Rodeway Inn & Suites Airport/Cruiseport Fort Lauderdale

My wife and I thought that the service at the check in was a bit slow and done by inexperienced people. They were friendly and helpful after we told them we were not happy with the motel outside room , close to a truck stop.The staff relocated us to a satisfactory room inside the building.

The room was totally satisfying. Big, clean, etc. I was particularly pleased with the shutte to and from the airport. For an overnight between flights, this place was perfect. And...well priced

We called Rodeway in from the airport; they said the van would arrive in 30 minutes. We called back 35 minutes later and we were told it would be an hour or more, since they had only one van, and thirteen people to pick up ahead of us. We were eventually crammed into a van with an overload of passengers, and waited in line for another 30 minutes to […] check in at the front desk. The hotel food was mediocre and the entertainment (singing) was just plain bad, but there were no other restaurants within walking distance. This place is understaffed and overpriced. I was charged twice for this room! When I reserved it in June and then again when I stayed in January, thankfully we caught the mistake and contacted them for a refund but this should not have happened. When I checked in I told them this room was already paid for. Stayed just before and just after our cruise. The shuttle service was excellent. The manager of the hotel spent most of the morning on a microphone directing traffic in the lobby. He was rather obnoxious but I guess he was trying to be funny. He kept on pushing that this was a free shuttle service but then made sure you knew how much you should tip […] the driver. It turns out that the tip was probably half the price of a taxi. The rooms were comfortable but the check in process was disorganized with many signatures that they would charge your card $300.00 if there is evidence of smoking in the room. Best to stay in a room where there is carpeting (likely the second floor) because the tile on first floor rooms can be really cold. If you have a lot of luggage you will be stuck lugging them up stairs outside with no elevators. This hotel is the middle of absolute nowhere. If you don't have a vehicle you are at the mercy of a taxi or the expensive shuttle prices to anywhere. You are therefore a captive of the restaurant in the hotel. The food isn't bad and prices are reasonable. The sports bar is a good place for a drink. It's an oasis of the desert location. In summary it's a cheap place to stay pre and post cruise but of course you get what you pay for. Continua a leggere

Very pleased with the service. We arrived by train to Ft Lauderdale and was thrilled to have the shuttle from the hotel pick us up...very unexpected! When we arrived we were super hungry and was happy to find a fun restaurant located right in the hotel. The next morning we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, however do not leave your room without the […] breakfast coupon that the front desk gives you. My husband went to get coffee before we dined for breakfast and was charged $5.00 for 2 cups of coffee...not cool. I booked two nights at the Rodeway Inn Before and after a Cruise, and I could say I could not have chosen better. The location is very convenient especially when they have shuttles to and from the airport and the cruise port. Rooms both night were clean and bed very comfortable. The staff were very helpfull and we had dinner at the restaurant . again […] when you are tired from a trip it is nice to find a place where you can relax and have a nice dinner without the hassle of leaving the hotel to look for a place to eat.. Convenience and comfort is number one and I found it at the Rodeway Inn. I will recommend it to all especially when you are cruising and with kids, you will have everything at your fingertip. Thank you Rodeway Inn for making my trip with my 10 year old son enjoyable and easy.. See you on my next trip to Fort Lauderdale. This is probably one of the worst hotels we have stayed at.....very inefficient at the front desk and general poor management

My husband & I stayed 1 night prior to a cruise. It was a cheap hotel and at the price offers value in that they pick you up at airport and deliver you to ship next day. However it is purely functional with rooms on 2 floors with a good walk away from the main building. Room was dirty, bad service at the restaurant, long wait just to check in. No vending machines, only over priced sodas in their "gift shop"

Hotel check in was somewhat slow, but not due to the hotel, there were guests with extensive questions about accessing cruise transportation. The clerk was patient and friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable. The resturant service was excellent, thank you Mike, and the food was well prepared and tasty. Service to the cruise port was good. Return […] service was awful. It was a repeat of last year where we were told with each phone call, "45 minutes to 1 hour". Eventually, the van came and there was a loud conflict regarding who waited the longest. People were obviously frustrated about the lengthly wait. We will probably stay here again, but will invest in a taxi for return transportation. We have a long drive to North Carolina and each hour we wait delays our progress. The price of a taxi is worth the worth the trade off to avoid the angry frustrated people who have been waiting for "45 minutes" that they have been told several times after their already lengthly wait. The worst ever hotel, not worth even offered for free. Horrible shuttle service- had to phone and wait for 40 min to be picked up from airport; then had to wait for almost 2 hrs for shuttle to goto cruise port. No elevator for our room on 2nd floor, had to carry kids and luggage via filthy stairs. Would never recommend to anyone, spend another $20-30 […] and start your cruise with a pleasant mood. This was the Dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. My wife and I stayed there the night before our cruise and we would not take our shoes off in the room. The bathroom floor was sticky and the carpet looked filthy in the room. The breakfast was horrible also. Other than boxed cereals, there was nothing appetizing on the table.

The restaurant on site was excellent, prices reasonable and food very good. Breakfast was great and the girls were on top of making sure if something was low they would replenish it. The gentleman who runs the hotel was great. He kept the people who were waiting to go to the airport or cruise ship quite entertained. I would recommend this hotel to  […] everyone. Crappy!

