We loved this place and hope to return. Great breakfast in the old parmesan diary , lovely old big room but small bathroom. The owner was interesting, informative and charming. We would loved to have had time to try out the Spa.

Amazing location within an hour and fifteen minutes of Milan, but a world away from the noise and congestion. There were small issues that the wonderful staff made right and then some. I recommend to any visitor to Northern Italy.

We loved this castle. We had been travelling for a few days within Italy and needed a hotel room for our 27th wedding anniversay. We booked Castello Tabiano the night before on Hotels.com. What an amazing choice. The hotel is way up on a hill (like you would expect). The views are amazing the staff extremly pleasant and helpful. We were given a room […] that had views from all 4 directions. We did not dine at the hotel, we went to Oscars right next door and had dinner prepared by Oscar himself. Everything was fresh that day. We so enjoyed the staff and the hotel we decided to stay on the next morning and enjoy the wellness centre with massages steam room. You must check out the wellness centre when you stay here, so book a bit of extra time. We did get lost coming to the hotel, but a call to Petra at the hotel and she brought us right to the hotels door. We need to thank Petra and her team for giving us an anniversay to remember. Tabiano Castello is worth the extra drive out into the hilly countryside of Salsomaggiore. With modern amenities the castello maintains amazing old world character and charm. The rolling fields of orzo surrounding the property are beautiful. The staff makes you feel like you are home & they were all so helpful! The staff will arrange wonderful spa treaments, […] cooking classes, horse back riding excursions, wine tastings, and so much more. I recommend the spa treatments & horse back riding highly! The hotel restaurant is only open on weekends but the food is fantastic and a great price! The other restaurant on the grounds, Restaurant Oscar, is not very good. If you have transportation, it is definitely worth going down the road to eat for lunch or dinner during the week versus going to the restaurant Oscar. Either way, Tabiano Castello was my very favorite experience in Italy. We went to Venice, Rome, Florence, Bologna, & Tuscany yet our few days at the Castello definitely were the highlights of the trip!! ENJOY! Continua a leggere

A lovely nights stay here on our drive to Tuscany. Did not have time though to have the spa treatments on offer. Our room was in the eaves up four floors a struggle with cases in the heat! But the room was a gem including a roll top bath! Unfortunate damp smell in the bathroom and no water for 2 hrs in the morning but this did not spoil our stay. Dinner […] a fixed price of 22 Euros we felt was good value and the red wine was to die for! The surrounding countryside was just sublime. If you have a chance to stay in this hotel - take it! We spent two nights at the Antico Borgo di Tabiano Castello in lovely Emilia Romangna area of Italy. The country side was gorgeous, and the food at "Da Oscar" was superb, and some of the best we had in Italy during our two weeks. The grounds for the hotel are very beautiful and old, and all the renovations were accomplished while still maintaining the […] historical ambiance, yet, giving comfort. The surrounding area is scattered farmland, each farm with what seemed to be their own vines for wine making. It was lovely. However, unfortunately for us, we traveled there during some of the hottest and most humid weather, and finding relief from the heat was a challenge. The room, although air conditioned, just could not seem to get cool,and with no screens on the windows, leaving the windows open at night invited all types of insects. Fortunately, the pool helped quench the heat. This is a great place for relaxation, read a book, take a walk, visit a nearby winery (which we did, and found to be challenging but extremely fun to get out among the local people and see how well our GPS worked!), and most of all, to sample some of the most delicious, fresh food of Italy whipped up at Ristorante Da Oscar, the personal chef for the AC Milan Football Club, when he isn't busy with his wife making gnocchi and desserts for his restaurant dinner guests. I would suggest this hotel in the Spring or Fall, when the weather is not quite so hot. Continua a leggere

Antico Borgo di Tabiano Castello er et spesielt hotell i gamle, vakre bygninger. Bildet på hotels.com gir inntrykk av at gjesterommene ligger i selve borgen, men det gjør de ikke. Borgen er utilgjengelig for gjestene, etter det vi kunne skjønne. Rommene var gamle og flotte, men det manglet lyspære i taklampa, og det var ikke tørket støv alle steder. […] Badet var også lite, og dusjen var så liten at det var ganske umulig å bruke den uten å søle over hele gulvet. Dusjforheng bør kanskje også være et tilbakelagt stadium i denne prisklassen. Air condition-anlegget virket svært dårlig, så vi var glade for at været var relativt kjølig. Restauranten som tilhørte hotellet slet også en del med logistikken. Personalet snakket dårlig engelsk, og vi fikk helt andre retter enn de vi bestilte, selv om vi spiste det vi fikk med godt humør. Alle på hotellet var høflige, vennlige og hjelpsomme, men det var åpenbart at de burde ha organisert seg annerledes. Continua a leggere

Très belle situation , chambre spartiate ,on entend ses voisins, les seules chambres acceptables se trouvent en haut du gite

I can recomend the hotell for its services, breakfast and dinner. The problem is the room where you can not take a shower without putting a lot of towels on the floor to stop flooding of water all over the bathroom. If you then therafter need to use the toilette it will be a wet experience, where your feet will be placed in the shower area. Bien situé, l'hôtel est confortable et d'un charme appréciable. Le personnel est un peu trop discret et le petit-déjeuner un peu trop conventionnel. On peut peut-etre trouver mieux ailleurs pour un même prix.

A bit hard to find, the name on the road dis not correspond with my GPS, but it was worth the effort. Wonderfull rooms, and another thing that don't come easy in Italy....silence. A great place to get away.
