Internacional Cool Local Hotel Barcellona

Hotel discreto semplice e comodo da arrivare dalla piazza Catalunia. Le camere sono un po' piccole ma la sala della colazione sulla Rambla, compensa abbondantemente, oltre alla varietà di prodotto offerti. Consigliabile per chi vuole essere al centro di Barcellona senza spendere una fortuna.

A fine Luglio abbiamo soggiornato una sola notte in attesa del traghetto per Maiorca. L'hotel è esattamente a metà della Rambla per cui è comodissimo per chi vuole vivere Barcellona anche di notte. La hall è veramente piccola, le camere pure (noi avevamo la standard) ma l'arredo è nuovo e la pulizia ottima. Sul tetto un bellissimo terrazzo dal quale […] si vede il porto olimpico. E' possibile pagare un supplemento per la colazione continentale ma se preferite solo un caffè con brioche, si risparmia nei numerossimi bar dei dintorni.Molto consigliato a chi non ha auto al seguito perchè non c'è garage. Per l'auto ci sono i parcheggi pubblici ma sono estremamente costosi.(circa 50€ al giorno). Continua a leggere

I didn't like the hotel at all. First they say wireless Internet is included, but is not. Instead they have laptops in each floor so you have to share. Also, you can not make or receive local and international calls. The bathroom was smelly.

Overall very good.

Find another hotel to relax in, this is just for people that are drunk 24\7.

The staff were very service minded and helpful in all situations. And when there was a misunderstanding about the original booking they immediately upgraded us to a suite with two balcony's. That's service and earns respect! Close to the Catalan square, two big shopping malls and also directly situated by the old city and the Gothic quarters area. […] The alley's are just around the corner... We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights as it was only a city break in Barcelona. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the hotel, as it was very clean, nice and tidy, great location and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was overlooking La Rambla and had a little balcony which was a bonus. First night we went out for a dinner […] to the restaurant recommended by the recepcionist and we have to admit that it was just delicious. The breakfast at the hotel was between 8-11am and you couldn't ask for more. English breakfast type of food, few kinds of cheese and meat and bread, fresh toamtos, jams, fruit, few kinds of croissant, cereal, milk, juices, tea, coffee...and we're pretty sure we haven't mention everything and on top of that good service, even if one of the ladies couldn't speak English. The only drawback - it might get a bit noisy from the corridor especially during the weekend when drunk people getting back to the hotel very late as the room doors are definitely not sound proof, but hey, you don't go for 3 days to Barcelona to sleep all night ;) We have already recommended to a friend and would definitely stay there if we ever go back to Barcelona. Great location, at a reasonable price - welcoming and helpful reception staff. The room was basic but newly furnished and as it was at the back of the hotel it was quiet. There is a metro stop just outside but you can walk to most of the central sights quite easily from the hotel.

The hotel is located directly in the middle of Las Ramblas in Barcelona. It is close to everything including the great open market where you can find just about everything. The metro is also close by where you can travel to many other places throughout the city or go to the Marina. The Museums are near and the buildings are incredible. Would book this hotel again. Spent 4 nights over Xmas at the hotel. The included breakfasts were great- the dining room was beautiful! Room was small but modern decor and clean. The only negative about the room was the lack of a clock and alarm clock. One star hotel in a five star location. The room was so ill maintained it was truly a horrible experience. They should be embarassed for charging people to stay in a room like this. Curtains were torn and covered in mould. The room smelt like a public toilet, we left the door open for 3 hours because we couldn't stand it but it kept coming back. Beds […] were so old, worn and squeaked with any slight movement. Flooring was cracked and needed repair. Mini fridge had a a freezer section that was completely blocked and the ice was starting to overtake space in fridge. Wall mount attachment for hand-held shower head was broken and could not be used. Communal areas were deceptively tidy and nicley decorated - don't know why the couldn't follow this through to our room. Wi-fi consistently dropped out and instructions on the phone of how to call reception to notify them of this didn't work so we had to keep going down there to tell them. Did not have breakfast there and wouldn't after seeing the rundown condition of that room, it didn't give me any confidence in the condition of their kitchen. Continua a leggere

The hotel location was good and the service was very nice. For the price it was worth it. I only have one negative thing to say but, that wasn't the fault of the hotel it was my next door neighbors..... Pleasant stay and would stay there again. Be careful of the smell of the water in the toilets is my only warning if you have a sensitive nose.

What an excellent hotel, ideally located with spot on service. We had a brilliant superior family room on the front of the building with balconies overlooking La Rambla modern facilities and shower room. Pro's - couldn't be more central being on La Rambla; great customer service from all reception staff; free wifi in our room and common areas; hotel […] lap tops available for use. Con's - some outside noise and rooms not massive but only to be expected from such a central hotel. If you want a reasonable price and best location you cannot go wrong. Nice hotel in a nice location.

This hotel don't deserve even a two stars. I don;t know how they give it 4 stars.