In the beginning we had a few problems with transportation to the hotel but they more than accommodated us for our troubles and made sure we were happy with everything. The staff is very friendly and understanding. I was looking for an inexpensive hotel that wasn't going to be dirty or roach infested to stay one night in. I looked at several before deciding on the Roadway Inn. I had a great experience with the staff, manager, bar staff. My room was a little farther away then what I would have liked, but it served the purpose for being a cheap night's stay.

No way it is even two stars - rating is a joke - place was not worth its rate.

After a long drive with several kids, I really liked the fact they had a bar/restaurant with lots of food items on it so we wouldn't have to drive for some place to eat. Tucked the kids into bed and then dad snuck out back to the bar to have a cocktail or 2. Room wasn't the cleanest, hair on the bathroom floor, stickers on the wall. The room was dirty but was ok if your only going to stay one nite.

Very much enjoyed my stay. The fact that there is a bar and restaurant right inside it's a plus. Will recommend it to anyone heading to Fort Lauderdale.

I selected this motel because it was the cheapest in the area and it had a free shuttle to the Ft.Lauderdale airport. When I checked in I asked the front desk about the shuttle and they said that it was in the shop for repairs. This was very upsetting to say the least, because they advertised the free shuttle as a big deal in the hotel ad and I was […] really counting on it. So anyway I had to drop about 20 dollars on a taxi to the airport, which was almost half of what I spent on the room. That being said, the staff was nice and friendly. The room was okay for the price, not sparkling clean, but not dirty or anything, just hair in the sink and dusty air vents but hey that's expected. Several of the rooms I saw on the bottom floor were under construction, so I think they might be in the process of remodeling. The area around the Inn has absolutely nothing in walking distance, at least nothing that wasn't sketchy looking. If you just need to crash somewhere before leaving Ft. I was looking for a one night stay nearby the airport and came across this hotel. I was skeptical after reading some of the review but when I got there the staff was so nice! Our room was remarkable, with a king size bed and a Jacuzzi in the room. The staff was very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. The pricing was affordable for what you get. […] The building was a little old, I did not take advantage of the pool or the free continental breakfast that they offered but at night there was a great little sports bar with Karaoke. The hotel was older but the price was very cheap and the room was clean. It was not spotless but the bathroom was nice and clean and the bed was clean and comfortable. We spent the night at the Rodeway prior to going to Port Everglades for our cruise. Since we were driving in from the Treasure Coast, we decided that we would get a room rather that leave home at 4:30 am for a 7 am cruise check-in. The Rodeway offered a shuttle to and from the port. The night man, John was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, […] and what we expected for the very low price we paid. The location was perfect, about five minutes from the port. If you are one who has to be pampered and sleep on high thread count sheets, the Rodeway is not for you. The Rodeway Inn is tucked away, but conveniently located and reasonably priced. Accomadations are descent...restaraunt and breakfast are descent as well.

This hotel is very clean and close to the airport and ports. They told me there was an elevator in the wing section which turned out to be false. Hard for me to get my luggage up and down the stairs. Also this hotel seems to be very old and needs to be updated. . The room we had was redone with flat screen TV and new bathroom but you have to step over […] the toilet to close the door. We booked this hotel because it had a shuttle from the airport and a shuttle TO the cruiseport and other reviews were not bad. We were not really directed to our room so hauled all our luggage (16 days of cruisewear) up the wrong stairway, then had to go out to a completely different area and haul all the luggage up AGAIN. Our kids had no water in their […] room for 2+ hours. Rooms were nothing great but adequate. We knew we were not going to be allowed to embark until 2 p.m. on our cruise, but we were hustled out of there about 11. Our plan had been to sort of stall at the motel but their agenda is clearly to get you out of there so we went. Not a terrible place, but be aware of what you're going to get. This is not a 5 star hotel but they make up for it by providing great service. They have a nice restaurant - we hadn't eaten much all day on the flight so the food in the bar/restaurant was welcome and good. The hotel caters to cruise passengers who fly in a day early and has a great system for getting you to your cruise. Before we left for the cruise […] ship, we had to wait for a fedex package that was late, but even though they had already taken all the other cruise passengers they took us anyway. Good nightly rate. Room, cleanliness, staff all below aveage.

There was no elevator. Stayed on 3rd floor and had to carry luggage - weight of 2 suitcases was 50 pounds each. Nobody was available to help. Will not recommend this hotel for that reason alone.

Where to start? Maybe the one hour wait on the cruise ship pier for the shuttle from the Rodeway Inn which is 3 miles distant. Or maybe the 2 1/2 hour wait for a room (with the invitation to get something to eat and drink in their bar/restaurant). Or how about the free breakfast starting at 7:00 a.m. which coincides with the airport shuttle's on-the-hour […] departure? That means unless you have a 10:30 a.m. or later departure, you eat at FLL. If you do stay, take a 5 minute walk and go eat at Rendezvous Waterfront Bar and Grill. Continua a leggere

Motel is old, service is acceptable but abrupt. Patrons must follow all the rules or get hit with extra fees. Continental breakfast wasn't worth the time. There are so many area motels better than this one, but this one is cheap (I guess that you get what you pay for).
