"good deall"Recensito da un ospite di Hotels.com il 18 nov 2011
I booked what was the smallest room at the River Hotel, that came at a very good price for Chicago's standards. Lean and straightforward hotel, fantastic location - free wifi and chilled water. It was small by american standards, but not for European or Japanese standards. Highly recommended hotel -

the room was a bit old and smelly

"Close to Wrigley Field"
I thought the location was great close to everything we needed to go to on our trip, example; Wrigley field, Navy Pier and Brookfield Zoo.. The room was better then I expected the only thing that I didnt like was the beds were so uncomfortable for us.. Other then that I give this hotel a 5.
"Wicker Park Inn"
Very clean - which is super important to me! No breakfast even though I thought it was included when we purchased this room. Elevated Train was loud and made it hard to sleep. Could hear people walking above us most of the night.
"Perfect for a quick business trip..."
This was exactly what I was looking for - a clean, reasonably-priced room in an nice, uncrowded Chicago neighborhood close to my business appointment. I chose the Tucson Suite. The room was spacious and spotless, the fixtures were modern. The dining is family style, with an exceptionally nice self-serve continental breakfast laid out (including hard-boiled […] eggs). Go to Mac's, a sports bar at Wood & Division close by for a fabulous and inexpensive meal. (the pot roast was absolutely perfect!) The only negatives were the elevated train (the "L") noise, which wasn't too noticeable and lack of temp control in the room (although the temp was fine). Again, highly recommended for either business or an urban getaway... Continua a leggere
We feel in love with this Bed & Breakfast and will be returning as often as we can. We live about 3 hrs. away so it is a nice little mini vacation getaway spot! Some of the other reviews that we read complained about the noise that the "L" made ... but we didn't mind at all.
"Home away from home"
Stayed one night at the Wicker Park Inn. A lovely little place, clean and inviting. Well-stocked with snacks, tea, and pastries for breakfast. A true B&B experience. Private room was comfortable and well-stocked.
"Great Experience"
I stayed at the Wicker Park in for an interview at Rush Medical College and loved it! The surrounding neighborhood is has a young feel with lots of families and fun night life. My room was so cute and extremely clean. The owners were welcoming and very willing to help me with anything I needed. The breakfast provided in the morning was much more than […] I expected and was delicious! I highly recommend this place and I think it is well worth the reasonable price. Continua a leggere

"Loved our stay"
We enjoyed this bed and breakfast very much, We stayed in the Chicago Room which indeed had the el running quite closely, but we are heavy sleepers and didn't mind it at all. Plus, we didn't think the noise was all that loud. The room was quaintly decorated and clean, and the service was friendly and caring. We loved being in the neighborhood and being […] able to walk to all sorts of shops and restaurants. Free parking is a plus, as is the relatively low rate AND free snacks during the study and complementary breakfast. Breakfast foods are simple (nothing cooked but hard boiled eggs and toasters were available for the bagels), but the dining arrangements and the foods were terrific. Continua a leggere
"Excellent overall, but a couple of rough details"
I got the "Chicago" room at this B&B on short notice and at a very good price. I arrived a half-hour or so before the posted check-in time, but they gave me no trouble checking in early. The staff member I dealt with (whom I suspect was also the proprietor) was very friendly and helpful, giving me useful advice on getting around in Chicago. I also needed […] to get on the road before the posted hours for breakfast -- yet the breakfast coffee, pastries, and fruit materialized in time for me to eat. I don't know for sure that they went out of their way to accommodate my schedule, but I suspect that was the case. There were, however, a couple of minor details that would have made my stay even more enjoyable. I emphasize that these were minor! First, the wi-fi connection in my room was extremely weak and variable -- to the point that it was essentially unusable. Second, the volume control on the clock radio was broken and stuck at earsplitting high levelsm so it was usable as an alarm clock, but not really as a radio. The el train also passes close to the back of the inn. I sleep like a log, so that wasn't a problem for me, but light sleepers might be bothered by it. But that's it for complaints; otherwise a very pleasant stay. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Wicker Park Inn to others, or to return there myself. Continua a leggere
"Wicker Park Inn - Perfect Change of Pace"
We stayed at the WPI, in the Provence Room, on the third night of our three night stay in Chicago (after spending two nights near Mag Mile). While we chose to stay at WPI, initially, because most of the downtown hotels were full or too expensive for that particular night; we were intrigued by the thought of having a unique experience (urban B&B) in […] a neighborhood away from the tourist hotspots. We very much enjoyed our stay and the experience we had. We read tons of reviews of the place and had a good idea of what to expect in the room that we were renting for the night. The Provence room is on the small side, and the bed is just a full, but that was fine for us. The restroom is across the kitchen / breakfast area from the bedroom, but we were fine with that, too. Our only disappointment with our stay was with the tiny TV in our room. We certainly don't go on vacation to an exciting city intent on staying in our room and watching the tube, but after 12 hours of walking around during a nasty Chicago heatwave we really would have enjoyed something more than the tiny (13"?) TV that sat on the dresser across the room from the bed. We actually brought a DVD player to catch up on Mad Men (we're just into season 3!) and the TV in our room was so basic that it didn't have the red/white/yellow A/V wires to plug into it. Besides that minor complaint, our stay at the WPI was a highlight of our trip. The hosts are helpful, but non-intrusive. The price is wonderful, especially when free parking and an adequate breakfast is factored in. The Inn is a $15 cab ride, or a relatively easy journey by train, from the main tourist attractions of the city. And the neighborhood is eclectic and interesting and full of great shopping if you're into vintage clothing, music, books, etc. We would absolutely consider staying at the Inn again and would recommend it to others who don't want to watch DVD's when they get back from a long day of sight-seeing. Thanks! Continua a leggere
"The Wicker Park Inn, a Chicago Bed and Breakfast"
This find was most enjoyable. We were in a 3 bedroom apartment with enough room for everyone. Kitchen with utensils and pots and pans. Very modern bathroom. Nice clean rooms. Located in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. Close to downtown. Parking at a premium. Hotel provided on-street parking permits. Liked this bed and breakfast. Will recommend to […] others.