My wife and I only stayed here one night prior to a cruise and would recommend it to everyone.. What a NICE Local hotel. Yes we like chains, but local is usually best when in Europe. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was medium small but had a balcany on the hotel front corner. A musican played music just below our window in the morning […] and my wife loved it. Great hotel, very comfortable beds, nice big washrooms, soundpround rooms and air conditioning too! great location, great staff! Excellent breakfast!! this is my 2nd time staying at this hotel.

Definitelly a great location but the rooms are small and do not have the required ameninties ( fridge, safe...etc). you should upgrade to a junior suite to have a decent size room. the reception staff are a bit cold !

The hotel was wonderful, but I would tell anyone going to Las Ramlas to go somewhere else, as the crime, is VERY prevalent, and the police are very lax in taking care of the problem. Nearly 1/2 the people had some issue of crime, theft etc, that i talked to. Horrible area to visit, only b/c of the HIGH crime rate. Very unsafe. Internacional Cool Local Hotel has an ideal location, 5 meters from the elevator to the Metro, and right on the lively La Rambla street. There are lots of shops, restaurants, bars, and tourist info kiosks within a stone's throw of the hotel. They were out of standard rooms when we booked, so they upgraded us to a superior room with a balcony and view […] of La Rambla! Very nice touch! Only 2 minor downsides to our stay, and they are minor...the WiFi was broken for 2 out 3 days of our stay, but there was WiFi at the American Soda restaurant that we could connect to from our balcony. The other is that the AC/heater was set on summer mode for the whole building, which meant only cold air, even though the room was freezing on the first night. They gave us extra blankets though, and the next night the weather was warmer. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Barcelona. Continua a leggere

Hotel was in a great location, five minute walk from the aquarium & near all the great sights. Transport to & from was really convenient. Would stay there again

We asked to change rooms as the first one was not so great. The next room was fantastic! The area is nice by day but at night the is a bit undesirable. We would stay here again if in Barcelona.

If Location was most important, this is great. It's on La Rambla steps from transportation, food, shopping, site seeing and night life. They serve a lovely breakfast as well. The only disappointment was that there were no tv stations in English nor a box of tissues in the room. Free Wifi was also available.

Located right on La Rambla, and a 20 minute walk to the beach.

Rooms were small for the price, walls were deteriorating in the bathroom, air conditioning was less that desireable. Great location & Breakfast buffett.

Spartan, dark and depressing room that smells like sewer. If you have no choice but to stay there, make sure you bring a lot of incense.

The hotel was in a perfect location! Right next to Las Rambala's and the Gothic district. If you plan on enjoying Barcelona and not be in your hotel room this place is great. The room is very small but manageable.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It really lived up to its name. Very cool, very international, very local. The staff was very nice and helpful and the Fanta was alway ice cold. We enjoyed our stay so much that we tried to find a branch in Madrid. We forgot it was local.

The room was clean and comfortable. I'm not sure I got the upgraded room I paid for, but I decided not to mention it, the room was great, but basic. The AC worked better than expected (based on other reviews, I was prepared for the worst, but actually had to keep it off the lowest setting because the room got TOO COLD- in the middle of August). I was a little diasppointed on the lack of croud or activities planned for the roof terrace. It is totally an underutilized space and could add so much more to the hotel. Stayed here for a couple of nights, excellent location next to metro station. Clean room furnished with decent beds, modern facilities, air cond and double glazed balcony door. Facilities are sufficient for needs, free wifi and fixed laptops for use. The staff were very friendly, polite and knowledgeable- would recommend.

Internacional Cool Local is a nice small hotel located in the heart of the city of Barcelona tourist area. It's location is very convenient as it is next to a Metro Station (Liceu) in Las Ramblas. The rooms are modern although a little small.

The Cool Local has an excellent location for first time visitors - like I was. You're right on the Rambla, close to everything that's within walking distance and conveniently located for public transport for the things that are not. From there you can explore and find your favorite spots and maybe go there next time. I really liked the decor of the […] hotel, very nice stile, minimalistic and elegant. The rooms are small, but you don't stay much there anyway. A cool feature is that all storage room -apart from one closet- is out in the free, so you can SEE your stuff and not forget half of it and drawers and cupboards. Rooms are recently refurbished so everything is nice and new and the cleaning was very thorough. The breakfast buffet was really nice too but the two main features of all that is good there, are the breakfastroom and the overly charming rooftop terrace. (Which unfortunately closes already around 11 pm) Everything bad said about the room aircon, I can confirm, it worked, but only just and certainly not reliable in any way. I'm not a huge aircon fan anyway, so we lived with it. Also the hotel has rooms, that face INWARDS, that is there's no way to get FRESH air into the room. It's worth the effort to see if you can avoid getting one of these rooms. Overall, I liked it above average and would recommend it to others without hesitation. Continua a leggere

great location, good breakfast (not free), clean and comfortable rooms. I have stayed here twice. I would recommended. The staff are not extremely friendly though.

Had a nice stay at this hotel in Barcelona. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The hotel is in a great location on la Ramblas. The only negative comment I have is that it was quite noisy. Not so much from the street but from the thin walls of the hotel...but if you are going to stay out all night it's not a big problem.
