Super 8 Motel - Intercontinental Airport Humble

The a/c and fridge were both cold. However, the landline phone was disconnected, holes in the blankets, brown and yellow stains on the towels and wash cloths, dried urine spots on the floor in the rr, sticky floor in the rr, hair in the rr, just really an overall dirty feel. At breakfast you had to hold down the toaster to make it work and the apple […] juice machine was apple flavored water (I guess it ran out) at mid breakfast time. The price was good - but any hotel, no matter how cheap, should be able to keep a clean room. When mentioning any of the above to the front desk, their response was, "I'm sorry." That was it. We stayed here going to and coming from vacation. We had a 16 hour overnight layover both ways. We called the hotel to have the shuttle pick us up and both times it was there in less than 5 minutes. The hotel is super close to the airport and the shuttle was there on time to get us really early in the morning. We stayed three nights (2 adults-king size-non smoking). The motel was EXTREMELY HARD to find. It was tucked behind a Holiday Inn Express and a Valero gas station. The ice machine only worked on the first day we were there... and it wasn't just the ice machine on our floor that was out... ALL of the ice machines were out of order. They boast a complementary […] breakfast but it consisted of bread (bagels) and frozen waffles. We had a non-smoking room but every time we got off the elevator on our floor (3rd) the smell of smoke filled the hallway... Luckily the smell did not make it into our room. The front desk staff and housekeeping staff were VERY nice and professional. I would consider staying at the motel again.... but only for the right price.... and it would have to be VERY low! You get what you pay for. Better options for the same price. Airport shuttle is not branded as Super 8. Waited over 1 hour for the shuttle called hotel several times 4th call was told to look for a parking shuttle that drops at the hotel. Makes no sense. Front desk clerk even said that the owner needs to get his own shuttle.

Outside ok, but when you first open the door to the hotel your hit with a combination of musty, smoke, and mildew smells. Clerk was friendly. Elevator carpet nasty with stronger smoke smells. The room was pretty bleak. My non- smoking room reaked of smoke even though it also smelled as if it had a dose of febreeze to try and mask it. Although the decor was dated and needs to be freshened up, the staff of the hotel was outstanding. The young lady helping us with check-in was extremely helpful making sure we had the right type of room for our short layover airport stay. She did not mind at all when we switched to another room after it seemed apparent that a prior guest had been smoking […] in a non-smoking room. We were overwhelmingly happy with the lovely lady at the front desk in the morning who not only welcomed us with a smile at 5am, but she got the entire breakfast buffet ready earlier than their usual 6am so that our family and two kids could have breakfast prior to leaving for the airport. She was so gracious and her service was exceptional because we had a long day of traveling ahead of us and it started out so much bettert with our two kids being fed at such an early hour! Super 8 Motel is a low budget hotel, however, the level of maintenance and service was of a much higher ticket hotel. Clean, nicely painted and maintained, shuttle to the airport, decent breakfast and nice personnel. Good job!

The airport shuttle came to get me from the airport within 5 minutes of me calling the hotel from baggage claim after a cancelled flight. The room was clean and hotel was within walking distance to a couple restaurants, Sonic, gas stations for "must-haves" when stuck there overnight. Room was nice and spacious, clean, and staff was wonderful. The only problems I had was the smoke alarm in my room kept going off, but they fixed that. Also my power outlet in the restroom wouldn't work, nor did they fix it. No offers were made to switch rooms.

My name is Ed I stayed at the hotel. The biggest disappointment was the transfer from the airport to the hotel. The transfer took at least an hour and several phone calls to the hotel. Finally I was able to hook up with the driver and I realize how he is so frustrated as he had to go to the car parks and drop people off. The driver finally made an effort to help the man get on the bus.The hotel power went off and stayed off during the night for atleast 4-5 hours. Not sure why it happened. Reception not as PR friendly as most should be....just getting the job done. Probably pay doesn't warrent it??! but, that's from observation from many years of travel. Old carpeting and smell, but very clean sheets/tub/toilet. Complimentary shuttle to airport Wafflehouse nearby gives a little discount!!

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was large, clean, and quiet and the bed was comfortable. I asked front desk for a stopper for the tub and she delivered it to our door in less than 5 minutes. The shuttle driver was also prompt and greeted us with a smile and a helping hand at 4am. I would definitely stay there again.

We were very pleased. We just needed a place to stay during an overnight flight connection. The staff was very efficient and friendly in informing us of the shuttle from airport, which only took a few minutes. This is were I will stay next time.

Room was clean as far as appearances. Carpet had abig red stain on the carpet next to the bed as if a bottle of nail polish was dropped on it. I pulled back the sheets and the top sheet had stains all over it from on corner to the next. I like Super 8 generally, but on this occasion I had to cancel for Houston and the on line agent would not or could not rebook me into a Phoenix Super 8. Disappointed!

The front desk staff was courteous and attentive. The room was very big, clean, and smelled really nice. They scheduled the free shuttle and made sure he was on time at 3:30 am. Not a single complaint. Will stay there again!

It is reasonably priced and no frills as all super 8's are . This one was well worn but the staff were very nice and friendly. Carpets were dirty, just vaccuuming doesn't do it. Chairs had iron burns in the seats, Just the basics. Only had to catch a few hours sleep so it worked. Would probably not stay there again. This hotel is horrible. I will write some of the things that I noticed so that others can be aware of the state of the rooms and the helpfulness of the staff. I would never stay at this hotel again, ever! The breakfast is horrible. They classify: instant oatmeal, white bread, packaged cinnamon buns, and waffles as their main foods. You maybe get red […] delicious apples as a fruit selection (one day we had it and the next day no apples). Yogurt, coffee, and juice also. Moving onto the rooms. They have old, gross, shiny bedspreads. The old style sheets with the very thin fleece like sheets. That are cold as heck. I asked for more pillows and they brought up 2 stained pillows and the pillow cases separate. I had to put them on myself. Our toilet wasn't working. The flusher was disconnected. However, they didn't have someone in the building to fix it, so it got fixed in the morning. The cleaning staff spends more time on their cell phones than cleaning. The tubs are old and stained. The water pressure sucks. They do not allow late checkout. Also the last night, there was kids running up and down the hall. Instead of coming up to see who it was, they called our room and woke up our kids. We were all in bed already because we had an early flight and had to be up at 4:30am. Then the lady at the desk started banging with a broom on our floor and woke our kids up again. Overall this is a really crappy hotel. Service and cleanliness. I would never stay again.
