Grande Shores Ocean Resort Myrtle Beach

Great prices in the off-season; convenient location. Room amenities are very basic but adequate. The indoor and outdoor pools are open year-round which is a plus.

I did not care for the parking deck due to driving a full size pick up and clearing by two inches. Nerve wrecking to say the least. They were also doing renovations around the hotel so it was difficult to get to office to check out. Very nice pools, right on the ocean. Room was nice and clean. All in all a nice place for a great price.

This hotel was dirty, gross, falling apart, stinky, moist, sandy, dingy. The only redeeming quality was that it was on the beach. I knew that it was not a 3-star hotel by the price, but I do expect things to be clean and to work. Neither was the case. The room was so dark (only two lights) and I had to unplug the clock radio to plug in my cell phone […] because there were only TWO outlets for the entire room. The only PLUS was the full sized fridge and the free internet. The AC was so loud that I couldn't sleep, and I couldn't keep the patio door open becuase there was no screen. Shower curtain rod was falling off the wall, the tub didn't want to drain and the sheets and bedding skeeved my out. Anyway, find a better place and spend an extra $30 a night for a better place. To break it up into Pro's and Con's... Pro's: Excellent customer service. Rooms seemed to be clean, some dust here and there but nothing to complain about. Awesome view from the balcony! Old and a bit rusted refrigerator with freezer in room but it was a full size (about 26 cubic)! Pool areas very clean and comforting. Easily accessible pools and spa's […] on 7th floor as well! Easily accessible to beach. Con's: The parking is located on the inside of the hotel and the rooms run along the outside. The parking deck is very tight. We had a compact car which made it easy, but for those with larger vehicles may be more challenging to transport. The closet and a couple light fixtures were old and worn down. You can see where some of the wall paper is beginning to wear off the walls. Took a long time for water to get hot for showers. Con's were just minor to our stay. Overall 4/5. Continua a leggere

The rooms appearance was alright but it wasn't cleaned daily. It was located on the beach but all the attractions are at the other end of the beach miles away. The food at the restaurant wasn't good and hotel concierage was rude.

Dirty, actually cruddy is a better description - terribly outdated and in need of repairs. If you enjoy your front door being a dark, dirty uneven parking garage - then this is the place for you.

This hotel is VERY old--I felt like I was in the early 90's... It was also not very clean--stained carpet, grout, dust. I literally wouldn't walk on the floor barefoot. I felt 'icky' the whole night there. The ocean view we had was really a "peep". We were there in off season when it was virtually empty yet we were given a room on 2nd floor, right […] above a restaurant and parking lot and for some reason, we couldn't get another one from Mgmt. When I made my reservation, I was looking for a low rate... and I did get it here... now, I expected a room on par with other hotels I know in the same area where you'd pay probably twice as much as I did... wasn't going to happen... while I think consumers should expect the best everytime, I guess my expectations should have been adjusted as I got […] what I paid for... not blaming the hotel... my fault... next time, I'll pay more if I want more.... My family and I just stayed at this resort this past week. Overall it was great, there were just a few things that were irritating... 1. THERE IS NO EARLY CHECK-IN... no matter what anyone tells you, it's not true! We were promised a noon check in and could not get into our room until 4pm (which is their normal check-in time) 2. They are very slow to […] bring towels if you need them 3. Most of the staff cannot speak English at all, so beware of that 4. The internet access they provide is ridiculously slow, so if you have important things that you will need to do on the computer, make sure you bring a good laptop. Other than that, the room was very nice (we had a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom ocean view condo)... oh, one more thing... there is a difference between ocean view and ocean front (ocean view means you can see the ocean from your balcony, ocean front means your balcony is literally forward facing the ocean). Very disappointed in the hotel. Internet would not work in the room - only on the balcony and then it was extremely slow. None of the outside jacuzzis worked right. One was way too hot but it was the only one with jets working. The other jacuzzis were luke warm with no jets. All the Pools were freezing cold. Rooms were old but I expected it from the […] reviews but they were not very clean. We have stayed at much nicer hotels in Myrtle Beach for less money. The staff is not the friendliest but you cant beat the location. it was nothing Awesome but it was all we needed.

The hotel does not have it's act together. Almost everything from the check-in experience was no good. They will sock you with fees you never thought existed. The next worst thing was the room's comfort. The beds were hard as slate. The doors don't close properly. Not to mention the dirty room. Do your self a favor, and stay somewhere else.
