you are fond of boutique hotels then it would seem to be a great match. My complaints however […] are as follows; while there is a thermostat located in the room it didnt seem to allow us to change the temperature in the room. Every night of our stay was miserably hot and suffocating even with the window open and the cool Belgian air entering. The housekeeping was also a huge pain. If we had the do not disturb sign on the door they would simply call to disturb us instead. Apparently house keeping only works set hours each day. The room service menu is very limited as well. Think microwave pizza style. Great location at a decent price but would probably try somewhere else out when we return. Continua a leggere

This is a beautiful hotel, well located. It is a ten minute walk to the Central Train Station; and the Grand Place. The room was spacious and well appointed. The shower was amazing. We enjoyed the coffee maker, tea kettle and mini bar.

A really nice hotel close to the Grand Place. A clean, well maintained hotel in a convenient location. A couple of things to note. When they sell you a three bed room, one of the beds is two chairs pushed together with a foam mattress on top. The other beds have a thick layer of foam on them, so that they are very soft, too soft for me. The bathroom […] lights are soooo dim and poorly positioned, that it is best described as horror movie lighting. You can't see a thing and half of your face is in dark shadow. While they say they have air conditioning, it seems to run as a heater when the weather outside is cool. Luckily the room windows open. If you are an expedia VIP member, don't expect any upgrades. Hiring a bell boy would be a good idea. Though a person from reception helped us with a luggage, but we were explained that there is no bell boy present at the hotel. Also would appreciate a smiling personnel at the front desk, especially after a long drive! Hotel does not have a parking, but separate parking is not far!
