I am really confused by all the glowing reviews for this hotel. My husband and I travel to London frequently and try to stay in different places to experience more of this city that we love so much. I found Base2Stay's rooms to be small even by London standards. The bed was comfortable, and the hotel was generally quiet (when the fire alarm wasn't going […] off during the night). However, our room was not ready when we arrived at noon. Yes, check in time is 2:00 pm, but most of the time when we arrive in London from our transatlantic flight, usually much earlier than noon, our hotel room is ready. The hotel of course let us leave our bags, but they did not appear to have a left luggage room - there were suitcases sitting all over the reception room, and I did not feel comfortable leaving my laptop. This hotel had painfully slow wifi that was not adequate to meet my business needs. Make sure you bring your own toiletries - the hotel supplied only a small bar of soap and one bottle of a combination body soap/shampoo, and these were not replenished during our stay. I was not a big fan of the area of Earl's Court where this hotel was located. The street leading to the hotel was dark, and the section of Earls Court Road near the hotel just had a seedy feel to it. Base2Stay is a 5-10 minute walk from Earls Court Tube station where you can catch the Circle, District, or Piccadilly lines. PIccadilly is convenient to London Heathrow Airport - with your Oyster Card the tube ride is way cheaper than a taxi or Heathrow Express to Paddington. This hotel markets itself as being upscale, but on the 5-star scale, it is probably a weak 3 stars. Despite all the shortcomings, my review would have been three stars, but we had a very distressing experience that was handled poorly, and I had to drop it to one. This incident occurred on the third night of our stay, a Sunday night. A fire alarm sounded just after midnight. I have been awoken by hotel firm alarms on many occasions, and they are Continua a leggere
"Better than I hoped. Love love love this place."
I have never been happier with a hotel choice. I am a single traveler and am not in my hotel much. What I look for is: clean and quiet, central location, WiFi (preferably free), and refrigerator. The room was amazing. Seemed recently painted. Spotlessly clean. The kitchen closet in my single was adorable. Sink, fridge, microwave, plates, bowls, flatware. […] The Sainsbury's is a couple blocks away to get cereal and milk, soda, breads, etc. so I ate breakfast in the room every day. Saves money and more importantly, time! The TV is a flatscreen but also has internet, so if I had not brought my iPad, I could have used it for mail, etc. As for the WiFi, it worked fine and was fast, unlike some people have written, so no worries there. The staff were very accommodating and friendly (as are most people in London). The shower was especially great. Electronically controlled with nice powerful shower heads. So nice after a long day of walking. The best recommendation I can give it is this: I took the train to Paris for an evening and then checked back into base2stay for one more night the next day. It felt more like I was coming home instead of spending another night in the hotel. Oh, and they kept my big bag overnight, so that I could take just my backpack to France. It was waiting for me in my room. The location is the only thing that is not perfect. It is not walking distance to attractions, but being on the District and Piccadilly lines make it just minutes from everything, including the airport and train stations. Just get an Oyster card before you go to England and use the tube all you want. There are a number of food places right outside the tube including a cute sandwich shop. I wish there was a base2stay in every city. I would never stay anywhere else. I know this review is gushing, but I promise you I do not work for the hotel. I am a regular person. They were just that good. Continua a leggere

"convenient and comfortable"
We enjoyed our recent stay at Base2stay. Only a 5 minute walk from Earl's Court station made getting around London and to/from LHR really easy. The area has plenty of great restaurants and stores for food or other items forgotten at home. The hotel itself was comfortable and relatively modern. The space is small (this is London after all!) but was well […] used including space under the bed for luggage and wasn't too cramped for us. The front staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again if our travels bring us back through London. Continua a leggere
"Small but perfectly formed"
Really gorgeous room - small as yu expect for London and it was a single room - but absolutely perfectly set out - everything had its place and the bathroom was very luxurious. I would describe it as almost like a Bento box - beautifully laid out and not an ounce of wasted space! Absolutely recommend.
"Londres, novo , moderno e acessivel"
Excelente custo-beneficio! Continua a leggere
